An Implementation of Embedded System to Detect Possibility of Car Crash
Soon T. Kwon,Moon G. Joo 한국멀티미디어학회 2010 한국멀티미디어학회 국제학술대회 Vol.2010 No.-
A simulator to generate car speed and ranges around a car is implemented. CDS sensors are used to detect the ranges between a car and obstacles and variable resistor to assume car speed. The simulated information is propagated by Flexray network, which is the most recent in-car network and transported to user interface module to calculate the vehicle crash possibility.

For way-point tracking of an autonomous underwater vehicle with small control fins and low speed, which can be affected a lot by external forces and undefined variables in the underwater environment, a sliding mode controller is proposed in continuous time domain. The controller aims at tracking a series of way-points which an operator registers arbitrarily and consists of a depth controller and a steering controller. To show the performance, conventional state feedback controller is introduced and compared with the proposed sliding mode controller. In the simulation using MATLAB/Simulink, adding noise of each up ±0.0005m/s, ±15˚/s to the measurement of speed and angular speed, respectively, we verify the robustness of the sliding mode controller.
The growth rates and tune shifts due to the construction errors of RF cavity

The resonance frequencies, shunt impedances and Q-values for the higher-order modes in our designed cavity are calculated by the computer codes URMEL and MAFIA. A new computer code is developed to calculate the complex tune shifts for the randomness of the higher-order mode frequencies due to the construction errors of a cavity. The results with the construction errors are compared to those of without error cases for the dipole mode and quadrupole mode.

A new advanced safety feature of DVI+ (Direct Vessel Injection Plus) for the APR+ (Advanced Power Reactor Plus), to mitigate the ECC (Emergency Core Cooling) bypass fraction and to prevent switching an ECC outlet to a break flow inlet during a DVI line break, is presented for an advanced DVI system. In the current DVI system, the ECC water injected into the downcomer is easily shifted to the broken cold leg by a high steam cross flow which comes from the intact cold legs during the late reflood phase of a LBLOCA (Large Break Loss Of Coolant Accident)For the new DVI+ system, an ECBD (Emergency Core Barrel Duct) is installed on the outside of a core barrel cylinder. The ECBD has a gap (From the core barrel wall to the ECBD inner wall to the radial direction) of 3/25~7/25 of the downcomer annulus gap. The DVI nozzle and the ECBD are only connected by the ECC water jet, which is called a hydrodynamic water bridge, during the ECC injection period. Otherwise these two components are disconnected from each other without any pipes inside the downcomer. The ECBD is an ECC downward isolation flow sub-channel which protects the ECC water from the high speed steam crossflow in the downcomer annulus during a LOCA event. The injected ECC water flows downward into the lower downcomer through the ECBD without a strong entrainment to a steam cross flow. The outer downcomer annulus of the ECBD is the major steam flow zone coming from the intact cold leg during a LBLOCA. During a DVI line break, the separated DVI nozzle and ECBD have the effect of preventing the level of the cooling water from being lowered in the downcomer due to an inlet-outlet reverse phenomenon at the lowest position of the outlet of the ECBD.

4-Aryl-2-hydroxytetronic acids which can be construded as a "lipophilic vitamin C analogue", are known to have antilipidemic and antiaggregatory activities in stead of antiscorbutic activity of vitamin C. A new compound 4-(p-chlorobiphenyl)-2-hydroxytetronic acid (8), which is structurally closely connected with the most active 4-(p-chlorophenyl)-2-hydroxytetronic acid, was synthesized from alpha-(p-chlorobiphenyl)-alpha-hydroxyacetic acid (1) through 7 steps as a potentially bioactive compound.

In this paper, we constructed a public dataset for training and evaluation of an algorithm model for Vision based Autonomous Steering Control(V-ASC), and built a benchmark environment to analyze and provide qualitative and quantitative evaluation results. We also developed a baseline V-ASC model based on the handcrafted feature and the newly proposed convolutional neural network (CNN) based end-to-end driving model to verify the evaluation environment of the constructed dataset and simulator. Through the comparative evaluation between the models, we confirmed that the proposed evaluation framework is effective for performance analysis of V-ASC.

Nanoscale Al powder with thin layer of alumina was produced by Wire Electric Explosion (WEE) process. Spark-Plasma Sintering (SPS) was performed for the produced powder to confirm the effectiveness of SPS like so-called 'surface-cleaning effect' and so on. Crystallite size and alumina content of produced powder varied with the ratio of input energy to sublimation energy of Al wire ($e/e_s$): Increase in ($e/e_s$) resulted in the decrease of crystallite size and the increase of alumina content. Shrinkage curve during SPS process showed that the oxide surface layer could not be destroyed near the melting point of Al. It implied that there was not enough or no spark-plasma effect during SPS for Al/Alumina powder.
