The Aqueous Extract of Withania coagulans Fruit Partially Reverses Nicotinamide/Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes Mellitus in Rats

        Kirtikar Shukla,Piyush Dikshit,Rimi Shukla,Jasvinder K. Gambhir 한국식품영양과학회 2012 Journal of medicinal food Vol.15 No.8

Withania coagulans fruit has been shown to possess antihyperglycemic properties and is used in the traditional Indian system of medicine. However, there has no systematic study of its mechanism of action. In a rat model diabetes mellitus (DM) was induced by intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide (230 mg/kg of body weight) followed by streptozotocin at 55 mg/kg of body weight. After 96 h, mildly diabetic (MD) (fasting plasma glucose [FPG] = 7–11.1 mmol/L) and severely diabetic (SD) (FPG > 11.1 mmol/L) rats were treated with aqueous extract of W. coagulans fruit at doses of 125, 250,and 500 mg/kg of body weight/day orally. FPG, postprandial plasma glucose (PPPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c),plasma insulin, tissue glycogen, and glucose-metabolizing enzymes were assayed at Day 30. Treatment of diabetic animals (MD and SD) with different doses of aqueous W. coagulans resulted in significantly decreased FPG, PPPG, and HbA1c (P < .01), whereas serum insulin increased significantly compared with that in diabetic-untreated rats (P < .01). MD and SD animals treated with aqueous W. coagulans also showed significant increases in liver and muscle glycogen compared with diabetic-untreated animals (P < .01). Moreover, activities of glucokinase and phosphofructokinase were also significantly increased (P < .01), whereas glucose-6-phosphatase activity was significantly decreased (P < .01) in MD and SD groups treated with aqueous W. coagulans compared with diabetic-untreated groups. The most effective dose of aqueous W. coagulans was 250 mg/kg of body weight. These results show that the aqueous extract of W. coagulans fruit has significant antihyperglycemic effects, which may be through the modulation of insulin levels and related enzyme activities.

A Novel Axial Foldable Mechanism for a Segmented Primary Mirror of Space Telescope

Dignesh Thesiya,Arra Srinivas,Piyush Shukla 한국우주과학회 2015 Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences Vol.32 No.3

Future space missions will have larger telescopes in order to look deeper into space while improvising on spatial resolution. The primary mirrors for these telescopes will be so large that using a monolithic mirror will be nearly impossible because of the difficulties associated with its fabrication, transportation, and installation on a launch vehicle. The feasibility of launching these huge mirrors is limited because of their small launch fairing diameter. The aerodynamic shape of the fairing requires a small diameter, but the height of the launch vehicle, which is available for designers to utilize, is larger than the fairing diameter. This paper presents the development of an axial deployment mechanism based on the screw jack principle. The mechanism was designed and developed, and a prototype was constructed in order to demonstrate a lab model.

Geo-based recommendation system utilising geo tagging and K-means clustering

        Amar Shukla,Tanupriya Choudhury,Nehit Benara,Piyush Garg,Aditya Tiwari,Jung‑Sup Um 대한공간정보학회 2023 Spatial Information Research Vol.31 No.3

As technology advances, recommendation systems play an increasingly significant role in everyday life. Users today receive information efficiently and effectively through location-based recommender systems on their mobile devices. Geo-tagged data and the global positioning system are used to gather information about users in location-specific recommender systems. In this busy world, coffee is also a daily requirement. Therefore, we determine whether a particular population of individuals with mobile devices or other utility devices needs recommendations for coffee shops in a particular area. This was achieved by creating a Coffee Shop recommendation system, which uses geotagging to pinpoint the location dependent on latitude and longitude. In this article, we present a machine learning approach to assigning locations to coffee shops based on geo-based location suggestions. To determine the effectiveness of the coffee shop recommendation, a population-based zone-wise analysis was also conducted.

      • In Depth Analysis of Attacks & Countermeasures in Vehicular Ad Hoc Network

Naziya Hussain,Anoop Singh,Piyush Kumar Shukla 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.10 No.12

A vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) communication is becoming an important and popular research factor in the wireless networking. It has the potential to improve road safety and travelers comfort. VANETs are distributed, self-organizing communication networks built by moving vehicles. Its differ from MANET by their architecture, characteristics and applications as well as some sort of security issues. A vehicular ad hoc network (VANETs) is very important factor for improving the road safety and comforting of the travelers. Recently VANETs have emerged to turn the attention of researchers in the field of wireless and mobile communications; they differ from MANET by their architecture, characteristics and applications as well as some sort of security issues which make them to the deployment stage, potential security and privacy issues must be addressed. It’s associate spontaneous network for the longer term Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sensible progress achieved by the investigator on study of Vehicular Ad hoc Network. However some challenges and problems still here for analysis is to be like communication, security, application, stimulation, verification and services. These solutions is classified into Public-Key Approaches, Symmetric; Hybrid Approaches and ID based mostly having the aim to construct a strong security framework for VANETs and thereby stop security attacks considerately to adapt with specific options of VANETs. In this paper we have a tendency to present the maximum aspects alongside the comparison associated with this field to assist researchers and developers to know and distinguish the most surrounding VANET in one solid document, while not the necessity to travel through different relevant papers and articles preliminary from VANET architecture by gaging up with the improving productivity of node compromise attack in vehicular Ad hoc network using Connected Dominating Set recommended general algorithmic program, that promotes the attacking productivity by destroying the network backbone and Analysis of Novel & Empirical Methods Explained Attacks & Countermeasures in Vehicular Ad Hoc Network.
