<P/><P>Inhibition of Bcr-Abl kinase activity by imatinib for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) currently serves as the paradigm for targeting dominant oncogenes with small molecules. We recently reported the discovery of GNF-2 (<B>1</B>) and GNF-5 (<B>2</B>) as selective non-ATP competitive inhibitors of cellular Bcr-Abl kinase activity that target the myristate binding site. Here, we used cell-based structure−activity relationships to guide the optimization and diversification of ligands that are capable of binding to the myristate binding site and rationalize the findings based upon an Abl−compound <B>1</B> cocrystal. We elucidate the structure−activity relationships required to obtain potent antiproliferative activity against Bcr-Abl transformed cells and report the discovery of new compounds (<B>5g</B>,<B> 5h</B>,<B> 6a</B>,<B> 14d</B>, and <B>21j-I)</B> that display improved potency or pharmacological properties. This work demonstrates that a variety of structures can effectively target the Bcr-Abl myristate binding site and provides new leads for developing drugs that can target this binding site.</P>

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of $(\in,\in\vee q)$-fuzzy congruence relation over ring and discuss some properties of the $(\in,\in\vee q)$-fuzzy congruence relation. We also establish a brief relation between $(\in,\in\vee q)$-fuzzy ideal and $(\in,\in\vee q)$-fuzzy congruence relation. The image and preimage of $(\in,\in\vee q)$-fuzzy congruence are also studied under the so called semibalanced map.

The reactions of ketene dithioacetals with ethane-1,2-diamine, propane-1,3-diamine, 2-aminoethanol, 3-aminopropanol,and 2-aminoethanethiol in ordinary water in the absence of any acid/base catalyst afforded the heterocyclic ketene N,N-, N,O- and N,S-acetals in good yields.

Synthesis and Characterization of Highly Conjugated Cyclopenta[def]phenanthrene-Based Polymers

Three blue light-emitting cyclopenta[def]phenanthrene-based conjugated polymers were synthesized using the Yamamoto coupling reaction and their optical, thermal, and electrochemical properties were examined. The results indicated that the number-average molecular weights of compounds 11, 12, and 13 were 16,400, 11,000,and 10,400, respectively. The polymers were soluble in common solvents, such as toluene, chloroform, etc. Their structures were confirmed using 1H NMR, mass, and FTIR spectroscopy. Homopolymer 11 showed stable blue emission with a photoluminescence peak at 408 nm in solution and at 456 nm in thin film form. Moreover, polymers 11, 12, and 13 exhibited high thermal stability up to 340 oC, 333 oC, and 380 oC, respectively.
