<P>This paper presents measurements and analyses of channel propagation to investigate the channel characteristics of the millimeter wave for the indoor mobile communication system. The candidate for the promising carrier frequency is 28 GHz. We conducted the measurements considering conditions for the line of sight and the obstructed line of sight. The measurement points are located in a typical office room that is one of the main scenarios for the channel model. For channel propagation analysis, a novel channel sounder with a time synchronization scheme is introduced to combine channel measurements from different directions using an automatic scanning measurement system. With this system, omni-like power delay profiles of 28 GHz communication was successfully obtained. Furthermore, we analyze the spatial-temporal channel characteristics of an indoor environment such as path loss, delay and angular distributions, delay and angular spreads, and cross-correlation between the large-scale channel parameters.</P>

Primary retroperitoneal choriocarcinoma is an uncommon extragonadal germ cell tumor that generally has a very poor prognosis because of early hematogenous and lymphatic metastatic spread and inherent resistance to anticancer drugs. We experienced a case of cisplatin-refractory primary retroperitoneal choriocarcinoma treated successfully with a second-line regimen of etoposide, methotrexate, actinomycin D, cyclophosphamide and vincristine (EMA-CO), followed by residual surgical resection. A 32-year-old man presented with a huge palpable mass in the left upper quadrant (LUQ). He had a 1-month history of intermittent dyspepsia and LUQ pain. Computed tomography showed a 16×11-cm retroperitoneal mass and multiple liver and lung metastases. A heterogenous mass in the left testis was found on ultrasonography. However, the orchiectomy showed a subalbugineal fibrous scar close to the rete testis. We regarded this as a “burned-out” phenomenon. A liver biopsy revealed pure choriocarcinoma. Furthermore, the human chorionic gonadotropin β-subunit was elevated at 317,449 ng/ml, while the α-fetoprotein was normal, resulting in a diagnosis of primary retroperitoneal choriocarcinoma. He was given bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin (BEP) chemotherapy. After two chemotherapy cycles, the response evaluation revealed progressive disease. We used EMA-CO as a second-line regimen, as it is the regimen used most widely for gestational trophoblastic tumors. After eight cycles, the patient attained a potentially resectable state. We surgically removed all of the residual masses in the liver and retroperitoneum. Histologically, these proved to be necrotic fibrous tissue. He has remained disease-free 20 months after surgery without additional therapy. An EMA-CO regimen is a reasonable therapeutic option for cisplatin-refractory primary retroperitoneal choriocarcinoma.
IoT Open-Source and AI based Automatic Door Lock Access Control Solution

Recently, there was an increasing demand for an integrated access control system which is capable of user recognition, door control, and facility operations control for smart buildings automation. The market available door lock access control solutions need to be improved from the current level security of door locks operations where security is compromised when a password or digital keys are exposed to the strangers. At present, the access control system solution providers focusing on developing an automatic access control system using (RF) based technologies like bluetooth, WiFi, etc. All the existing automatic door access control technologies required an additional hardware interface and always vulnerable security threads. This paper proposes the user identification and authentication solution for automatic door lock control operations using camera based visible light communication (VLC) technology. This proposed approach use the cameras installed in building facility, user smart devices and IoT open source controller based LED light sensors installed in buildings infrastructure. The building facility installed IoT LED light sensors transmit the authorized user and facility information color grid code and the smart device camera decode the user informations and verify with stored user information then indicate the authentication status to the user and send authentication acknowledgement to facility door lock integrated camera to control the door lock operations. The camera based VLC receiver uses the artificial intelligence (AI) methods to decode VLC data to improve the VLC performance. This paper implements the testbed model using IoT open-source based LED light sensor with CCTV camera and user smartphone devices. The experiment results are verified with custom made convolutional neural network (CNN) based AI techniques for VLC deciding method on smart devices and PC based CCTV monitoring solutions. The archived experiment results confirm that proposed door access control solution is effective and robust for automatic door access control.

Background and Objectives: To determine the anatomic position of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) canal in patients with mandibular prognathism using the cone-beam CT (CBCT). Materials and Methods: Fifty rami from 25 patients were evaluated. The images were taken by i-CAT and reconstructed 3-dimensionally using the Simplant 11 program. The linear distances between the IAN canal to the buccal cortex (a, a+ and a), from the IAN canal to the alveolar crest (b and b+) and the anterior margin (b+) and finally the buccal cortical thickness (c, c+ and c) were measured at three reference planes (VP, OP and HP). Results: On the left side, the average distance of a, b and c were 7.12, 15.96 and 3.60 mm on the VP plane, respectively. On the OP, the distance of a+, b+ and c+ was 6.11, 8.83 and 2.63 mm. For the HP, the distance of a+, b+ and c+ was 4.84, 10.11 and 2.30 mm. On the right side, the distance of a, b and c, on the VP, was 7.10, 16.13 and 3.42 mm, respectively. On the OP, the distance of a+, b+ and c+ was 4.77, 8.75 and 2.68 mm. On the HP,the distance of a+, b+ and c+ was 4.55, 9.84 and 2.38 mm. Regarding the difference between genders, the distance in male’s was longer than female’s on the VP (p=0.019), and was thicker in males than females on the HP (p=0.002). Conclusion: The CBCT data provided accurate information about the location and course of the IAN.

The mixture of Ginseng Radix and Crataegi Fructus (Gen-CF) was developed to increase the pharmacological effect of ginseng in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and prevention of cardiovascular disease. This study evaluated the effects of Gen-CF on serum lipids of hypercholesterolemic rats in vivo, as well as its antioxidant activities in vitro, and explored its clinical effects on patients with hypercholesterolemia. In vitro, Gen-CF displayed 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrasyl and superoxide radical scavenging activities, and inhibited hemolysis induced by 2,2'-azobis-2-amidinopropane dihydrochloride in a dose-dependent manner. In vivo, Gen-CF significantly inhibited the increases of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride in high cholesterol-diet and Triton WR-1339 models. It also significantly inhibited the decrease of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in these models. In the clinical trial, Gen-CF significantly lowered total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, total lipid and phospholipid, with no adverse events, including hepatic or renal toxicity. The data suggest that Gen-CF has the potential to treat hypercholesterolemia and prevent cardiovascular disease.

<P>Gel electrolytes were synthesized by the formation of microporous organic polymers in the presence of 0.077-0.77 M LiClO4 and <I>N</I>-methylpyrrolidone. Electrochromic devices fabricated using the gel electrolytes showed enhanced operation stability, compared with those fabricated using liquid electrolytes, which is attributable to the efficient separation of working viologens from counting molecules.</P>

Microcystic adnexal carcinoma (MAC) is a locally aggressive malignant adnexal tumor displaying sweat duct and follicular differentiation. MAC usually presents as a slow-growing, yellow or erythematous plaque or nodule on central face. Typically, MAC is seen as a solitary lesion and case reports regarding multiple MACs are rarely been reported. A 43-year-old woman presented with five erythematous plaques and masses on scalp. According to the patient, about 10 years ago she underwent excisional biopsy for her occipital lesion and heard that there was cutaneous malignancy. There was no other combined systemic disease in our patient. Surgical resections were performed for five lesions on scalp. Excised specimens showed dual follicular and eccrine gland differentiation. Deeply infiltrating tumors were found and showed epidermal connection with follicular differentiations. Formation of ductal structures and intracytoplasmic lumina were also seen. Area showing ductal differentiation stained positively for carcinoembryonic antigen. The subcutaneous fat was affected and perineural invasion was observed. Histologic findings of the five lesions shared these various findings in a same spectrum. She was diagnosed as having multiple MACs and is currently on follow-up with no recurrence for a year. Herein, we present a rare case of multiple MACs on scalp in immunocompetent patient.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The role of TLR signaling in linking the innate and adaptive immune systems has been a controversial issue that remains to be solved. Here, we determined whether MyD88‐dependent TLR signals are required for the generation of B‐cell responses during chronic <I>Salmonella</I> infection. Oral administration of recombinant attenuated <I>Salmonella enterica</I> serovar Typhimurium vaccine (RASV) strain in MyD88<SUP>−/−</SUP> mice resulted in chronic infection. Infection was accompanied by enlarged germinal centers and hypergammaglobulinemia with anti‐double‐stranded DNA (dsDNA)‐specific Ab in sera, and the deposition of immune complexes in the kidneys, suggesting onset of autoimmunity. CD4<SUP>+</SUP> T cells expressing PD‐1, CXCR5, ICOS, and IL‐21 were dramatically increased in chronically infected mice, indicating the expansion of follicular helper T (Tfh)‐like cells. Of note, the depletion of CD4<SUP>+</SUP> T cells completely blocked the generation of polyclonal IgG Ab in sera after oral RASV challenge. Inflammatory myeloid cells expressing CD11b and Gr‐1 accumulated in high numbers in the spleen of MyD88<SUP>−/−</SUP> mice. Interestingly, the blockade of PD‐1 or ICOS significantly reduced the hypergammaglobulinemia and dsDNA‐specific autoantibody production. Overall, these results suggest that Tfh‐like cells in chronic bacterial infection trigger autoimmune hypergammaglobulinemia in a PD‐1‐ and ICOS‐dependent manner.</P>
