      • Acute exacerbation of interstitial lung disease; subgroup analysis for causes, risk factors for mortality rate, and steroid responsiveness

        Background: Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) has known as a poor prognosis disease, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Corticosteroid is widely used for treatment of acute exacerbation (AE)-ILD. This study aims to clarify efficacy of corticosteroid use, and compare the mortality rate depending on the subgroups of ILD. Materials and Methods: We collected the data from the patients who have diagnosed ILD and visited emergency room (ER) with the respiratory symptoms from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018. We classified AE-ILD patients into 3 groups depending on methylprednisolone dose per kilogram. Also, we compared the mortality of IPF patients to that of non-IPF patients. Results: A total case of AE-ILD visited ER from 2016 to 2018 was 209 cases, including IPF cases (n=122) and non-IPF cases (n=87). We divided total patients (n=209) into three groups depending on steroid use, and these include group 1 of 0-0.49 mg/kg (n=78), group 2 of 0.5-0.99 mg/kg (n=58), and above 1.0 mg/kg (n=41), each. We found poor prognosis from the cases of IPF compared to non-IPF cases (p=0.029, OR 2.463). Furthermore, there was significant differences of mortality rate according to steroid dose (p=0.036, OR 1.712), CRP elevation (p=0.016, OR 1.004), and intubated case (p=0.000, OR 8.152). Also, we categorized IPF (n=122) to non-IPF cases (n=87) and analyzed the mortality rate. Most of the patients were death from ILD itself (n=23, 63.9%), Pneumonia(n=8, 22.2%), and Lung cancer (n=5, 13.9%). Bacterial infection (n=26) was dominant cause of AE, followed by fungal infection (n=15), and viral infection (n=10). Conclusions: This retrospective analysis of corticosteroid treatment shows more fatal outcome when we use high dose steroid in AE-ILD cases, and there was significant difference in mortality rate depending on the subgroup of ILD and medical background, such as intubation status, higher CRP level, and IPF cases.

        Background and Objectives: The aim of the study was to identify the factors associated with life satisfaction of hospitalized Vietnam veterans. Material and Methods: The data were collected from 200 hospitalized Vietnam veterans of 5 veterans hospitals in Korea from September 13 to 23, 2004. Information of general characteristics, health behavior, disease history, family function, depression and life satisfaction were collected by structured questionnaire. Results: The mean of life satisfaction was 21.48(±6.03), and the mean of depression was 53.10(±9.64). The prevalence of depression was mild depression 24.0%, moderate depression 43.5% and severe depression 25.0%. Depression was associated with life satisfaction and depression was higher, life satisfaction was lower. Family function and age were positively associated with life satisfaction, Conclusion: Life satisfaction was affected by depression and family function in hospitalized Vietnam veterans. Therefore, it was thought that psychosocial approaches such as improve depression and family function in care of hospitalized Vietnam veterans is required.

        교과과정의 조직은 체계적이고 뜻이 있는 순서로 학생들을 가르치기 위해 지식을 어떻게 조직화할 것인지와, 과목들 사이에서 공통된 내용은 통합시켜 중첩되는 일이 없도록 조정할 필요가 있다. 이에 현재 본 대학 간호과에서 운영되었던 97학년도의 17개 전공과목들의 교과과정의 내용을 비교, 분석하여 중복을 줄이며 순차적 지식의 습득을 도모하는 새로운 통합교과과정의 틀을 개발, 제시함으로써 보다 나은 전문직 간호교육이 이루어지도록 하고자 하였다. Most curricula are considered how to teach the student in systematic and meaningful orders. And it is necessary to coordinate the duplicate contents in major subjects in nursing. So this study was designed to set up a new comprehensive curriculum through comparing and ananlyzing each seventeen major subjects in Nursing Department of Kyung-Bok College. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the new comprehensive curricula for promoting the efficiency and effectiveness in diploma degree course of nursing education.

        대장내시경 전처치제로서 Sodium Phosphate 와 Polyethylene Glycol 용액의 전향적 비교 분석

        Background/Aims: Although some authors have suggested that sodium phosphate (NaP) is more effective than polyethylene glycol (PEG) in bowel cleansing, there has been no crossover study proving the superiority of NaP over PEG in bowel cleansing and patients' compliance. The aim of this study was to compare the two solutions for colonoscopy, PEG and NaP, through crossover design with regard to patients' compliance, cleansing ability and side effects. Methods: Thirty patients underwent two separate colonoscopies for colonic polyp(s) with PEG and NaP, respectively. Before and after bowel preparation, blood pressure, body weight, and serum biochemical parameters were measured in all patients. In addition, a detailed questionnaire was used to assess side effects and the patients' preference. The presence of bubbles, types of residual stool, and overall quality of colon cleansing were assessed by one endoscopist blinded to the type of preparation used. In each colonoscopy, two biopsy specimens were taken at rectum. Results: In the NaP group, but not in the PEG group, there were significant changes in several biochemical parameters including sodium (+3.0±3.0 mEq/L), potassium (-0.3±0.3mEq/L), calcium (-0.5±0.5 mg/dL), phosphorus (+3.9±2.2 mg/dL) and osmolarity ( +10.1±9.3 mOsm/kg) after bowel preparation. In addition, the degree of body weight change was greater with NaP (-2.2±2.3 kg) than with PEG (-1.2±2.0 kg) (p=0.06) and the formation of bubbles that disturb luminal observation was more frequently found in the NaP group (p$lt;0.01). There was no difference, however, in the type of residual stool and the overall quality of bowel preparation between the two groups and no significant mucosal change was noted after bowel preparation in both groups. Moreover, PEG was found to be more difficult to take than NaP (p$lt;0.05) and among the 30 patients, 26 (87%) preferred NaP, while only two favored PEG (p$lt;0.01). Conclusions: We conclude that NaP can replace PEG at least in patients with good general condition. Further studies to decrease the incidence of bubbles and to establish subgroups suitable for NaP are needed.

        This study was conducted to investigate useful mixing amount of soybean and barley flour in making steam bread. The high adding amount of soybean and barley flour resulted from low expansion and high hardness of steam bread. Steam bread expanded well and gained high sensory evaluation score as 10% of soybean flour was added to the kneading of bread compared to the non-added treatment. But there were not significant difference in the quality of steam bread such as expansion, hardness and preference between non-added treatment and added treatment to 30% of soybean flour or 10% of barley flour.

      • 타조육을 이용한 기능성 한식요리

        우리나라 사람들이 고대로부터 많이 섭취하며 선호하는 육류로는 쇠고기가 가장 뛰어나며 그 다음이 돼지고기, 닭고기순이다. 따라서 타조육과 육질이나 영양소면에서 가장 유사한 쇠고기의 한식에서의 이용법과 타조육의 한식 윤류요리로의 응용 가능성에 대하여 정리해 보도록 하겠다. 1. 쇠고기 쇠소기는 소의 연령, 성별, 운동량, 분위, 숙성정도 등에 따라 부드럽기와 맛에 차이가 있으므로 조리방법이나 목적에 따라 적절한 선택을 하여야 한다. 소는 쇠고기를 비롯하여 내장, 뼈, 꼬리, 다리, 선지까지 전부 특색있게 음식으로 이용한다. 구이, 볶음에는 안심이나 등심부위를, 양지, 홍두깨살, 사태, 도가니, 꼬리, 다리 등으 국, 탕, 조림에 쓰이며, 업진육, 사태, 갈비 등으로는 찜과 조림을, 대접살, 우둔살로는 육회, 포, 장조림을 하는데 접합하다. 내장을 이용하는 조리법은 많으므로 내장의 종류와 손질방법을 알아 이용하여야 한다. 염통은 구이, 산적, 간은 볶음, 회, 처념은 전, 회, 양은 국, 찜, 콩팥은 회, 구이, 볶음, 허파는 튀김, 국, 회, 곱창은 구이, 곰국 등의 조리에 다양하게 이용할 수 있다. 내장부위는 살코기보다 냄새가 많이 나므로 손질을 잘 하여야 한다. 기름기를 떼어내고 소금과 밀가루를 넣고 잘 주물러 씻어서 핏물과 미끄러움을 제거하고 파, 마늘, 생각, 술, 양파 등의 향이 강한 채소와 함께 데치거나 삶아 사용한다. 2. 타조육 일반적으로 타조는 체중이 100-110kg범위에서 도살하게 된다. 100kg의 타조를 도살할 경우 조사자에 따라 약간의 차이는 있으나 도체율은 55-60%, 정육율은 30-35%(평균33%)이다. 타조육은 육안으로 볼때 쇠고기와 매우 유사하며 표1에 언급된 바와 같이 영양성분을 비교시 지방함량이 쇠고기나 송아지고기에 비해 매우 낮아 칼로리가 낮은 육류에 속한다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 앞에서 언급된 다양한 종류의 단백한 한식육류요리에 타조육을 응용한다면 현대인의 평균수면을 상당히 단축시키고 있는 동맥경화증이나 고혈압과 같은 성인병을 예방 및 치료하는데 도움이 되어 현대인의 건강관리에 매우 바람직할 것으로 사료된다.

        제7차 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 3, 4학년 과학 교과서의 체제와 내용에 대한 인식 조사

        The purpose of this study was to develop the quality of the textbook and to find out reasonable selection and structure by examining and analyzing the cognition of teacher and students on the structure and contents of elementary science textbook in the 7th curriculum. The findings of this study were as follows: First, as a result of the students' cognition , their interest level of the learning contents was high and the degree of the difficulty of the learning contents was low on the whole. Second, as a result of the teachers' cognition of contents of the textbook, teachers who taught third graders understood that the third graders have relatively much contents to be studied and the lev디 of the contents of the textbook was high. On the other hand, fourth graders' teachers recognized that contents to be studied and the level of the contents were appropriate. And they understood that there were much work to be studied in the units which were difficult and there were difference between contents to be studied and the degree of the difficulty in some units such as life or the earth field. Third, as a result of the teachers' cognition of structure of the textbook, teachers were very affirmative to reduce school hours. They understood that current numbers and scale of the unit were appropriate. Teachers were satisfied with the structure of elementary science textbook in the 7th curriculum on the whole.

      • 뽕잎분말 첨가비율에 따른 쌀다식의 관능평가 및 영양성분 함량변화에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out in order to investigate the study on the change of nutrient contents and sensory evaluation in rice Dasik according to the added level of mulberry leaf powder. The results are summarised as follows; 1. According to sensory evaluation, rice Dasik added mulberry leaf powder 2% showed higher level of appearance, color, flavor than other group. 2. With increasing mulberry leaf powder, crude protein, moisture and crude ash contents were significantly increased. The contents of crude fat was decreased with increasing mulberry leaf powder. 3. Ca, P, K and Mg contents of mulberry leaf powder 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% was higher than mulberry leaf powder free group.

      • 당뇨 환자를 위한 콩가루와 보리가루 혼합 롤빵의 관능특성

        In order to develop the roll bread for diabetes mellitus patients, the bread mixed with barley and soybean flour to wheat flour was prepared and analyzed the relationship between the mixing ratio and quality characteristics of bread. Increasing the ratio of barley and soybean flour addition, the volume and elasticity of roll bread was decreased but the hardness was increased. According to the results of sensory evaluation, maximum ratio of barley and soybean addition without statistical difference was fifty percent respectively, though overall quality of mixed bread was a little lowered compared to wheat bread. Considering the results of bread quality characteristics and organoleptic test, the optimum ratio of barley and soybean addition was twenty and ten percent respectively and those mixed bread was superior to wheat bread in overall quality.

      • 연령이 다른 흰쥐의 단백질과 카페인 섭취수준이 나트륨 및 칼륨 대사에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

        This study was designed to investigate the effect of dietary different protein and caffeine consumption levels on sodium and potassium metabolism in Sprague-Dawley male young rats(six week-old-rat) and adult rats(twelve week-old-rat) for three weeks. One hundred twenty rats were divided into twelve groups according to age, different dietary protein levels(20% normal protein, 8% low protein) and caffeine consumption levels(3.5mg and 7.0mg/100g body weights). Feed intake and body weight gain were increased with increasing dietary protein levels, and feed intake of caffeine free group was significantly higher than that of caffeine group. There were no significant dietary caffeine or protein induced differences in food efficiency. Serum sodium and potassium level were no significant dietary caffeine and protein induced differences. With increasing caffeine consumption level, urine volume, fecal weight, urinary and fecal sodium contents were significantly increased and young rats were more susceptible to injected caffeine than adult rats. Urinary and fecal potassium contents of caffeine group was higher than caffeine free group. Current findings suggest that excessive caffeine consumption and low protein diet can affect sodium and potassium excretion via urine and feces, and have more significant effect on young than adult.
