Background and Purpose The purpose of this study was to confirm that what symptoms are adequated indicator in the Gi-Deficiency patients. Methods In the time period July. 2005 to Sep. 2006, 136 patients with a first-ever stroke admitted in the department of Internal Medicine of Daejeon University Oriental Medical Hospital in Daejeon city, Wonkwang Oriental Medical Hospital in Iksan, Jeonju city were included. Patients were hospitalized within 3 months after the onset of stroke. Stroke patients had been interviewed by resident who studied standard operation procedures in Fundamental Study for Standardization and Objectification of Differentiation and Pattern Identification of Syndrome of Oriental Medicine for Stroke. Gi-deficiency patients was confirmed by medical specialist diagnosis, resident diagnosis, case report form analysis without a dissenting voice. Results Gi deficiency group included 23 case, Non Gi deficiency group 47 case out of 136 patients. Fatigue, weakness purse, somnolence, low voice, difficulty of uprise, pale face, pale tongue were higher among Gi deficiency group. Gi deficiency and Non Gi deficiency patients do not significantly differ in white coating tongue, light-red tongue, poor appetite, frequent sweating, teeth printed tongue. Conclusions This study was insufficiency because sample size is very small. More data from prospective cohort studies will help to Korean Standard Differentiation of the Symptoms and Signs for the Stroke.
Nexus between Inflation, Inflation Perceptions and Expectations

We uncover a nexus between actual inflation, inflation perceptions and expectations in Korea through analyzing micro as well as aggregate data from the Consumer Survey. We document two novel findings. First, households' subjective perceptions of inflation exert more impact on expectation formation than actual inflation. Second, inflation perceptions are broadly in line with the trajectory of the inflation trend. This is attributable to the fact that changes in actual inflation have been generated mainly by the consumption items whose price changes are perceived more sensitively as those items are frequently bought or have a larger share in household expenditures. Conducting a cross-country comparison, we find that information rigidity in expectation formation process and the nexus between perceptions and expectations of inflation prove to be stronger in Korea. Additionally, we reconfirm the existing finding that the scope of information utilized for forming inflation expectations is fairly circumscribed.

Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157:H7 is well-characterized as an important food-borne pathogen worldwide and causes human diseases such as diarrhea, hemorrhagic colitis, and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) by producing shiga-like toxin (Stx). It has been reported that a number of dairy foods, including cheese, can act as the source of EHEC O157:H7 infections. In addition to the toxicity of Stx, recently it has been indicated that EHEC O157:H7 possesses virulence factors related to attachment, quorum sensing, and biofilms. Moreover, these novel virulence factors might become critical points to be considered in the future production of food derived from animals. Here, we review the evidences that support these insights on new virulence factors and discuss the potential mechanisms mediating the pathogenesis of EHEC O157:H7 in the dairy food industry.

Oscillator with High Harmonic Suppression Using Split Quarterwave Microstrip Resonator

This letter presents a new type of resonator, namely, the split quarterwave microstrip resonator (SQMR), to improve the poor harmonic suppression and low Q-factors in conventional quarterwave microstrip resonators. An oscillator incorporating the proposed SQMR is designed, fabricated, and tested to demonstrate that, not only the second harmonic suppression, but also the phase noise of the oscillator can be improved. The oscillator with the SQMR shows improved second harmonic suppression of –74.59 dBc and phase noise figure of merit of –169.77 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset.
