하악골 과두돌기 골절은 하악골에 있어서 자주 일어나는 골절중의 하나이며, 이 부위는 해부학적 구조로 이상적인 Reposition ( )이 통례적으로 불가능 하다고 할 수 있을 정도로 어렵기 때문에 치료방법이 선택적으로 이용된다. 수술후 충분한 악관절기능을 발휘하는데 문제가 있을수도 있기 때문에 (Arthropathia deformans) 치료 계획을 세우는데 있어서는 우선 관절기능이 정상적으로 회복되어져야 하며, 또한 악관절 강직에 따른 안면골의 발육 부전으로 인한 악골기형을 고려하여야 한다는데 치료의 촛점이 두어져야 한다. 본인은 1981년 부터 1987년까지 인제대학부속부산백병원에서 치료한 바 있는 73명을 대상으로 (88골절선) 임상조사와 문헌적 고찰을 통하여 악관절 과두돌기 골절에 대한 치료방법의 선택기준 및 합병증 방지에 그 일익을 하고자 이 연구를 시행하였다. Fractures of the mandibular condyle are among the most frequently occuring facial bone fractures. Anatomical structures around the joint inhibit the ideal reposition of the fragments, so variable treatment modalities have been tried selectivly. There can be functional disturbances postoperatively, and normalization of joint function must be considered primarily in treatment planning. Secondly, the possible joint ankylosis and facial deformity following developmental disturbance of facial skeleton must be considered. The authors reviewed 73 patients treated in Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Inje College of medicine Pusan Paik Hospital from 1981 to 1987. Also literatures were reviewed, and we obtained some reference points concerning the selection of the treatment modality and prevention of the possible complication.

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) play a key role in physiological functions such as pH homeostasis, calcification, photosynthesis, and ionic regulations. Among CA isozymes, CA I is a specific marker for the cytoplasm or apical cell membranes of colonic epithelial cells, and it is related to enterocyte proliferation in mammals. The major aim of the present study was to investigate the regional, cellular, and subcellular localization of CA I in a fish, rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss. The CA I was identified in the gills, heart, and intestine of the rainbow trout. CA I protein detected in the tissues of the rainbow trout was similar to a CA III with a molecular weight of 29 kDa. Immunohistochemical results demonstrated that CA I was localized in the various cells of gills, heart, muscle, and intestine of the rainbow trout.
Effects of Cryoprotectants and Freezing Rates on Cryopreservation of Catfish, Silurus asotus Sperm

Milt of the catfish was stripped into immobilizing solution containing 175 mM NaCl and 30 mM Tris at pH 7.8 and was successfully cryopreserved after a stepwise freezing procedure. After stepwise thawing, motility of spermatozoa was slightly lower than that of fresh sperm. Batches of 40-80 eggs were fertilized with cryopreserved spermatozoa, after thawing and activation in solution containing 50 mM NaCl, 20 mM Tris and HCl at pH 7.8; this resulted in 62.2% fertilization success, compared to 70.6 % with fresh sperm.

용가지마 정자(Cleisthenes pinetorum herzensteini)를 액체질소를 이용하여 동결 보존하였고, 동결에 따른 정자의 운동성, 생존율 그리고 미세구조의 변화를 조사하였다. 정자의 운동성은 30% 인공해수(ASW)에서 운동성이 억제되었고, 100% 인공해수의 첨가에 의해 운동성이 개시되었다. 동해방지제로는 DMSO와 glycreol를 30% ASW에 최종농도가 5~20% 되도록 첨가하여 사용하였다. 그 결과 10% glycerol을 동해방지제로 하였을 때 정자의 운동성 및 생존율이 가장 높게 나타났으며 동결속도는 분당 20℃씨 - 80℃까지 내렸을 때 가장 보존효과가 높게 나타났다. 동결보존한 정자의 원형질막이 핵에서 분리되는 현상이 관찰되었다. In the present study, attempts were made to cryopreserve sperm of the pointhead flounder (Cleisthenespinetorum herzensteini) in liquid nitrogen to evaluate effects of various cryoprotectants and freezing rates on the motility and survival rate, and to identify the ultrastructural changes of sperm after cryopreservation. Sperm motility was significantly inhibited in 30% artificial seawater (ASW), but was restored entirely after 100% ASW was added again. Two cryoprotectants, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and glycerol, were added to 30% ASW to formulate the extenders at concentrations between 5% and 20% by volume for freezing. The highest post-thawed sperm motility and survival rate were obtained with 10% glycerol. Afterward, the effect of different freezing rates was examined using 10% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and the rate of 20℃/min to -80℃ showed the best result. Ultrastructural changes of the detachment of plasma membranes were observed after cryopreservation.

Ascidians have been employed as model organisms in investigating spermatogenesis. 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD) is a steroidogenic enzyme essential for invertebrate spermatogenesis. A homologue of HSD was found in the EST database of Ciona intestinalis and cloned. Sequence analysis showed significant homology to zebra fish, sea urchin and human 17β- HSD. The gene has an open reading frame (ORF) of 918 nucleotides coding for a polypeptide of 306 amino acids and a calculated mass of 35-kDa. Immunoblotting with an antibody raised against HSD recognized a 35-kDa protein purified from the C. intestinalis testis. The HSD protein was localized in steroidogenic cells in the Ciona testis. These results suggest that C. intestinalis 17β-HSD is equivalent to the enzyme of vertebrate Leydig cells and that 17β-HSD could be a phylogenetic marker for organisms producing steroids.
