In response to microbial infection, expression of the defensin-like peptide hepcidin (encoded by Hamp) is induced in hepatocytes to decrease iron release from macrophages. To elucidate the mechanism by which Salmonella enterica var. Typhimurium (S. typhimurium), an intramacrophage bacterium, alters host iron metabolism for its own survival, we examined the role of nuclear receptor family members belonging to the NR3B subfamily in mouse hepatocytes. Here, we report that estrogen-related receptor γ (ERRγ, encoded by Esrrg) modulates the intramacrophage proliferation of S. typhimurium by altering host iron homeostasis, and we demonstrate an antimicrobial effect of an ERRγ inverse agonist. Hepatic ERRγ expression was induced by S. typhimurium–stimulated interleukin-6 signaling, resulting in an induction of hepcidin and eventual hypoferremia in mice. Conversely, ablation of ERRγ mRNA expression in liver attenuated the S. typhimurium–mediated induction of hepcidin and normalized the hypoferremia caused by S. typhimurium infection. An inverse agonist of ERRγ ameliorated S. typhimurium–mediated hypoferremia through reduction of ERRγ–mediated hepcidin mRNA expression and exerted a potent antimicrobial effect on the S. typhimurium infection, thereby improving host survival. Taken together, these findings suggest an alternative approach to control multidrug-resistant intracellular bacteria by modulating host iron homeostasis.

본 연구에서는 이차목 디퓨저(STED)의 배압(Pa)에 따른 시동특성 및 정상상태에서의 유동특성을 실험적으로 관찰하였다. 디퓨저 배압(Pa)을 조절하기 위해 디퓨저 후단에 이젝터를 장착하였으며, 디퓨저와 이젝터 작동을 위해 고압의 상온 기체 질소를 사용하였다. 실험을 통해 다양한 디퓨저 노즐 전단압력(P0)과 배압(Pa)에서 디퓨저의 시동압력비((P0/Pa)st)는 일정한 것을 확인하였으며, 압력비(P0/Pa)가 같다면 디퓨저 내부유동 특성이 동일한 것을 확인하였다. Startup and steady state internal flow characteristics of a Second Throat Exhaust Diffuser(STED) have been investigated experimentally according to diffuser back pressure(Pa). An ejector device was installed at the exit of diffuser for adjusting diffuser back pressure. And high pressure nitrogen gas was used for cold gas flow test to operate ejector and diffuser. The test results show that a startup pressure ratio((P0/Pa)st) has a fixed value even though nozzle inlet pressure(P0) and diffuser back pressure(Pa) have various values. Also, internal flow characteristics of diffuser at steady state is unchanged under the identical pressure ratio(P0/Pa) condition.

본 논문에서는 안개 제거의 수행 시간을 단축하기 위한 최적화 기법들을 제안하고, 이를 기반으로 하는 효율적인 안개 제거방법을 제시한다. 제안하는 최적화 기법으로, 다크 채널을 동일 크기의 영역으로 분할하여 분산 정렬을 적용하여 대기 강도를 추정함으로써 대기 강도 추정에 필요한 정렬의 연산을 간소화하였고, 대기 강도를 단색으로 가정하여 전달량 추정에 필요한 영상 정규화 과정을 간소화하였다. 또한, 메디안 다크 채널을 도입하여 안개 제거 품질을 유지하면서도 전달량 보정 과정을 효과적으로 제거하였다. 제안하는 기법들을 바탕으로 효율적인 안개 제거 방법을 제시하였고, 이의 우수성을 입증하기 위해 프로토타입 시스템을 개발하여 성능을 분석하였다. 제안하는 안개 제거 방법은 기존 방법과 비교하여 대등한 안개 제거 품질을 보이면서도 수행 시간을 최대 65% 단축하였다. This paper presents optimization techniques to reduce the processing time of the dehazing method and proposes an efficient dehazing method based on them. In the proposed techniques, the atmospheric light is estimated based on the distributed sorting of the dark channel pixels, so as to reduce the computations. The normalization process required in the transmission estimation is simplified by the assumption that the atmospheric light is monochromatic. In addition, the dark channel is modified into the median dark channel in order to eliminate the transmission refinement process while achieving a comparable dehazing quality. The proposed dehazing method based on the optimization techniques is presented and its performance is investigated by developing a prototype system. When compared to the previous method, the proposed dehazing method reduces the processing time by 65% while maintaining the dehazing quality.
액체산소/에탄올 엔진 연소시험 설비 구축 및 예비 운영 시험

본 연구에서는 향후에 다양한 목적으로 사용될 수 있는 액체산소/에탄올 추진제 조합의 로켓 엔진 연소시험 설비를 구축하고, 이 설비에 대한 운용 능력을 평가하기 위하여 예비 운영 시험을 수행하였다. 추진제는 가압 방식에 의해 공급되며, 이를 위해 고압용 추진제 탱크와 가압 및 공급 설비를 구축하였다. 그리고 다중 분사기 엔진을 설계/제작하였으며, 수류시험과 실유체 분무 시험을 통해 이 엔진의 분무 특성과 유량 공급 특성을 관찰하였다. 최종적으로 연소시험을 통하여 액체산소/에탄올 엔진과 연소시험 설비의 안정성을 검증하였다. In this study, LOx/Ethanol rocket engine combustion test facility was constructed which can be used for various purpose in the future and preliminary operational tests were performed to evaluate the operational capability. The facility consists of run tanks, pressurization and supply system. Also a multi injector rocket engine was designed and manufactured and the engine’s cold flow and propellents spray tests were performed to observe spray and supply characteristics as well. Finally, stability of the LOx/Ethanol engine and combustion test facility were verified by combustion tests.

By combining conventional single cell analysis with flow cytometry and public database searches with bioinformatics tools, we extended the expression profiling of thymic stromal cotransporter (TSCOT), Slc46A2/Ly110, that was shown to be expressed in bipotent precursor and cortical thymic epithelial cells. Genome scale analysis verified TSCOT expression in thymic tissue- and cell type- specific fashion and is also expressed in some other epithelial tissues including skin and lung. Coexpression profiling with genes, Foxn1 and Hoxa3, revealed the role of TSCOT during the organogenesis. TSCOT expression was detected in all thymic epithelial cells (TECs), but not in the $CD31^+$endothelial cell lineage in fetal thymus. In addition, ABC transporter-dependent side population and Sca-$1^+$ fetal TEC populations both contain TSCOT-expressing cells, indicating TEC stem cells express TSCOT. TSCOT expression was identified as early as in differentiating embryonic stem cells. TSCOT expression is not under the control of Foxn1 since TSCOT is present in the thymic rudiment of nude mice. By searching variations in the expression levels, TSCOT is positively associated with Grhl3 and Irf6. Cytokines such as IL1b, IL22 and IL24 are the potential regulators of the TSCOT expression. Surprisingly, we found TSCOT expression in the lung is diminished in lung cancers, suggesting TSCOT may be involved in the suppression of lung tumor development. Based on these results, a model for TEC differentiation from the stem cells was proposed in context of multiple epithelial organ formation.

This study posits that satisfaction/dissatisfaction can occur before the purchase of goods and services due to freemium (i.e., free and premium) models in the mobile game environment. Satisfaction/dissatisfaction before purchasing behavior might affect purchase intention and/or intention to use O2O services which is widely applied in the mobile game environment as a promotional tool. The purpose of the study is to explore the relationships among major components including utilitarian value, hedonic value, perceived risks, attitude, satisfaction, dissatisfaction, purchase intention, intention to use O2O service, and loyalty in the mobile game environment. An online survey was performed to collect the data and factor and regression analyses were applied. The findings of this study indicate that dissatisfaction may have a positive effect on purchase intention, while satisfaction is still the dominant factor in users’ behavior, and therefore satisfying the users should be prioritized, rather than devising the pricing scheme to make the users pay more.
