Radiation ulcers can occur as a complication following exposure to ionizing radiation. Advances in medical technology, followed by the wider range of radiation application in recent decades has steadily increased the incidence of radiation ulcers. Radiation causes hypoxia, hypovascularity, and hypocellularity in tissues. Moreover, the surrounding skin adjacent to the radiation ulcer lacks follicular stem cells and is more prone to chronic, non-healing wounds. While no guidelines have been established regarding optimal treatment, management facilitating angiogenesis and migration of fibrogenic cells can be a recommended option, considering the etiology of ulcers induced by radiation exposure. Herein, we present a patient exposed to prolonged radiation during a fluoroscopic intervention procedure, who had developed a vast radiation ulcer at his coccyx, and was completely treated with injectable acellular dermal matrix combined with 14 weeks of negative pressure wound therapy.

Pressure sores are common but troublesome for both patients and clinicians. They can range from mild to severe and must be managed accordingly. Despite advancements in both non-surgical and surgical intervention, no standard treatment protocol has yet been established. Since pressure sores can occur in a variety of clinical settings, treatment must be individualized to the patient’s circumstances. Recently, acellular dermal matrix (ADM) has been utilized as an alternative treatment for non-healing wounds. In the present report, we describe the case of a non-ambulatory patient in whom a large pressure sore located near the anus was completely cured using CG paste, an injectable ADM.

Accurate and efficient microbial diagnosis is crucial for effective molecular diagnostics, especially in the field of human healthcare. The gold standard equipment widely employed for detecting specific microorganisms in molecular diagnosis is quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). However, its limitations in low metagenomic DNA yield samples necessitate exploring alternative approaches. Digital PCR, by quantifying the number of copies of the target sequence, provides absolute quantification results for the bacterial strain. In this study, we compared the diagnostic efficiency of qRT-PCR and digital PCR in detecting a particular bacterial strain (Staphylococcus aureus), focusing on skin-derived DNA samples. Experimentally, specific primer for S. aureus were designed at transcription elongation factor (greA) gene and the target amplicon were cloned and sequenced to validate efficiency of specificity to the greA gene of S. aureus. To quantify the absolute amount of microorganisms present on the skin, the variable region 5 (V5) of the 16S rRNA gene was used, and primers for S. aureus identification were used to relative their amount in the subject's skin. The findings demonstrate the absolute convenience and efficiency of digital PCR in microbial diagnostics. We suggest that the high sensitivity and precise quantification provided by digital PCR could be a promising tool for detecting specific microorganisms, especially in skin-derived DNA samples with low metagenomic DNA yields, and that further research and implementation is needed to improve medical practice and diagnosis.

디지털 정보의 활용이 보편화된 최근의 사회는 수사와 재판과정에도 많은 변화를 주었다. 사람들의 행위에 따르는 법적인 문제들을 해결하기 위해서는 디지털 방식의 자료들을 이용할 수 밖에 없으며, 특히나 산업보안 수사에서 디지털 자료는 필수 불가결하다. 대부분의 기술유출사건이 이동식 저장매체 또는 네트워크와 같은 디지털 자료를 이용하여 발생하기 때문이다. 이렇듯 디지털 증거의 중요성이 날로 증가하고 있는 상황에서 증거로서의 능력을 인정받기 위해서는 과학적이고 객관적인 절차를 필요로 한다. 하지만 기하급수적으로 늘고있는 디지털 증거에 대한 기술력과 분석력에 비해 디지털 포렌식 관련 법과 제도의 확립은 아직 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구를 통해 디지털 포렌식 관련 연구동향을 파악하고 연구 활성화를 위한 객관적인 데이터를 제공하고자 한다.

In recent years, two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have been attracted promising candidates for imminent electrical and optical device applications owing to their remarkable properties and unique structures. In this study, we report the optical and electrical characteristics of the newest member of the TMD family, i.e. monolayer of rhenium disulfide ( ReS2) field effect transistor on a SiO2/ Si substrate developed using the chemical vapor deposition technique. The quality of the as-grown monolayer of ReS2 was evaluated through Raman spectroscopy, whereas the surface elemental composition was analyzed thorough X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The optical properties of this monolayer TMD were analyzed using photoluminescence spectroscopy, and the contact resistance between the as-grown semiconducting monolayer and the metal electrodes was examined using the transmission line modeling method. Ti/Au electrodes form an excellent ohmic contact with the monolayers of the ReS2 film. The electron mobility of the monolayer ReS2 FETs fabricated through transmission line patterning was investigated at room temperature (300 K) and found to be 2.91 ×10–2 cm2 V− 1 s− 1 whereas the on/off ratio of the device was 9.8 × 102.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, a variety of devices that accumulate a range of data and electronic information are connected to the internet. This information is intelligently processed to create new services. As a result, the range of security risks is expanded, and the risk of compromise of electronic information is increasing. To combat this risk, research and investments in electronic information security technology is steadily increasing, and various security systems are being steadily developed. However, since electronic information security technology suitable for the IoT environment is not classified, many security systems perform redundant functions. The use of redundant security systems not only wastes costs in terms of security management, but also inefficiently performs security operations.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A classification of electronic information security in IoT environment is proposed. </LI> <LI> Based on the constructed classification, a meta analysis of S. Korea was conducted. </LI> <LI> Using the results, ideal security management to each classification can be practiced. </LI> </UL> </P>
