        영골(靈骨).강압혈(降壓穴) 자극(刺鍼)이 혈압(血壓)에 미치는 영향(影向)

        Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical effect of the non-pharmacological anti-hypertension method, acupuncture, for hypertensive patients. Methods : 26 patients diagnosed with hypertension were each treated by one of three methods: an anti-hypertension drug(adalat soft capsule), venepuncture, and acupuncture. In cases of rising blood pressure, patients were treated by their one of the three methods, and blood pressure was measured at regular intervals. Result : As for the group of acupuncture treated patients on Young-gol(ling-gu) and Gang-ap-hyul(jiang-ya-xue), readings dropped 18.0mmHg in systolic blood pressure and 6.50mmHg in diastolic blood pressure. This was a greater effect than that seen in the venepuncture treated patients. Blood pressure checked one hour after acupuncture treatment showed a greater difference than blood pressure checked after thirty minutes. Conclusion : Safe reductions in blood pressure were observed through the non-pharmacological method of acupuncture on Young-gol(ling-gu) and Gang-ap-hyul(Jiang-ya-xue).

      • 심한 골병변으로 발현된 기능성 낭종성 부갑상선 선종

        낭종성 부갑상선 선종과 심한 골병변을 동반한 부갑상선 기능항진증은 매우 드문 질환으로서, 저자들은 양측 고관절의 통증을 초기 주소로 내원한 환자에서 고칼슘혈증과 부갑상선 호르몬 증가, 골병변의 방사선적 소견을 통해 부갑상선 기능항진증을 진단하고, 경부 초음파와 컴퓨터 단층 촬영, 부갑상선 스캔검사 및 수술중 부갑상선 낭종액 검사 등을 통해 기능성 부갑상선 낭종의 한 종류인 낭종성 부갑상선 선종을 진단하고 수술적 제거를 통하여 정상화된 1예를 경험하였다. A cystic parathyroid adenoma is rare. A case of primary hyperparathyroidism, with the cystic formation of a parathyroid adenoma and a severe bony lesion, is reported. A 52-year-old male was admitted due to pain in both hips and for evaluation of hypercalcemia. The plasma level of the intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) was elevated to 1424 pg/mL. Ultrasonography and the computed tomography revealed a parathyroid cyst on the left thyroid lower pole. Parathyroid scintigraphy detected a parathyroid adenoma. A radiograph showed a subperiosteal bone resorption on the phalanges, and a brown tumor (osteitis fibrosa cystica) on the femur shaft was noted. A surgical excision of the parathyroid adenoma was performed. The PTH level in the cystic fluid was increased. A histological examination confirmed a cystic parathyroid adenoma. The PTH level was normalized after the operation (J Kor SOC Endocrinol 18:214-220, 2003).

        Aerobic Exercise Affects Myostatin Expression in Aged Rat Skeletal Muscles: A Possibility of Antiaging Effects of Aerobic Exercise Related With Pelvic Floor Muscle and Urethral Rhabdosphincter

        <P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>Aging-induced loss of muscle mass and subsequent reduction of strength is a fundamental cause of frailty, functional decline, and disability. And this may lead to muscular dysfunction, voiding dysfunction, or urinary incontinence due to pelvic muscle weakness induced by aging. Physical exercise has been recommended for the prevention and the treatment of these age-related frail states. We investigated the effects of treadmill exercise on muscle strength, myostatin mRNA and protein expression, and gastrocnemius myocytes proliferation in aged rats to investigate the possible antiaging effects of aerobic exercise on skeletal muscles such as pelvic floor muscles and urethral rhabdosphincter muscle.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>In this study, 5-month-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were used as the young-age group (n=20) and 24-month-old rats were used as the old-age group (n=20). Each group was randomly divided into two groups (n=10 in each group): the sedentary and the treadmill exercise group. The rats in the exercise groups were forced to run on a motorized treadmill for 30 minutes, once a day, for 6 weeks. For this study, a weight load test, hematoxylin and eosin staining, real-time and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction for myostatin mRNA, myostatin western blot, and 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine immunohistochemistry were performed in the gastrocnemius muscle.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>The age-induced reduction of muscle mass and strength was associated with a decrease in myocyte proliferation and an increase in myostatin mRNA and protein expression in the gastrocnemius. However, treadmill exercise improved muscle mass and strength through suppression of myostatin mRNA and protein expression, and myocyte proliferation increase in the gastrocnemius against the aging process.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Aerobic exercise is a useful strategy for enhancing muscle function against aging-induced loss of skeletal muscle mass and functions.</P>

      • 스페르민-DNA 복합체의 이례적 흡광도-온도 양상에 미치는 DMSO의 영향

        DNA의 응축을 유발시키는 spermine 농도 존재시 downward peak(trough)를 갖는 이례적 흡광도-온도 양상에 hydrophobic environment를 조성하는 DMSO의 영향을 조사하였다. DMSO 농도증가에 따라 downward peak의 깊이가 점차 얕아졌으며 그 phase transition enthalpy와 relative cooperative length(n)가 melting region보다는 downward peak(trough) phase transition에 더 예민하게 영향을 받았다. 따라서 본 data는 spermine에 의하여 유발되는 응축된 DNA 구조에 이르는 hydrophobic interaction에 의한 tertiary structure 형성이 온도상승에 따라 유리해짐으로써 downward peak가 형성된다는 추리를 확인하는 실험결과가 될 것이다. In an effort to improve our knowledge on the mechanism of the collapse of DNA into a compact structure by polyamines, we investigated the effect of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a hydrophobic environmental reagent on the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile of condensed DNA, induced by spermine and having a trough preceeded by the initiation of the melting phase. The trough peak size can be decreased by increased concentration of DMSO, and the cooperativity of the phase transition to the region in the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is more sensitive to DMSO than that of the melting regions of the profile. The present data indicate that the anomalous absorbance-temperatuve profile is due to the thermal stabilization of the tertiary structure of the spermine-induced collapsed state of DNA and the importance of hydrophobic interaction in the stabilization of the condensed state of DNA induced by spermine.

        산업폐수 슬럿지를 이용한 경량골재 개발에 관한 연구

        Among the disposal techniques of inorganic wastewater sludges from industries, most of sludges were dealed with buring underground inefficiently. But we have tried to recycle the resources that exhausted inorganic sludges were properly blended to certain ratioes to make lightweight aggregate, that means manufacturing of it can be possible through blending of various components, drying, sintering, cooling and crushing to certain sizes that are needed by consumers. As disposal method of inorganic wastewater sludge is changed to environmentally fraternative method, this method could be very useful to make lightweight aggregates for decoration of building and the other so many purposes of those usages. That could be economically useful due to expected income for buring costs of ordinary disposal method from industries and sales income after manufacturing it. The second important profit is saving foreign currency from purchasing self-developed lightweight aggregate instead of importing expensive foreign product. This product will be also very impressive to user because of the fraternative lightweight to be composed of apatite structure that is important part of human body.

        We have investigated the effect of hydrophobic environmental reagents (urea and DMSO) on the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile of condensed DNA, induced by spermine. The cooperativity of the phase transition to the trough region in the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is more sensitive to the hydrophobic environmental reagents than that of the melting region, and the trough peak size can be decreased by increased concentration of the hydrophobic reagents. The present data indicate the importance of hydrophobic interaction in the stabilization of the condensed state of DNA induced by spermine, and that the anomalous absorbance-temperature profile is due to the thermal stabilization of the tertiary structure of the spermine-induced collapsed state of the DNA.

      • 영한/한영사전을 이용한 동의어/유의어 사전 자동 구축

        본 논문에서는 한-영사전과 영-한사전의 상호 정보를 이용한 동의어/유의어사전 자동구축에 대해서 기술한다. 유의어/동의어사전은 정보검색분야 뿐만 아니라 의미정보를 요구하는 자연언어처리의 다양한 분야에서 필요로 한다. 기 구축된 한-영사전과 영-한사전 정보들을 이용하여 동의어/유의어 후보목록들을 획득하고, 획득된 후보목록들에 대해서 후보목록에 출현하는 빈도수, 사전의 위치정보, 입력명사정보들을 이용하여 최종적으로 동의어/유의어 목록들을 추출하게 된다. 동의어/유의어 사전 엔트리들은 한-영사전에 수록된 한국어 명사 64,630개를 대상으로 하여 구하였다. 제안한 동의어/유의어사전을 문서 필터링시스템에 적용하여 실험한 결과 종래방식보다 F-score가 약 0.01정도 상승되었다. This paper describes an automatic synonym-dictionary construction method using the mutual information from the Korean-English and English-Korean dictionaries. The synonym-dictionary is an important resource in the information retrieval and the various fields of the natural language processing requiring the semantic knowledge. Synonym candidate list is extracted by the information of pre-existing Korean-English and English-Korean dictionaries. Finally, synonym words are selected from the candidate-list, using its frequency in the candidates-list, the location information in the dictionary, and the given words. the synonym dictionary was constructed from the 64,630 Korean nouns which listed in the Korean-English dictionary. Document-Filtering System with this dictionary shows higher F-score than without it.

      • 韓國 耕地雜草의 生態에 관한 硏究

        . In this study, I divided the Korean cultivated land into three parts; middle region, southern region and Cheju-do, and investigated the ecology of weeds in the three parts. the total of data for investigation are 46 families and 203 species, which include 86 perennial weeds and 117 annual weeds. The results of this study are as follows; 1. Summer annual weed species in the three surrounding regions are alike in numbers and ecological features, while the winter annual weed species and perennial weed species in southern regions are more than ones in middle regions. Most of all the winter annual and perennial weed species in cheju-do are more than ones in southern regions. 2. In the case of winter annual weed species of dominant plants, Alopecurus aequalis, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Stellaria alsine var. undulata, etc. grow dominantly in middle regions, while stellaria media, Cerastium holosteoides var. hallaisanense, Galium spurium, etc. grow dominantly in southern region and Cheju-do. 3. In the stem growth characteristics of weeds, most summer annual weeds are an erect type but most winter annual weeds are a branch type or a rosette type. 4. In the case of summer annual weed species, Digitaria adscendens absolutely grow dominantly in middle and southern regions. Especially, Portulaca oleracea, Acalypha australis are weed species which grow dominantly in Cheju-do. 5. Stellaria media, Erigeron annus, Scilla scillodides, Sagina japonica, Oxalis corniculata, etc. grow all the year round in Cheju-do.
