The purpose of this study was to relationship between self-esteem and employment, appearance. This survey was performed on 483 of university students in some regions. The research was performed using a self-reported questionnaire. Self-esteem was higher in the first, fourth grade and college of military science & police administration, college of medical science. Job-seeking stress was higher in the fourth grade and college of global business adminstration, college of medical engineering. Job preparation behavior was higher in the fourth grade and college of rehabilitation & welfare education. Interest in appearance & appearance management behavior was higher in the female, fourth grade, college of global business adminstration. Higher self-esteem group showed significant interactive effects between the job preparation behavior, appearance management behavior. Job-seeking stress has also been investigated as a much higher employment preparation behavior. In conclusion, increasing the self-esteem of education in the college will be able to raise the employment.

Interests in creating three-dimensionally designed fabric materials are growing rapidly in the sectors of the fashionable textiles with the creativity, new functions, and aesthetics. A number of finishing methods have been developed and proposed to add or create new functions and designs for silk fabrics. Due to the strong hydrogen bonds between the molecules of silk fibroins, the thermal treatment methods used in thermoplastic fiber processing, which can easily deform the synthetic filament fabrics to endow three-dimensional appearance to the fabrics, are not applicable to the silk fabric treatment. In order to modify the fine structure of silk fiber, neutral salt solution treatment methods have been suggested. In this study, the effect of the calcium nitrate solution on the physical and mechanical properties of silk fabrics was investigated by using the KES(Kawabata Evaluation System) equipment. Based on these findings, relationships between parameters, for example, the thickness and the compressional energy, the thickness and the compressional linearity, and the air permeability and the pore area statistical analysis were investigated. The relationships between the process parameters such as treatment temperature/time and the resulting fabric property parameters were also analyzed by using several SAS procedures.

Background: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma with a variety of clinicopathological features. A single center-based large scale study with long-term follow up in Korea has not been reported. Objectives: To investigate epidemiologic features and clinical outcomes of MF patients at the authors’ hospital over a 27-year period. Methods: This is a pilot study conducted on 151 patients diagnosed as MF, from 1991 to 2018, with the retrospective review. Results: Of 151 patients, 62.9% were male and 37.1% female. The mean age at the diagnosis was 44.2 years (range, 5-82). The mean duration of symptoms was 50.4 months (range, 0.25-360). The mean follow-up duration was 57.6 months (range, 2-251). Common subtypes were classic MF (45.0%), mycosis fungoides palmaris et plantaris (MFPP) (23.8%), and folliculotropic MF (7.9%). In early-stage MF (IA-IIA) of 143 patients (94.7%), the 10-year overall survival (OS) was 93.6%. In advancedstage MF (IIB-IVB) of eight patients (5.3%), the 10-year OS was 23.4%. Complete remission (CR) and disease progression were found in 63.6% and 4.6% of the patients. The recurrence after CR was observed in 33 patients (21.9%) and the mean recurrence free-duration was 24.1 months (range, 1-118). Conclusion: Clinical outcomes generally paralleled the previous reports with favorable prognosis in the earlystage MF. Recurrence was not uncommon, largely due to greater prevalence of MFPP.
The Effect of Proprioceptive Position Sense by Lumbar Flexors and Extensors

Purpose: Muscle fatigue affects proprioception, and it causes problems in spinal stability. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect on the accuracy of reproducing the lumbar angles before lumbar exercise and after fatiguing isokinetic lumbar exercise. Methods: Thirty healthy adults participated in this study. Before induction of fatigue by exercise, the proprioception was measured by Biodex. Lumbar positions were passively maintained on stimulation position (25o flexion and 25o extension), and back to the starting position. Subjects actively repositioned the remembered stimulation position, and error degrees between the stimulation position and reposition were measured. Using an isokinetic device at 120o/sec of velocity of angle lumbar flexion/extension exercise resulted in muscle fatigue. The post-fatigue proprioceptive position sense was used in the same way as in pre-fatigue measurement. Results: Means of position sense of pre-fatigue were 2.19±1.97 on flexion angle, and 5.04±2.84 on extension angle. After exercise induced fatigue, means of position sense were 2.37±1.83 on flexion angle, and 4.93±2.57 on extension angle. Results of this study showed significant differences of lumbar proprioceptive position sense between pre- and post-fatigue. Conclusion: Lumbar proprioception sense in active repositioning in flexion and extension was affected in the presence of muscle fatigue. Therefore, it should be noted that therapeutic exercise for patients with abnormal proprioceptive sense or elderly people must be performed with care because muscle fatigue can cause secondary damage.
Self-Aligned Nanoforest in Silicon Nanowire for Sensitive Conductance Modulation

<P>A self-aligned and localized nanoforest structure is constructed in a top-down fabricated silicon nanowire (SiNW). The surface-to-volume ratio (SVR) of the SiNW is enhanced due to the local nanoforest formation. The conductance modulation property of the SiNWs, which is an important characteristic in sensor and charge transfer based applications, can be largely enhanced. For the selective modification of the channel region, localized Joule-heating and subsequent metal-assisted chemical etching (mac-etch) are employed. The nanoforest is formed only in the channel region without misalignment due to the self-aligned process of Joule-heating. The modified SiNW is applied to a porphyrin-silicon hybrid device to verify the enhanced conductance modulation. The charge transfer efficiency between the porphyrin and the SiNW, which is caused by external optical excitation, is clearly increased compared to the initial SiNW. <P>A porphyrin-silicon nanowire (Si-NW) hybrid field-effect transistor is introduced. The hybrid device has separate electrical and optical gates surrounding the Si-NW channel. Porphyrin, a component of chlorophyll, is employed as an optical gate to modulate the potential of the Si-NW channel. Due to the independently formed hybrid gates, both optical and electrical excitation can effectively modulate the device. The exposed porphyrin optical gate responds to the optical excitation, and independently formed electrical gates respond to the electrical excitation. Charge transfer characteristics between a semiconductor channel and the porphyrin optical gate are deeply investigated. Optical, electrical, and opto-electrical excitation methods are employed to analyze the charging and discharging behaviors. Of these methods, opto-electrical excitation enables the strongest charge transfer because the inversion electron formation by an electrical pulse and the photoinduced charge transfer by an optical stimulus are affected simultaneously. Discharging processes, such as rapid discharging, exponential detrapping, and the formation of metastable states are also analyzed.</P>
The First Case of Novel Influenza A (H1N1) Fatality in Korea

Here we report the first fatality caused by H1N1 influenza virus infection with acute respiratory distress syndrome in Korea. A 55-year-old man presented at our emergency department with dyspnea, fever, diffuse myalgia and malaise. Bilateral lung air-space consolidation was detected on his initial chest radiograph combined with severe hypoxemia. He was supported by mechanical ventilation and treated with antibiotics. A nasopharyngeal aspirate was positive for influenza A rapid antigen and oseltamivir was started on day 3 of admission. The nasal swab sample was positive for influenza H1N1 virus by real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. Despite aggressive treatment, he had refractory hypoxemia and uncontrolled septic shock. On day 5 of admission he went into cardiac arrest and expired.
