The purpose of this study lies in grasping of the whole character of Korean poetry in the modernization period. As a method of research, this study divides the modernization period into two terms. Then it examines how the poetic patterns of each term originated and died away. Furthermore, this study closely examines the individual characteristics which the poetic patterns of each poetry had and focuses on comprehending the generl character of the literature in midernization period by integrading those characteristics. As a result, we come to a conclusion that literature in the modernization period has played a decisive role in laying the foundation for the full-scale modern literature in the swirl of tension between maintenance(tradition) and change(alien culture). As a preliminary to solving the task of this study, this study has surveyed the historical background of the modernization period centering on each class in charge of literature and traced how each class chose a certain pattern of poetry according to their characteristics. As a result, we came to the conclusion that the social and cultural background which are the historical requisite to the formation of the literature of the modernization period was instrumental to understanding the basic characters and forms of the literature in the midernization period.
Comparison of drought resistance of rootstocks 'M9-T337' and 'M26' grafted with 'Huashuo' apple

Drought stress is one of the main limiting factors in apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) cultivation. Rootstock plays an important role in the drought tolerance of apple plants. ‘M.9-T337’ is a novel apple rootstock that was recently introduced and widely cultivated in China. In this study, we selected the new, widely promoted Chinese apple variety ‘Huashuo’ as the scion and grafted it onto ‘M.9-T337’ (HM9). Another combination, ‘Huashuo’/‘M.26’/Malus robusta Rehd. (HM26), served as the experimental control to analyse drought resistance in the two hybrids. We believe that this empirical approach is more representative than merely studying rootstock seedlings. After sustained drought stress for over 1 month, the leaf relative water content had decreased in both types of plants, but to a lesser extent in HM26 than in HM9. The SPAD values increased in both plants, but without significant difference. Drought stress reduced photosynthetic activity in both plants, and the net photosynthetic rate was higher in HM26 than in HM9. The observed changes in the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters indicated that drought had damaged the PSII activity centres of both plants, photosynthetic electron transfer was inhibited, and excessive excitation energy accumulated. However, compared to HM26, HM9 displayed lower maximal PSII quantum photochemical efficiency and potential PSII activity. Moreover, HM9 showed lower antioxidant enzyme activity than HM26 under drought stress. A membership function analysis confirmed that ‘M.9-T337’ was less drought resistant than ‘M.26’. Nevertheless, ‘M.9-T337’ could still recover after prolonged drought stress, indicating it also had good drought resistance.
ON FACTORIZATIONS OF THE SUBGROUPS OF SELF-HOMOTOPY EQUIVALENCES

For a pointed space X, the subgroups of self-homotopy equivalences $Aut_{\sharp}_N(X)$, $Aut_{\Omega}(X)$, $Aut_*(X)$ and $Aut_{\Sigma}(X)$ are considered, where $Aut_{\sharp}_N(X)$ is the group of all self-homotopy classes f of X such that $f_{\sharp}=id\;:\;{\pi_i}(X){\rightarrow}{\pi_i}(X)$ for all $i{\leq}N{\leq}{\infty}$, $Aut_{\Omega}(X)$ is the group of all the above f such that ${\Omega}f=id;\;Aut_*(X)$ is the group of all self-homotopy classes g of X such that $g_*=id\;:\;H_i(X){\rightarrow}H_i(X)$ for all $i{\leq}{\infty}$, $Aut_{\Sigma}(X)$ is the group of all the above g such that ${\Sigma}g=id$. We will prove that $Aut_{\Omega}(X_1{\times}\cdots{\times}X_n)$ has two factorizations similar to those of $Aut_{\sharp}_N(X_1{\times}\cdots{\times}\;X_n)$ in reference [10], and that $Aut_{\Sigma}(X_1{\vee}\cdots{\vee}X_n)$, $Aut_*(X_1{\vee}\cdots{\vee}X_n)$ also have factorizations being dual to the former two cases respectively.
A Study of Sustainable Development on Rural Ondol Residence in the Northeast of China

As we all know Ondol has been the most efficient and comfortable heating system of the rural residence in the Northeast of China for hundreds of years. But recently, through field survey, it was found that some country people replace the Ondol with homemade heating blindly. The result of this replacement is that heating effect of residence in winter is worse. And at the same time, it aggravates air pollution and increases heating payout. According to our real situation of energy sources reserve, environmental pollution and economic income of rural people, it is not only inpractical but also unreasonable, that in the northeast of China Ondol is replaced by homemade heating completely in winter. Ondol has its unique heating and hygienic efficacy. And it stands for cultural tradition and life custom of the country's cold areas. So we should improve Ondol combining resident structure and material. And it can make the Ondol system flourish with vigor and promote sustainable development of the country's traditional Ondol residence.
An Electric-Field Coupled Power Transfer System with a Double-sided LC Network

Electric-field coupled power transfer (ECPT) systems employ a high frequency electric field as an energy medium to transfer power wirelessly. Existing ECPT systems have made great progress in terms of increasing the transfer distance. However, the topologies of these systems are complex, and the transfer characteristics are very sensitive to variations in the circuit parameters. This paper proposes an ECPT system with a double-sided LC network, which employs a parallel LC network on the primary side and a series LC network on the secondary side. With the same transfer distance and output power, the proposed system is simpler and less sensitive than existing systems. The expression of the optimal driving voltage for the coupling structure and the characteristics of the LC networks are also analyzed, including the transfer efficiency, parameter sensitivity and total harmonic distortion. Then, a design method for the system parameters is provided according to these characteristics. Simulations and experiments have been carried out to verify the system properties and the design method.

<P>Highly conductive multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWNT)/Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polymerized with poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) films were prepared by spin coating a mixture solution. The solution was prepared by dispersing MWNT in the PEDOT:PSS solution in water using ultrasonication without any oxidation process. The effect of the MWNT loading in the solution on the film properties such as surface roughness, work function, surface energy, optical transparency, and conductivity was studied. The conductivity of MWNT/PEDOT:PSS composite film was increased with higher MWNT loading and the high conductivity of MWNT/PEDOT:PSS films enabled them to be used as a source/drain electrode in organic thin film transistor (OTFT). The pentacene TFT with MWNT/PEDOT:PSS S/D electrode showed much higher performance with mobility about 0.2 cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s) and on/off ratio about 5 × 10<SUP>5</SUP> compared to that with PEDOT:PSS S/D electrode (∼0.05 cm<SUP>2</SUP>/(V s), 1 × 10<SUP>5</SUP>).
