        Valuation of ecosystem services in the organic carbon of the Pinus densiflora forest at Mt. Namsan, Seoul Metropolitan City

        Background: Standing biomass, litter production, rate of litter decomposition, amount of litter on forest floor, and amount of soil organic carbon distribution were investigated from March 2016 to November 2018 in order to evaluate the ecosystem value through organic carbon distribution in the Pinus densiflora forest at Namsan, Seoul Metropolitan City. Results: The amount of organic carbon in the Pinus densiflora forest was 261.09 ton C ha<sup>-1</sup> during the research period, and fixed organic carbon in plant through net photosynthesis was 3.2 ton C ha<sup>-1</sup> year<sup>-1</sup>. The organic carbon in plant was 62.77 ton C ha<sup>-1</sup> (24.04%), in litter on the forest floor was 3.65 ton C ha<sup>-1</sup> (1.40%), and in soil was 194.67 ton C ha<sup>-1</sup> (74.56%). The value of plant, litter on forest floor, and soil organic carbon distribution were each 6,277,000 won ha<sup>-1</sup>, 365, 000 won ha<sup>-1</sup>, and 19,467,000 won ha<sup>-1</sup>. The value per ton of fixed organic carbon in plant through net photosynthesis was 320,000 won ha<sup>-1</sup> year<sup>-1</sup> and the value of ecosystem services stored in carbon in the Namsan forest ecosystem was about 26.1 million won ha<sup>-1</sup> for 3 years. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that the pine forests of Namsan rapidly decompose leaves due to the high atmospheric temperature and accumulate a large amount of organic carbon in the soil to provide climate control regulatory service function.

Proceedings of International Symposium on East-West Medicine, Seoul. 212-230, 1999. -Hepatitis B is caused by hepadnavirus. Hepatitis B virus replicates through 3.5kb pregenomic RNA intermediate which is regulated by core promoter. Pathogenesis of hepatitis B virus has been bilieved the result of host immune response. But recently many studies have reported that high level of viral replication caused by mutation in core promoter might result in severs hepatitis. But these studies were performed in vitro, not in vivo. So there is yet debate about which factor, viral of host factor, is more important in pathogenesis of hepatitis B virus. So we measured real viral replication level in 204 chronic hepatitis B patients by quantifying HBV DNA from sera by our novel PCR-based more sensitive method, and compared these results with ALT level measured from same sera, which indicates liver cell damage. Surprisingly there are no significant correlation between HBV DNA quantity and ALT level. Then we cloned core promoter region. In SSCP, we found that many viral mutants coexist in one patient. Base on SSCP result, we chose main viral core promoter type in each patients, which is thought to determine overall viral replication level in this patient. Main type of core promoter region of each 41 patients were directly sequenced. And with these we measured promoter activity by luciferase assay system and compared promoter activity with on another. We found tha there were some differences in promoter activity according to core promoter sequences. And we constructed replication-competent viral constructs with core promoter from 41 patients and Transfected these into HepG2 cell and measured HBV DNA by southern blot. There were also differences in HBV DNA quantity according to core promoter sequences. On these all results we investigated correlation between the effect of HBV core promoter on viral replication in vitro and HBN DNA quantity, ALT level from sera of each patients. We found there is no significant correlation among them. As a result, we concluded that in determining severity chronic hepatitis B patients, host factors of each patient is more important rather than replicative activity of virus itself.

        These days the supply of national medical market has been continue to exceed since the 2000s, as a response to this situation, investment for medical facility is overgrowing up, but it makes insolvency of medical institutions and the healthcare consumer's complain has been growing up. Accordingly, this study will point out the ineffective response to the changes to the external environment of medical institution as a cause for this situation, through the literature research method to access medical consumer's complain in terms of marketing approach, propose an offering the customer-centric medical service not the doctor-centric focus on technology as a solution, and as an innovative marketing strategy of medical guidelines for the effective service of customer-centric medical service, firstly derive the quality evaluation criteria for medical service with 7P as a central figure, secondly present the design direction of the medical institution's internal organization for offering customer-centric medical service Medical examination is described as physical support(like medical facilities and equipment) and customer contact factor, so the notion of medical service is defined as a composite process of service delivery system conveyed to the customer through the interaction of customer contact factor and the physical support for medical examination, and propose the human rights and social responsibility of medical service by classifying the feature of medical service as general characteristics and unique characteristics. In the processing of deriving medical service's quality evaluation criteria, devide the quality of medical service into technical quality and functional quality based on the definition of user-centered concepts of the views of various scholars, approach the evaluation factors of medical service quality a level of truth, exploring and experience, and customer's final quality recognition is analyzed as being formed through the comparison the expected service with recognized service. For achieving the marketing goal of medical institution, we insist on the need of 7P's marketing mix of medical service adding person, physical evidence and process on the original 4P's marketing mix which means products, price, place and promotion, and presented by total 48 evaluation factors for every 7P, propose the range of improving medical institution's quality and the reason for reasonable judgement for the medical customer about future quality of medical service. In the traditional internal organization focus on manufacturing, marketing departments is composed as marketing-oriented, that marketing department takes responsibility of marketing and accomplishes of it, but the medical institution's internal organization should be designed customer-centric because it's marketing function and marketing departments are related with the customer, so it's marketing is evolved mutually. Medical institution's customer-centric internal organization design is proposed into three categories of marketing, production and management, and we present the role and the perform functions, of each part of design. Finally, marketing strategies of medical institution for overcoming today's excess supply and customer's complain of medical market, are involving the 7P's marketing mix related to medical service for offering to the customer-centric medical service and designing&developing customer-centric internal organization effectively for product the high quality medical service and delivering it to the medical customer effectively.

      • 전치 태반의 임상적 고찰

        This study was undertaken for the clinical evaluation and statistical analysis on the 38 cases of placenta previa who were admitted and treated from March 1, 1988 to Feb. 28, 1991. The results were as follows : 1. The incidence of placenta previa was one per 53 deliveries or 1.90% 2. There were 57.9 % total placenta previa, 21.1 % partial placenta previa, 13.1 % low-lying placenta previa and 7.9% marginal placenta previa. 3. Placenta previa has occured more often in multipara (63.2%) than primigravida 4. More than one-third (38.8%) cases of placenta previa had delayed admission until labor occured for some time following vaginal spotting has first time been noticed. More instructive prenatal education should be emphasized 5. Lower segment transverse section rate was 63.2%, classical cesarean section rate was 15.8% and cesarean hysterectomy was 9.8%. The rest of them were treated by vaginal deliveries of 5 cases(13.2%) 6. The perinatal loss associated with placenta previa was considered still higher : the premature death was 15.8% and term death was 2.6%. The problem of prevention of prematurity still remains to be studied. 7. There was no maternal mortality in our study

      • 쓰레기 소각재를 잔골재로 혼합한 콘크리트의 기초적 물성연구

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the material characteristics and strength properties of concrete mixed with waste incinerated bottom ash(BA), and to evaluate the leaching of environmentally harmful heavy metals from the bottom ash itself and from hardened concrete mixed with bottom ash. For this purpose, two reference mixed with W/C ratio of 0.45 and 0.55 were used, and the replacement proportion of BA was varied with ratios of 0, 30, 50, 70 and 100% by volume of fine aggregate in the reference mixes. The variation of compressive and splitting tensile strength, workability and unit weight of concrete were considered. Test results showed that the strengths, workability and unit weight decreased with increase in proportion of BA replaced. Leaching test results showed that there would be no environmentally harmful problem from using BA as substitutes of fine aggregates in concrete.

      • 전류제어형 PWM 컨버터를 이용한 On-Line 무정전 전원장치에 관한 연구

        Recently, according to the increasing critical loads such as commutation system, life support system in hospital, Computer, the supplying of stable power becomes more and more important. However line fault such as power failure, the variation of voltage or frequency frequently occurs since Utility supplies power to many kinds of loads through the same transmission line. Therefore it is indespensable to stabilize power source like UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply). UPS system is divided into of-line type and on-line system is studied which can improve various drawbacks of off-line system. And the application of PWM converter to on-line UPS system is proposed and the PWM converter of input characteristics is investigated. As current control method, triangular method is adopted and PI controller is used for DC voltage regulation. And RMS control method is used for PWM inverter. This system is verified by digital simulation using ACSL package.

      • Sezary증후군과 병발된 용혈성 빈혈 1예

        저자등은 전신적인 소양감을 동반한 홍반성 판상의 피부 병변과 자가 면역성 용혈성 빈혈이 동반된 Sezary 증후군을 진단하고 복합 화학 요법 CHOP으로 치료하여 피부 증상과 빈혈이 호전된 예를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하였다. Sezary syndrome(SS), a leukemic variant of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma(CTCL), is monoclonal proliferation of CD4 T-cell having cerebriform nuclei in the skin and the peripheral blood. It is associated with erythroderma, pruritis, lymphadenopathy with protracted clinical course and systemic spread. We present a case of SS i a 38-year-old woman with generalized exfoliative erythroderma, plaques, and pruritus. Histopathologic findings of the skin lesions revealed infiltration of atypical lymphocytes in the dermis and epidermis. Electron microscopic findings of peripheral blood and skin showed atypical lymphocytes with cerebriform nuclei. Laboratory findings revealed direct Coombs' positive autoimmune hemolytic anemia, a rare association of SS. Chemotherapy with CHOP produced improvement of the skin manifestation and anemia.

        김치유래 젖산균의 균체지방산 분석을 이용한 분류학적 연구

        표준균주를 포함한 230여개의 김치유래 젖산균에 대한 균체지방산(FAMEs)을 분석하였다. FAMEs profiles는 Euclidian Distance 17.5에 의해 7개의 Major Cluster와 1개의 Single Cluster로 나뉘어졌다. 이중 A, B, C 및 Cluster는 Leuconostoc속으로 분석되어졌고, F는 Lactobacillus속으로 분석되어졌다. 그리고 E와 G cluster는 두개의 Genus가 혼재되어 나타났으며 보충적인 연구가 필요하다. 앞으로 김치유래 젖산균의 균체지방산 분석결과를 기반으로 한 데이타베이스에 95가지 탄소원을 이용하는 수치분류학적 접근방법 및 Pyrolysis Mass Spectrometry 등의 화학적 분석 방법과 분자친화적 연구를 통한 종합적 분류정보 체계가 갖추어지면 젖산균의 신속, 정확한 동정 및 연구에 활발히 이용되어질 것이다. Two hundreds and thirty lactic acid bacteria, mostly isolated from Kimchi, including type strains were sued for analysis of cellular fatty acids. The 230 test strains were recoverd in 7 major and 1 single clusters defined a Euclidian distance of 17.5. These aggregate taxa were equivalent to the genus Leuconostoc (aggregate group A, B, C and D), and the genera Leuconostoc and Lactobacillus (aggregate group G). It is concluded as evident that FAMEs (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) profile of cell can be used as a criterion in classification of lactic acid bacterial from kimchi. Additional comparative taxonomic studies need to be carried out on well chosen representative strains to determine the most appropriate methods of value.
