Zhizhu Decoction Promotes Gastric Emptying and Protects the Gastric Mucosa

        Wei He,Yi Zhang,Xinrui Wang,Lingling Guo,Lifeng Han,Erwei Liu,Tao Wang 한국식품영양과학회 2013 Journal of medicinal food Vol.16 No.4

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the Zhizhu decoction on gastric emptying and gastric mucosal protection. The Zhizhu decoction is composed of Aurantii fructus and Atractylodes macrocephala Rhizoma. Results showed that oral administration of the Zhizhu decoction accelerated gastric emptying in mouse and protected gastric mucosa from ethanol-induced ulcers in rat. Our investigations demonstrated that the Zhizhu decoction accelerated gastric emptying, at least in part, by activating the muscarinic and 5-HT3 receptors. The gastroprotective effect is involved in its antioxidant effects and increased vascular endothelial growth factor expression.

Effect of Sc Content on the Microstructure and Properties of Al–Mg–Sc Alloys Deposited by Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing

        Lingling Ren,Huimin Gu,Wei Wang,Shuai Wang,Chengde Li,Zhenbiao Wang,Yuchun Zhai,Peihua Ma 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.1

Despite showing considerable potential, wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) has been limited to producing Al–Mgalloys. As the addition of Sc can improve the mechanical properties of Al–Mg alloys, in this study, Al–Mg–Sc alloy depositswith different Sc contents were prepared by a WAAM process. The porosity, microstructure, and mechanical properties ofthe deposits were studied. At Sc contents less than 0.15%, Sc was completely dissolved in the Al matrix without grain refinement, and the mechanical properties were slightly improved. At a Sc content of 0.3%, the primary Al3Scphase precipitatedout of the as-deposited body, resulting in an abrupt change in the microstructure, significant grain refinement, significantlyincreased tensile strength and yield strength, with a tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation of 372 MPa, 270 MPa,and 22.5%, respectively. Following heat treatment at 350 °C for 1 h, the grain boundaries were refined and the secondaryAl3Scphase was precipitated. Furthermore, the tensile strength and yield strength were significantly increased to 415 MPaand 279 MPa, respectively, and elongation decreased to 18.5%. At a Sc content of 0.45%, due to the aggregated precipitatedphase, the coarsened grain boundaries and the limited solid solution amount of Sc in the α(Al) matrix (~ 0.25%), themechanical properties were not further improved compared with the deposit with Sc content of 0.3%. Thus, based on economicconsiderations, the optimal Sc content was 0.3%. Owing to their enhanced mechanical properties, WAAM-producedAl–Mg–Sc alloys are expected to have a wide range of applications in aviation, aerospace.

Application of model reduction technique and structural subsection technique on optimal sensor placement of truss structures

        Lu, Lingling,Wang, Xi,Liao, Lijuan,Wei, Yanpeng,Huang, Chenguang,Liu, Yanchi Techno-Press 2015 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.15 No.2

An optimal sensor placement (OSP) method based on structural subsection technique (SST) and model reduction technique was proposed for modal identification of truss structures, which was conducted using genetic algorithm (GA). The constraints of GA variables were determined by SST in advance. Subsequently, according to model reduction technique, the optimal group of master degrees of freedom and the optimal objective function value were obtained using GA in a case of the given number of sensors. Correspondingly, the optimal number of sensors was determined according to optimal objective function values in cases of the different number of sensors. The proposed method was applied on a scaled jacket offshore platform to get its optimal number of sensors and the corresponding optimal sensor layout. Then modal kinetic energy and modal assurance criterion were adopted to evaluate vibration energy and mode independence property. The experiment was also conducted to verify the effectiveness of the selected optimal sensor layout. The results showed that experimental modes agreed reasonably well with numerical results. Moreover the influence of the proposed method using different optimal algorithms and model reduction technique on optimal results was also compared. The results showed that the influence was very little.

Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis: A Case Report

        Minhua Chen,Wei Ruan,Lingling Zhang,Bangchuan Hu,Xianghong Yang 대한기생충학ㆍ열대의학회 2019 The Korean Journal of Parasitology Vol.57 No.3

Primary amebic encephalitis (PAM) is a devastating central nervous system infection caused by Naegleria fowl- eri, a free-living amoeba, which can survive in soil and warm fresh water. Here, a 43-year-old healthy male was exposed to warm freshwater 5 days before the symptom onset. He rapidly developed severe cerebral edema before the diagnosis of PAM and was treated with intravenous conventional amphotericin B while died of terminal cerebral hernia finally. Com- paring the patients with PAM who has similar clinical symptoms to those with other common types of meningoencephali- tis, this infection is probably curable if treated early and aggressively. PAM should be considered in the differential diagno- sis of purulent meningoencephalitis, especially in patients with recent freshwater-related activities during the hot season.

        RPK118, a PX Domain-containing Protein, Interacts with Peroxiredoxin-3 through Pseudo-Kinase Domains

        Long Yu,Lingling Liu,Chenyi Yang,Jian Yuan,Xiujuan Chen,Jianing Xu,Youheng Wei,Jingchun Yang,Gang Lin 한국분자세포생물학회 2005 Molecules and cells Vol.19 No.1

RPK118 is a sphingosine kinase-1-binding protein that has been implicated in sphingosine 1 phosphate-mediated signaling. It contains a PX (phox homology) domain and two pseudo-kinase domains, and co-localizes with sphingosine kinase-1 on early endosomes. In this study we identified a novel RPK118-binding protein, PRDX3 (peroxiredoxin-3), by yeast two-hybrid screening. The interaction between these proteins was confirmed by pull-down assays and co-immunoprecipitation experi-ments. Deletion studies showed that RPK118 inter-acted with PRDX3 through its pseudokinase domains, and with early endosomes through its PX domain. Dou-ble immunofluorescence experiments demonstrated that PRDX3 co-localized with RPK118 on early endosomes in COS7 cells. PRDX3 is a member of the antioxidant family of proteins synthesized in the cytoplasm and functioning in mitochondria. Our findings indicate that RPK118 is a PRDX3-binding protein that may be involved in transporting PRDX3 from the cytoplasm to its mitochondrial site of function or to other mem-brane structures via endosome trafficking

An Electrothermochromic Fabric Prepared by Electrodeposition of Polypyrrole on Single Side

        Zeqi Chen,Chengzhuo Wei,Weida Rao,Lingling Fan,Jie Xu 한국섬유공학회 2018 Fibers and polymers Vol.19 No.11

An electrothermochromic fabric triggered by electric voltages was prepared by combining the electric heating feature of conductive polypyrrole (PPy) and the temperature-response color-changing feature of thermochromic inks. PPy was deposited selectively on the carbon-coated side of the sailcloth fabric via electrochemical polymerization. Thermochromic inks were painted on the reverse side with white color. The obtained fabric could be heated to about 48 oC and change its color significantly under an applied voltage of 3 V.

Ion Exchange Synthesis of Bi2MoO6/BiOI Heterojunctions for Photocatalytic Degradation and Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

        Linlin Fan,Bo Wei,Lingling Xu,Yang Liu,Wanlu Cao,Ning Ma,Hong Gao 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2016 NANO Vol.11 No.8

In this study, flower-like Bi2MoO6/BiOI heterostructure photocatalysts were synthesized via an anion exchange method using BiOI as precursor. The composition of Bi2MoO6/BiOI can be easily controlled by adjusting the MoO2- 4 /I- molar ratio. Photocatalytic activity studies based on the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) show that Bi2MoO6/BiOI = 50% photocatalyst exhibited the best performance under visible light excitation. The radical scavengers test demonstrated that holes was the main reactive species for the degradation of RhB, and O2- also took part in the photodecomposition process. Photoelectrochemical measurement reveals that the Bi2MoO6/ BiOI = 50% exhibit enhanced carrier densities, charge separation and photocurrent compared with the original Bi2MoO6 and BiOI. Our results show that bismuth-based heterojunctions fabricated through the anion exchange method could be a cost-effective approach to improve the photocatalytic activity and photoelectrochemical performance of BiOI.

Dermoscopy for the Diagnosis of Creeping Hair Caused by Ingrowing Hair: A Case Report

        Lijuan Xu,Xinhai Liu,Wei Zhu,Lingling Zheng 대한피부과학회 2023 Annals of Dermatology Vol.35 No.-

Creeping hair is a rare condition characterized by creeping eruption with a black line at the advancing end, mimicking cutaneous larva migrans. The condition is also referred to as cuta- neous pili migrans, migrating hair, and embedded hair. A total of 52 cases have been reported since 1957 and most cases were published in English. Herein, we report a case in which creep- ing hair occurred in the iliac region and review the literature from 1957 to February 2021. A 35-year-old Chinese female presented with a black moving linear eruption that had migrated from the lower abdomen to the iliac region without causing any symptoms during a 3-year period. Cutaneous examination showed a 6.5-cm-long black linear lesion beneath the skin that was revealed to be a hair shaft. After removal of the hair, the eruption diminished and no re- currence occurred in 3 months of follow-up. The creeping hair that had migrated with its lower end forward was confirmed by observation under dematoscopy and light microscopy. A review of the literature revealed that creeping hair occurs most frequently in young and middle-aged patients and the reported cases are mainly from Asia. The top locations involve the foot. The causative hair includes head hair, beard, pubic hair, body hair, and one case of dog hair. A close- up examination and dermoscopic inspection are helpful for the diagnosis of creeping hair.
