한국에서 새로운 해충 석류가루이, Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday, 1835) 발견 보고

2019년 경남 진주시 배나무에서 석류가루이(신칭) Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday, 1835) 가 발견되었다. 분포조사를 통하여, 부산, 창원, 진주, 광양, 순천, 고흥, 고성에서 발생을 확인하였고, 기주식물로 석류, 배, 모과, 매실, 산사, 비파, 홍가시, 피라칸타, 배롱나무, 꽃사과나무를 확인하였다. 이 해충의 피해 상황과 분류학적 특징을 기재한다. In 2019, the ash whitefly, Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday, 1835), was firstly found on a pear tree in Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. From occurrence survey, we confirmed that S. phillyreae was occurred in seven cities, Busan, Changwon, Jinju, Gwangyang, Suncheon, Goheung, and Goseong. In addition, seven plants, such as Punica granatum, Pyrus pyrifolia, Cydonia oblonga, Prunus mume, Crataegus pinnatifida, Eriobotrya japonica, Photinia glabra, Pyracantha angustifolia, Lagerstroemia indica, and Malus prunifolia, were detected as hostplants. In this study, we present the first report of this species in Korea and describe the damage caused by S. phillyrease and its taxonomic information.
Control of IPMC-based Artificial Muscle for Myoelectric Hand Prosthesis

This paper proposes an ionic polymer metal composite (IPMC) based artificial muscle to be applicable to the Myoelectric hand prosthesis. The IPMC consists of a thin polymer membrane with metal electrodes plated chemically on both faces, and it is widely applying to the artificial muscle because it is driven by relatively low input voltage. The control commands for the IPMC-based artificial muscle is given by electromyographic (EMG) signals obtained from human forearm. By an intended contraction of the human flexor carpi ulnaris and extensor carpi ulnaris muscles, we investigated the actuation behavior of the IPMC-based artificial muscle. To obtain higher actuation force of the IPMC, the single layered as thick as $800[{\mu}m]$ or multi-layered IPMC of which each layer can be as thick as $178[{\mu}m]$ are prepared. As a result, the bending force was up to the maximum 12[gf] from 1[gf] by actuating the single layered IPMC with $178[{\mu}m]$, but the bending displacement was reduced to 6[mm] from 30[mm]. The experimental results using an implemented IPMC control system show a possibility and a usability of the bio-mimetic artificial muscle.

<P>Multimodal nanoparticles have been extensively studied for target-specific imaging and therapy of various diseases, including cancer. In this study, radiolabeled arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD)-functionalized Er(3+)/Yb(3+) co-doped NaGdF(4) upconversion nanophosphors (UCNPs) were synthesized and evaluated as a multimodal PET/MR/optical probe with tumor angiogenesis-specific targeting properties.</P>
일부 지역사회 노인의 치주염 심도에 따른 타액 내 치주염 원인균 분포와 연관성 분석

Objectives: Periodontitis-causing microorganisms and their virulence factors can provoke periodontal destruction in the host. This study was aimed at evaluating the distribution of periodontal disease and its relationship with 11 periodontal disease-causing bacteria in the elderly. Methods: Individuals aged 60 years or above were recruited after obtaining informed consent. The clinical attachment loss was measured at studied sites to determine the severity of periodontitis. Further, the stimulated salivary samples were collected and analyzed with real-time polymerase chain reaction to detect 11 strains of periodontitis-causing bacteria. Results: The severity of periodontal disease was proportional to the amount of periodontal diseasecausing bacteria. Porphyromonas gingivalis in the red complex increased from 6.60±5.50 in stage 1 to 5.36±5.39 in stage 2 and 7.19±5.56 in stage 3 (P =0.003). Tannerella forsythia increased from 6.54±4.60 in stage 1 to 7.44±4.56 in stage 2 and 8.49±4.70 in stage 3 (P =0.007). Conclusions: The presence of complex bacterial groups and their number of strains were high in participants with severe periodontitis. Controlling periodontitis-related bacteria is important for periodontal health in the elderly.
