Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It is indeed a great honour for me to speak at this International Child Rights Forum at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul Korea. In particular, may I warmly thank Professor Yanghee Lee and her colleagues for organising this superb seminar. Professor Yanghee Lee came to know my wife and I when Yanghee and I were Chairpersons respectively of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (which I shall call the CRC Committee), and of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (which I shall call the CRPD Committee). I have learned so much from Professor Lee, and this makes it an added pleasure to speak here today. In this presentation, I will examine the human rights of children with disabilities in the three following segments. First, I will consider the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (which I shall call the CRPD). I will unpack its articles which are relelvant to children to illustrate its protective features and show how it enshrines the human rights of children with disabilities. Secondly, I will consider the work of the CRPD Committee, which is the monitoring body of the CRPD,. The CRPD Committee has been concerned about children with disabilities in all of its constructive dialogues. Finally, it is appropriate for me to say a few words about the High-Level Meeting on Disabilities and Development (which I shall call the HLMDD) which took place at the United Nations headquarters in New York on 23 September 2013. I will explain the background to this meeting and explore its Outcome Document, which I hope will play a key role in the development of a new framework for development in the post Millennium Development Goals era.

The sociocultural stress and coping model (SSCM) emphasizes the importance of cultural beliefs in the process of caregiving. The revised SSCM highlights a common core model can be seen across cultures and posits that specific cultural variables possess multidimensional characteristics. Research indicates that the culture-specific measures of familism, social support and stress-related growth may serve as good examples to apply the revised SSCM to Korean, Korean-American and African-American caregivers. Other culture-specific measures applying to other ethnic groups should continue to be sought out.

Gastroparesis (GP), defined as delayed gastric emptying in the absence of any mechanical obstruction, is a challenging clinical condition, mainly because of limited treatment options. Studies in animal models of delayed gastric emptying as well as patients with gastroparesis revealed depletion or ultrastructural changes of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastric tissue, recently termed ICC-opathy. ICC are the pacemakers of the gastrointestinal tract and are involved in the transmission of the neuronal signaling to the smooth muscles. Therefore, lack of ICC could be one explanation of delayed gastric emptying in gastroparetic patients. How frequently ICC changes are observed in gastroparesis is not yet clear. In this review, the data on gastric ICC counts and morphology in animal models and patients with gastroparesis are discussed.(J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2015;21:486-493)
Strategic coating of NdFeB magnets with Dy to improve the coercivity of permanent magnets

We present a method, supported by theoretical analysis, for optimizing the usage of the critical rare earth element dysprosium in $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ (NdFeB)-based permanent magnets. In this method, we use Dy selectively in locations such as magnet edges and faces, where demagnetization factors are largest, rather than uniformly throughout the bulk sample. A200 nm thick Dy film was sputtered onto a commercial N-38, NdFeB magnets with a thickness of 3 mm and post-annealed at temperatures from $600-700^{\circ}C$. Magnets displayed enhanced coercivities after post-annealing and as much as a 5 % increase in the energy product, while requiring a total Dy content of 0.06 wt. % - a small fraction of that used in the commercial grade Dy-NdFeB magnets. By assuming all Dy diffused into NdFeB magnets, the improvement in energy product corresponds to a saving of over 1% Dy (critical element). Magnets manufactured using this technique will therefore be higher performing which would potentially broaden the application space of these magnets in the traction motors of hybrid and pure electric vehicles, and wind generators.

<P>The results indicate that the photovoltaic water pumping systems provide high potential for improving forage productivity, contributing to meet the local demand. The optimal areas are highly sensitive to several environmental and economic parameters such as increased forage potential yield, forage management costs, forage water requirements, ground water depth, forage price and CO2 price. Most of the optimal areas are selected when the market forage price ranges from 300 to 500 $/tonne DM, indicating that the forage produced using PVWP technology for irrigation is already competitive compared to the imported forage.
