水稻 直播栽培에 關한 硏究 : (Ⅰ)栽培方法이 節間長에 미치는 影響

Data on internode length obtained from cultural experiments on seeding date, seeding method and seeding rate in direct seeding cultivation of rice in 1989 were analyzed to investigate the rela-tionship between internode length and lodging. In general, internode length appeared to be longer in earlier plantings except May 11 planting which had longer internode than those of other plantings. Seeding in flooded condition as well as higher seeding rate resulted in longer internode length. Culm diameter leas greater in the order of April 21 > May 11 > May 21 > May 1 plantings, and drilled in upland condition > broadcasting in upland condition > seeding in flooded condition, while the higher the seeding rate, the greater the culm diameter was. Except seeding in upland condition and seething rate of 3kg/10a which showed lodging degree of 1, all other treatments resulted in severe lodging with degree of 7.

<P>We have developed two-photon (TP) pH-sensitive probes (BH-2 and BHEt-1) that exhibit absorption and emission maxima at 370 and 466 nm, and TP absorption cross-section values of 51 and 61 GM (1 GM = 10(-50)cm(4)s/photon), respectively, at 750 nm and pH 3.0 in a universal buffer (0.1 M citric acid, 0.1 M KH2PO4, 0.1 M Na2B4O7, 0.1 M Tris, 0.1 M KCl)/1,4-dioxane (7/3) solution. The TPM images of CCD-18co (a normal colon cell line) and HCT116 cells (a colon cancer cell line) labeled with BH-2 were too dim to be distinguished. When the same cells were labeled with BHEt-1, however, the TPM image of the HCT116 cells was Much brighter than that of CCD-18co cells, and the relative proportion of the acidic vesicles (P-acid) of the former was 5-fold larger than that of latter. BHEt-1 could also differentiate HepG2 cells (a human liver cancer cell line) from LX-2 cells (a human hepatic stellate cell line) with a 6-fold larger P-acid value. Human colon cancer tissues labeled with BHEt-1 showed similar results, demonstrating much brighter TPM images and 6-fold larger P-acid values compared to normal tissue. These results suggest the potential utility of BHEt-1 for detecting colon cancer in human tissues using TPM.</P>

Two stored grain pests of the genus Tribolium Macleay, 1825 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) are newlyrecognized in Korea: T. freemani Hinton, 1948, and T. madens (Charpentier, 1825). Their morphologicaldiagnosis, adult and larval pictorial identification keys, and the mitochondrial COI barcode sequences ofgenus Tribolium are provided.

This experimental research has been done to study the effects of Palmul-tang on the anti-allergic reaction. We found the several important results from the research which has been performed by two experiments toward immediately type and delayed type in order to study the effects of Palmul-tang on hypersensitivity response to mice. The results obtained from our research are as following: The survival rate of one group to which we injected only the compound 48/80 is almost 0% according to its density and timing test. In the other hand, the survival rates of the other group to which we injected both of the compound 48/80 and Palmul-tang are 20%, 0%, 40%, 10%, 20% and 50% according to 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.25 0.5 and 1 (mg/g) of compound 48/80. Time dependency test also shows the 30% and 20% survival rates in 5 and 1 O minutes. Palmul-tang revealed the significantly inhibitory effect on Compound 48/80 induced Mast cell degranulation. Palmul-tang showed the significantly inhibitory effect in the delayed type hypersensitivity response to picry1 chbride. Palmul-tang showed the significantly inhibitory effect in the delayed type hypersensitivity response to sheep red blood cell. Our research provides the important evidence that Palmul-tang is benificial to the prevention and treatment of allergy related oiseases.
자가 면역성 갑상선 질환에서 T - 임파구 아형의 분포에 관한 연구

N/A The study was intended to clarify any quantitative abnormalities of peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets in autoimmune thyroid diseases using monoclonal antibodies by immunofluorescence technique. 1) Mean percentages of helper and suppressor T- lymphocytes in normal controls were 43.2±9.5%, 29.7± 7.7% respectively. Mean ratio of percentage of helper T-lymphocytes to that of suppressor T-lymphocytes was 1.52±0.44. 2) Mean percentagen of helper and suppressor T-lympohcytes in hyperthyroid Graves disease without medication(29.0±8.3, 21.7±6.7) was significantly de- creased as compared with normal controls. 3) Mean percentages, of helper and suppressor T-lymphocytes in euthyroid Graves' disease on treatment (41.4±9.5, 25.6±7.6) were not significantly different from those of normal contols. 4) Mean percentages of helper and suppressor T-lymphocytes in Hashimoto's thyroiditis (35.2±11.6, 23.5±5.1) were significantly decreased as compared with normal controls. 5) Mean ratios of percentage of helper T-lymphocytes to that of suppressor T-lymphocytes in three groups (l. 47±0.68, 1.78±0.77, l.62±0.73) were not significantly different from that of normal controls. The results of the present study show that abnormalities in T-lymphocyte subsets exist in patients with autoimmune thyroid disease and it could be used as an idex of response to therapy. Further studies on the implication of the decrement of helper T-lymphocytes in these patients will be pursued.

Influenza, which is a highly contagious disease caused by the influenza A virus, continues to be a major health concern worldwide. Although the accurate and early diagnosis of influenza virus infection is important for controlling the spread of this disease and rapidly initiating antiviral therapy, the current influenza diagnostic kits are limited by their low sensitivity. In this study, we developed several new influenza nucleoprotein (NP)-specific monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and compared their sensitivity and specificity of those with commercially available anti-NP mAbs. Three mAbs, designated M24.11, M34.3, and M34.33, exhibited higher reactivities to recombinant NPs and A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (H1N1) viral lysates compared with the commercial mAbs, as assessed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. M34.3 and M34.33 showed higher reactivities with A/California/04/09 (pandemic H1N1) and A/ Philippines/2/82 (H3N2) viral lysates than the commercial mAbs. In contrast, M24.11 had marked reactivity with H3N2 but not with pandemic H1N1. Immunofluorescent confocal microscopy showed that the three mAbs effectively detected the presence of influenza virus in lung tissues of mice infected with A/Puerto Rico/8/1934. These results indicate that the newly developed M34.3 and M34.33 mAbs could be useful for the development of influenza diagnostics.
