Objective: This study was designed to estimate the frequency and risk factor for edenomyosis Methods: The clinical records of 623 women undergoing hysterectomy were retrieved in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Soonchunhyang University Hospital, during 5 years, from Jan. 1995 to Dec. 1999. Results: The following result were obtained. 1. Adenomyosis was found in 247 of 623 patients(39.6%) 2. The highest incidence was 40-49 years of age group, an incidence of 46.6% and mean age was 44.7 years. 3. Adenomyosis was more frequently observed in parous women than non-parous women, such as 93.1% and 6.9%, respectively. 4. Dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia, pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding were common symptom of adenomyosis, an incidence of 28.7%, 19.0%, 18.2% and 16.2%, respectively. 5. Myoma was the most combined disease in adenomyosis, showing the incidence of 54.7%. 6. Grossly, the size of uterus was enlarged more than 10 weeks gestational size in adenomyosis, an incidence of 61.9%. 7. Preoperative diagnostic accuracy of adenomyosis was 6.9%. Conclusion: The results show that deeply understanding of the common symptoms and epidemiology of adenomyosis improve the preoperative diagnostic accuracy.

Individual identification of severely decomposed or skeletonized bodies is an important part in medicolegal field. 142 bodies were torn up and carried away by flood in a park cemetry, Kwang-Ju, Kyunggi province, Korea at Sept., 10, 1990. The authors examed the 56 bodies, which were gained, through medical, anthropological, odontological, radiological methods, and superimposition for individual identification. Among them, 41 cases were successfully identified, and remaining 15 cases were not identified because of sever destruction and no adequate information.

Individual identification is an important part in medicolegal field especially in mass disaster. At July, 27, 1989, KAL KE-803 was crashed on landing at Tripoli International Airport, Liba. The plane was caught in fire and sixty eight Koreans were sacrified. The majority of victims were severely charred and injured. The authors examed all dead bodies and successfully identified all the cases through visual, anthropological, odontological, radiological and pathological methods including fingerprint and blood typing.

Rail noise and vibration is one of the major problem for the residents living nearby railway tracks. The rail noise may inflict a considerable damage to physiological, spiritual, mental and discomfort to neighboring peoples. Therefore, residents living nearby railway were appeal many troubles. Nevertheless, in our country, adequate guidelines for the rail noise are not yet established because of the lack of basic data and insufficient research works. In this point, this study attempts to surveys the influence of rail noise in urban area using questionnaire. This study also present a basic data in establishing effective plans for rail noise in the future.

Osteoma cutis is a rare, benign, frequently congenital tumor of the skin composed of bone tissue, showing neither invasive nor metastasizing tendency. The term osteoma cutis is applied to cases of primary cutaneous ossification in which there is no evidence of Albrights hereditary osteodystrophy. Congenital platelike osteoma cutis is a clinically different variant of primary cutaneous osteoma. We report the case of a 10-month-old male infant who presented with two walnut-sized firm, poorly demarcated plaques containing pinhead-sized erythematous papules on the abdomen and the right leg and multiple variably sized erythematous subcutaneous nodules on the left leg sinee birth. The initial lesions did not enlarge nor did new lesions develop. A biopsy specimen of the abdominal lesion showed bony plate and cartilaginous structures in the subcutaneous fat tissue. There was no history of any skin disease prior to the development of osteoma.

6-(3.4-Dichlorophenyl)amino-7-chloro-5.8-quinolinedione (RCK50) was tested for antifungal activities in mice systemically infected with Candida albicans. The therapeutic potential of RCK50 was also assessed in comparison with ketoconazole. RCK50 had ED_50 0.22±0.01 ㎎/㎏. Ketoconazole as a positive control had ED_50 6.00±1.70 ㎎/㎏. Intraperitoneally administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 7 days and 14 days reduced Candida albicans colony count in the kidneys and liver. And administered RCK50 at the ED_50 for 14 days improved survival rates. The genotoxicities of RCK50 had been evaluated. RCK50 was negative in Ames test with Salmonella typhimurium and chromosomal aberration test in CHL cells. RCK50 did not show any clastogenic effect in mouse peripheral blood and was negative in mouse micronucleus assay. These results indicate that RCK50 has no genotoxic potential under these experimental conditions. Acute oral toxicity studies of RCK50 were carried out in ICR mice of both sexes. RCK50 did not show acute oral toxicities and LD_50 values were over 2.850 ㎎/㎏ in ICR mice.

관광 안내를 위한 지능형 지리정보 시스템의 연구

This paper proposes a framework of an intelligent geographic information system(IGIS) for tourist guide which reflects road status, traffic volume, hotel facilities, seasons, travel intervals, costs, persons, and famous places which they should want to travel. Starting with reviewing the characteristics of pervious spatial models, this paper presents basic concepts, design considerations, knowledge bases, and user interfaces for the proposed model and evaluates and execution process of the system. In addition, we describe the concatenation methods of related information systems for the intelligent geographic information system. Finally, the primary difference between the proposed knowledge database and its processing system and an intelligent, object-oriented geographic information system, called GeoViewer, is reviewed through comparing with their characteristics.

비대칭적 문장접속 : 담화문법 하에서 독일어 분석 An analysis of German texts within the framework of disourse grammar

In this paper, I have showed the possibility to analyze asymmetric coordinate sentences of German within a formal discourse grammar. In section 2, I have surveyed that asymmetric coordinate sentences behave themselves in the syntactic and semantic aspects differently from symmetric coordinate sentences, although they have both the coordinate conjunction und. In section 3, I have seen the so-called 'Discourse Structure Grammar' of Lee (2001) on which the analyse of this paper are based. Specially, I have accepted the concept 'discourse relations' of Sanders et al. (1992; 1993) and have postulated the hierarchy of discourse relations according to the three dimensions such as operation, polarity and source. In section 4, I have analyzed German data on the basis of the Discourse Structure Grammar. First, I have handled the asymmetric texts that contain the other discourse operators besides the conjunction und. For this case, I have assumed the 'Discourse-Relation-Principle.' According to this principle, the most specific discourse relation determines the type of the whole text, even if more than two discourse relations expressed by each discourse operator appear within the text. So we could analyze some texts containing two different discourse operators as the asymmetric type by means of that principle and the assumed hierarchy of discourse relations. Second, I have showed the possibility to analyze the tests whose type date back to the meanings of each participating sentence. That is, if we assume that we can extract the discourse relation by the meanings of each sentence, we can calculate the specificity among the discourse relations. Therefore we get the texts which can be regarded at first as symmetric ones because of the conjunction und, but which are understood as the asymmetric type.

코퍼스를 이용한 독일어 연구 : 정량적 분석의 응용사례

Bei der vorliegenden Arbeit habe ich versucht, anhand einiger Musterbeispiele korpusbasierte Untersuchungsmethoden zu zeigen. Im Kapitel 2 habe ich im Vergleich zu den allgemeinen linguistischen Untersuchungsmethoden (insbesondere, der generativen Theorie von N. Chomsky) die Charakteristik der korpusbasierten Untersuchungen erkla¨rt. Im Kapitel 3 habe ich die Werkzeuge der Korpuslinguistik, d.h. Korpora und Softwares, u¨berblickt. Danach habe ich im Kapitel 4 einige Untersuchungsbeispiele gezeigt, die den quantitativen Analysen auf Grund der Rohtexte entsprechen. Zuerst habe ich im Bezug auf Frequenzlisten drei Beispiele gezeigt. Das erste Beispiel zeigt bezu¨glich der Wortart den Charakter des mu¨ndlichen Deutschen. Das zweite bezieht sich auf den Bereich Sprachwandel: Wir haben bei der IDS-Korpora gesehen, dass die Wo¨rter Handy und Tamagotchi nach dem Zeitraum unterschiedlich auftreten. Und das dritte bezieht sich auf den Bereich Stilistik: Hierbei habe ich bei vier Genres und bei drei literalischen Werken die Statistik daru¨ber gezeigt, wie viele Wo¨rter innerhalb eines Satzes vorkommen. Als na¨chstes habe ich Kollokationsarbeiten gezeigt, bei denen gefragt wird, mit welchem Wort ein bestimmtes Wort ha¨ufig zusammen vorkommt. Bei- spielweise habe ich die Kollokatoren des Wortes Risiko gezeigt, indem ich das Programm COSMAS II von IDS-Korpora benutzte. Dabei habe ich im Bereich der Lexikographie eine Anwendungsmo¨glichkeit erkla¨rt.
