Methane measurements from weekly air samples collected at Tae-ahn Peninsula. Korea (TAP) present new constraints on the regional methane source strength of eastern Asia. Analysis of atmospheric trajectories shows that the lowest methane values observed at Tae-ahn are associated with southeasterly flow off the tropical Pacific Ocean and are similar to those observed at Cape Kumukahi, Hawaii. During June to August, northwesterly flow from the peat-rich wetlands located in the maritime provinces of the Far East former Soviet Union elevates methane at TAP by∼80 ppb above the annual mean. Analysis of the Tae-ahn observations using a 3-D atmospheric methane model suggests that methane emission rates from the Far East Soviet wetlands may be∼2 time those of Alaskan wetlands. Also, the relative maximum in May/June at Tae-ahn constrains global CH₄emissions from rice cultivation to∼100 Tgyr-¹.

Heteroleptic ruthenium-complexed ladder-like structured polysilsesquioxane (LPSQ-Ru) was synthesized by post coordination reaction of bidentate ligand side chains in LPSQ with reactive Ru(II) complexes, which was well characterized by 1H and 29Si NMR, FT-IR, and spectroscopic techniques. The photophysical properties of LPSQ-Ru were examined by UV and PL analyses in both solution and solid states, comparing to analogous polymers of rutheniumcomplexed polystyrene (PS-Ru). Obtained absorptions of LPSQ-Ru and PS-Ru were broadened ranging from 390-490 nm regardless of the states. However, LPSQ-Ru exhibited higher and shaper PL emission spectrum in comparison to that of PS-Ru, particularly in the solid state, because Ru-complexes in LPSQ were much effectively isolated, preventing their aggregations due to the rigid double strained siloxane backbone. This extinguished photophysical property in LPSQ-Ru kept after intensive thermal treatment at 250 °C for 90 min, which was not achieved in PS-Ru (~5-fold decrease). These differences originated from the backbone structures were also appeared in electrochemical properties in the solid states.

The problem of this research is correlate to the doing business report of 2020 in which minority shareholders’ rights in Qatar were assessed to be in a deteriorated position. The driving force of this deterioration is related to the power that controlling shareholders exert in curbing any development of an efficient minority shareholder remedy system. Controlling shareholders are prevalent in publicly held companies on the Qatar Stock Exchange. Their presence shifts the agency problem from one of agent-principal agency to one of principal-principal agency. This article highlights the inefficiency of the substantive and procedural rules for the company liability actions available to shareholders. It argues that company liability actions have been designed to foster controlling shareholders’ immunity against future claims. This is dysfunctional for minority shareholders rights for the mechanics of the claim to have been designed for the sole use of controlling shareholders. This study adopts the comparison methodology between Qatar and the UK legal system. The comparison of two legal system strives to articulates the resemblance of the Qatari claim to the rule in Foss v Harbottle, where the proper claimants are not the shareholders but the company. As a result, the minority are at the mercy of the controlling shareholders who have the cash flow and voting rights to steer general meeting outcomes. The findings of this study revels that article 115 of Qatar Companies Law need urgent major amendments. The article suggests the repeal of article 15 of Qatari companies law and the transplantation of prima facie threshold in the UK legal system to Qatar’s civil system.

Clayey soils with swelling and shrinkage characteristics have been major causes for many problems in roads, buildings and other civil engineering infrastructure in various areas of Pakistan, particularly where there are several patches of such soils on either side of Indus River. As the consistency characteristics are directly related with the variation of moisture content; therefore, this study was explicitly focused to investigate the effect of lime and wheat straw on the consistency characteristics of clayey soils with relatively high swelling and shrinkage characteristics. The consistency test results indicate that by the increase in lime content there is a decrease in the plasticity index of soil; for instance, 10% lime content resulted to 59% decrease in the plasticity index value. On the other hand; the addition of wheat straw resulted in a significant increase in the plasticity index; for instance, 10% wheat straw content resulted to a 120% increase in the plasticity index. This study has further shown that the shrinkage and swelling of clayey soils which resulting to several problems in the civil engineering infrastructures may adequately be managed through mixing an appropriate amount of lime and wheat straw as soil stabilizing agent for both immediate and long-term effects.

Background: Adolescent mothers may find the transition to motherhood to be Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the viewpoints of nurse managers and directors of nursing services in community hospitals regarding the essential competencies of head nurses. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design was used to investigate the perspective of nurse managers and directors of nursing services about essential competencies of nurse managers in community hospitals. A total of ten participants (four directors of nursing services and six nurse managers) were interviewed. Findings: Nurse managers and directors of nursing services identified leadership, management, communication, professional ethics, and policy and healthcare environment as the essential competencies for their positions in community hospitals. Conclusions: These findings can be used by executives of community hospitals and nursing institutes to plan for competency development for nurse managers. They should be included in nursing administration programs.
