기관지성 방선균증은 매우 예외적이고 드물며 임상양상이 다양하여 폐암과의 감별이 어렵기도 하지만 기관지내시경 검사를 통해 진단할 수 있고 항생제 투여로 완치될 수 있는 질환이다. 저자들은 기관지석과 함께 발현한 기관지성 방선균증을 장기간의 경구 항생제 요법으로 완치한 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Endobronchial actmomycosis is considered as an exceptional event. We report a case of a 49-year-old woman who presented with cough and exertional dyspnea for 20 months. Her chest X-ray showed calcified lymph nodes in the right lower paratracheal and subcarinal area and consolidation in the right middle lobe. Bronchoscopic examination demonstrated whitish broncholithiasis with mucosal nodularity in the bronchus intermedius obstructing the lumen near-completely. The biopsy specimen revealed sulfur granules and calcified material which were consistent with actmomycosis. Prolonged oral antibiotic treatment resulted in complete recovery, without need for surgical resection.

Churg-Strauss syndrome is a rare systemic vasculitis characterized by presence of asthma and eosinophilia. Survival was rare in pre--steroid era. After introduction of steroid, there have been much improvement in overall survival rate and median survival. The vascultic illness usually requires high dose steroid teratment for several weeks and responds well to corticosteroids. But mononeuritis multiplex responds to steroids more gradually and sometimes requires cytotoxic drugs such as azathioprine, hydroxyurea or cyclophophamide We report a 40 year-old asthmatic female with purpuric skin lesions, pain and paresthesia of both hands and feet, left foot drop and eosinophila. Skin and nerve biopsy demonstrated necrotizing vascultis with perivascular infiltration of eosinophils. Nerve conduction studies showed changes compatible with mononeuritis multiplex. Purpuric skin lesion disappeared and both eosinophilia and sedimentation rate decreased into normal range within a week after steroid treatment whereas neurologic symptoms

In spite of dedicating intensive effort to control the enteric infectious diseases, a number of typhoid fever have been prevailed in the province for many years. The authors have made bacteriologically and serrologicaily investigation to find out the distribution of typhoid carriers and of apparent cases in the province from January to December of 1972. The obtained results are summerized as follows; 1. Among the 15492 specimens, 222 of Salmonella groups and 3 strains of shigella group were isolated. 2. Among the 222 strains of ealmonella, Isolated 207 of S. typhi, 2 of S.typhimurium, 11 of S.enter!tidis and 2 strains of S.berta identified. 3. Among Salmonella typhi isolated;61 strains from clinical cases, 13 from experienced cases (1969-1971), 117 form the contacts or families, with the patients 16 from normal food handlers.

자화도를 측정함으로써 gadolinium박막의 강자성에서 상자성으로의 전이온도를 결정했다. 박막의 전이온도는 박막의 두께가 얇아짐에 따라 점점 더 bulk계의 전이온도보다 낮아지는 것이 관측되었으며 이 현상은 박막계의 유한성에 의해 일어나는 현상으로 알려져 있다. 우리는 이 결과를 유한효과 및 유한 축척이론에 근거하여 설명하였다. We determine the Curie temperature of thin gadolinium films by the measurement of magnetization as a function of temperature. From these data, we observe the Curie temperature shift in films from the bulk value, and also see the systematic behavior of this shift with thicknesses of films, that is, the larger the shift is, the thinner the film is. In this paper, we analyze and explain these results in light of finite-size scaling theory.

가돌리늄 박막의 큐리온도를 자기화의 온도에 따른 변화를 측정함으로써 결정하였다. 박막의 큐리온도는 bulk계의 큐리온도보다 낮아지며 이 박막에서의 큐리온도의 이동은 두께가 얇아질수록 커진다는 것이 관측되었다. 이 실험결과를 유한축적 이론의 관점에서 분석한 결과 전이온도의 이동에 관련된 지수 λ는 0.82±0.13로서 이론적인 값의 1.48과 상치한다는 사실이 발견되었다. 이러한 유한계의 실험치와 유한축척이론과 차이는 여러 유한계에서 관측되었다. Silver-coated graphene electrode produced by electrolytic deposition for electrochemical behaviors

This study evaluates the excellent electrochemical performance of silver (Ag)-coated graphene electrode using an electrolytic deposition technique. Ag particles are introduced to the graphene surface as a function of the applied current. A half cell of the Ag-coated graphene electrode is fabricated to examine the electrochemical performance, such as the charge-discharge behaviors, cyclic voltammetry, and specific capacitance. As a result, the electrochemical performance of the Ag-coated graphene electrode is two times higher than that of the crude graphene electrode.
Aging Study with High-Level Radiation Sources for the CMS Forward RPCs

An aging study with intensive radiation sources was performed for the forward resistive plate chambers (RPCs) of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector in the Large Hadron Collider experiment (LHC). The expected rate of the radiation background to be induced in the forward RPCs ranges from a few tens of Hz/㎠ to as much as ~1 kHz/㎠. Therefore, the radiation hardness for the forward RPCs should be sufficient to ensure the safe operation of the CMS and successful achievement of the LHC physics. Two oil-coated and one plain double-gap RPCs were manufactured and tested with the neutron beam provided by the MC50 cyclotron of the Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Science (KIRAMS) and with gamma rays from a 200-mCi137Cs source. The estimated radiation dose induced by the fast neutrons was approximately 50 Gy. No significant aging effect was found to be a consequence of the neutron irradiation, However, a degradation of the RPC performance was observed after intense gamma irradiation for a total of 32.5 days. The mean gamma-signal rate drawn in each RPC was 4.0 kHz/㎠, which was approximately two times the maximum rate expected in the highest η-region covering the particle trigger. Increases in the noise rates and the currents accounted for the degradation in the efficiencies for the RPCs. As a result, safe operation of the forward RPCs in the avalanche mode was ensured for signal rates up to 2 kHz/㎠.
