Objectives This study was designed to evaluate the effect of acupuncture on peroneal nerve palsy with sensory loss and paresthesia. Methods 28-year-old peroneal nerve palsy patient was treated with acupuncture treatment. The effects of the treatment were evaluated with Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Sensory Change, and Numeral Rating Scale(NRS) before and after treatment. Results After five treatments, VAS improved by an average of 6.5 points, improving from severe to none in terms of evaluation criteria. Sensory Change showed an average improvement of 60%. NRS improved by an average of 6.625 points, improving from severe to none in terms of evaluation criteria. Conclusions Acupuncture treatment is effective for patients with sensory loss and paresthesia due to peroneal nerve paralysis.

To handle the development of antifungal drug resistance, the development of new structural modules and new modes of action for antifungals have been highlighted recently. Here, the antifungal activity of quinonemethidal triterpenoids such as celastrol, dihydrocelastrol, iguestein, pristimerin, and tingenone isolated from Tripterygium regelii were identified (MIC 0.269- 19.02 μM). C. glabrata was the most susceptible to quinonemethide among the tested fungi. Furthermore, quinonemethide suppressed cyctochrome c peroxidase expression dramatically, decreasing fungal viability caused by the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide. Thus, cyctochrome c peroxidase downregulation of quinonemethide may be a key mode of action for antifungals.

Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is a disorder of male sexual differentiation caused by mutations within the androgen receptor gene, represents a variety of phenotypes from females with 46,XY karyotype over individuals with ambiguous genitalia to infertile males. Single base mutations resulting in amino acid substitution represent the most common mutations of the androgen receptor (AR) gene and are associated with complete AIS. The location of the gonads can be variable including, the intra-abdominal cavity, the labioscrotal folds, and the inguinal regions. Testicular descent is a two-stage process comprising transabdominal and transinguinal phases. The first phase is not controlled by androgen and may be regulated by mullerian inhibiting substance, by contrast the second phase is androgen dependent. Recently we have identified a point mutation CGA to TGA at position 607 of exon 3 in complete AIS patient, so we report it with brief review of literatures.

APC 지정시설과 APC 미지정시설의 선별대와 작업자, 공중낙하균을 대상으로 하여 미생물 오염도를 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 선별대의 경우 일반세균과 대장균군 모두 높은 수준으로 오염되어 있었고 S. aureus와 Salmonella도 검출되었다. 특히 모든 시료에서 S. aureus 의 오염이 매우 높아 제품으로의 직접적인 교차 오염이 우려되었다. 이와 같이 APC 지정시설과 APC 미지정시설간의 미생물 오염도 차이가 거의 없는 것은 기존의 APC 시설이 미생물학적 개념이 없이 단순히 저장의 용도로만 설치되었기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. 하지만 GAP제도를 도입·운영하기 위하여 APC 시설은 단순한 농산물 저장의 기능뿐만 아니라 2차 오염이 발생할 수 없는 구조를 갖추어 위생적인 선별 및 유통이 이루어져야 하고, GAP 운영의 연장선에서 관리·운영해야 할 것이다. 아울러 일정한 기간마다 시설에 대한 위해요소 분석을 하여 APC시설의 미생물학적 측면에서의 적절한 유지, 보관 여부를 모니터링 하고, 그 결과를 문서화 하여야 할 것이다. This study identified microbial risk factors in agricultural products processing center (APC) through the microbial hazard analysis to introduce good agricultural practices (GAP) system in APCs. Samples were collected from surroundings (basket, tray loader, weighing cup, collector, box) and workers by swabbing (glove and cloth) and glove juice method (hand) to enumerate total bacteria, coliform, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella. The levels of total bacterial and coliform populations recovered from surroundings were 2.4-5.7 log CFU/100 ㎠ and 2.3-5.7 log CFU/100 ㎠ or hand for surroundings, and workers, respectively samples were 2.3-5.7 log CFU/100 ㎠ or hand. Escherichia coli populations were determined to be below detection limit. S. aureus and Salmonella populations recovered from surroundings were 3.0-4.4 log CFU/100 ㎠ and close to detection limit, respectively. Corresponding bacterial populations to worker's samples were 2.8-5.2 log CFU/100 ㎠ or hand (S. aureus) and below detection limit (Salmonella). Bacterial populations of APC certified facilities were similar (p ≥ 0.05) with those of uncertified facilities. These results showed that this study should be useful in development of GAP models to improve microbial safety in APCs.
컴퓨터교육 : NXT 로봇을 활용한 상황인지로봇의 개발 및 교수학습방안

창의성 교육이 시대의 화두로 등장하면서, 로봇 교육이 창의적인 학습 환경의 도구로서 주목받고 있다. 로봇교육 은 세계적으로 그 중요성이 높아지고 있으나, 로봇을 정규교육과정에서 활용하는 것은 일부 국가나 대안학교 정도 로 교육적 활용이 매우 미미한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교육용 로봇의 효과와 활용 현황을 살펴보고, STEAM 기반 로봇 교육과 상황인지기술 등 로봇 교육의 발전 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 또한, 실제 학교 수업에서 특정 교과와 정보 교과에 활용될 수 있는 상황인지로봇과 교수학습방안을 개발하였다. 본 로봇의 개발 및 교수학 습 방안을 통하여 정규 수업에 로봇이 도입되어 적극적으로 활용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.
α-Rhamnosidase inhibitory activities of polyhydroxylated pyrrolidine

We designed and synthesized polyhydroxylated pyrrolidines 1-12 from L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine, and D-tyrosine through iodine-mediated intramolecular cyclization followed by Woodward-Prevost reaction. The synthetic polyhydroxylated pyrrolidines were identified with structure-based inhibitory activity and selective inhibitory activity against α-rhamnosidase. (2S,3S,4R)-deacetyl anisomycin 7 was the best inhibitor among the 12 polyhydroxylated pyrrolidines because it possesses the same stereoconfiguration a1 C1, C2, C3 as α-L-rhamnopyranoside. An investigation into the nature of the inhibition showed that the synthetic pyrrolidines are competitive inhibitors. They also did not have remarkable inhibitory activity against seven glycosidases (χ-glucosidase, α-mannosidase, χ-amylase, β-glucosidase, β-galactosidase, β-amylase, and invertase).
