Chloroplasts are plant-specific organelles, which have their own genome. Most of the plant chloroplast genomes (CP genome) are highly conserved in terms of its gene contents and genome structures, and they exist in cells with abundant copy numbers. Because of numerous copy numbers, the complete chloroplast sequence assembly pipeline with small amount of whole genome resequencing data, produced by NGS technique, was established in our laboratory. From 14 accessions of cabbage (Brassica oleracea L.) resequencing data produced by Illumina Hi-seq 2000, CP genomes were assembled and compared to each other. 18 sequence variance regions were detected, and 6 HRM(High Resolution Melting curves) markers were developed. Approximately 1 Gb of whole genome sequencing data of 10 Brassica rapa and 2 Brassica napus were also obtained from Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science. With these resequencing data, all CP genomes from these accessions were assembled. Total 27 complete CP genomes of B.oleracea, B.rapa, B.napus, and brassico-raphanus which is a novel allotetraploid species between B.rapa and Raphanus sativus, were compared in sequence level. Phylogenetic analysis based on the comparison revealed that B.rapa could be the maternal species when rapeseeds and brassico-raphanus became allotetraploid species. Additionally, CP genome of B.napus cv.M083 is closer to B.rapa accessions than the other B.napus accessions, thus B.napus could have several different origins.

<P>We performed chloroplast genome sequencing and comparative analysis of two Rutaceae species, <I>Zanthoxylum schinifolium</I> (Korean pepper tree) and <I>Z. piperitum</I> (Japanese pepper tree), which are medicinal and culinary crops in Asia. We identified more than 837 single nucleotide polymorphisms and 103 insertions/deletions (InDels) based on a comparison of the two chloroplast genomes and developed seven DNA markers derived from five tandem repeats and two InDel variations that discriminated between Korean <I>Zanthoxylum</I> species. Metabolite profile analysis pointed to three metabolic groups, one with Korean <I>Z. piperitum</I> samples, one with Korean <I>Z. schinifolium</I> samples, and the last containing all the tested Chinese <I>Zanthoxylum</I> species samples, which are considered to be <I>Z. bungeanum</I> based on our results. Two markers were capable of distinguishing among these three groups. Objective-We designed a nationwide study with limited exclusion criteria to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Korea and its relationship with antipsychotic medications. Methods-This multicenter, cross-sectional, and observational study included patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Sixteen hospitals enrolled 845 patients aged 18 to 65 years prescribed any antipsychotic medication between August 2011 and August 2013. MetS was diagnosed using the criteria of the modified Adult Treatment Panel III of the National Cholesterol Education Program with the Korean abdominal obesity definition (waist circumference ≥85 cm in women, ≥90 cm in men). Results-The prevalence of MetS in all patients was 36.5% and was significantly higher in men than women (men, 40.8%; women, 32.2%) and was significantly correlated with age [odds ratio (OR) 1.02] and duration of illness (OR 1.03). The prevalence of MetS across antipsychotic drugs in the major monotherapy group was as follows: 18.8% for quetiapine, 22.0% for aripiprazole, 33.3% for both amisulpride and paliperidone, 34.0% for olanzapine, 35% for risperidone, 39.4% for haloperidol, and 44.7% for clozapine. Conclusion-The prevalence of MetS is very high in patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Screening and monitoring of MetS is also strongly recommended.

애플의 iPhone 및 LG 의 프라다 폰 등을 기점으로 국내, 국외 제조사들은 전면 터치 스크린을 적용한 다양한 모바일 폰을 출시 또는 출시를 앞두고 있다. 모바일 폰에 적용되는 전면 터치 스크린은 4-방향키 기반의 일반적인 네비게이션의 제한에서 벗어나 보다 다양하고 진보된 스타일의 인터랙션을 가능하게 한다. 반면 이런 장점은 오히려 사용자에게 많은 학습을 요구하게 되며, 다른 제조사에서 제작된 하드웨어로 바꿀 때마다 또 다른 인터랙션 스타일을 학습하고 적응해야 하는 불편을 야기하게 만드는 원인이 될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 전면 터치 스크린 기반의 모바일 폰에 적용할 공통적이고 기본적인 인터랙션 스타일 가이드라인을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 기존에 출시된 터치 스크린이 일부 적용된 단말을 검토하여 기본적인 인터랙션 요소를 추출하였다. 그리고, 해당 요소에 적합한 인터랙션 스타일을 선정하기 위한 사용자 조사를 수행하고, 이를 기반으로 기본 인터랙션 가이드라인을 도출하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 인터랙션 스타일 가이드라인은 다양한 제조사의 전면 터치 스크린 기반의 모바일 폰을 사용함에 있어 기본적인 요소에 대해서는 일관되고 예측이 가능한 사용 경험을 제공하도록 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

We propose an algorithm to find the footstep classification of person movement using seismic sensor. A field study were conducted in 2011 at Jeju national university, to document seismic signature of a person who is walking crawling and running in ground. The person generated a vertical ground vibration were recorded using 2000 Hz of sampling frequency with geophone (GD20DX). The hypothetical sensor performance predictions were made using a s statistical signal processing approach is developed footstep classification of the movement of a person. We experimentally verified the algorithm of the footstep classification by using the collected seismic data.

레이저를 이용하여 유기물 필름을 유기발광 다이오드(OLED) 기판에 입히는 방법에는 레이저 승화법(laser induced pattern-wise sublimation;LIPS)과 레이저 열전사법(laser induced thermal printing;LITI)이 있다. 이 두 방법에 사용하는 공여 기판에 대하여 공여기판과 수여기판 사이의 두께를 조절하면서 레이저 입사 시간에 따른 유기 필름의 승화와 OLED 기판에 부착된 유기 필름을 광학현미경, 형광현미경, 원자현미경을 이용하여 관측하고 유기물이 이동하는 과정을 분석하였다.

[Purpose] This study analyzed data from the 7<sup>th</sup> Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) to compare the differences in energy intake and physical activity (PA) levels in middle-aged Korean men aged 40-59 years according to household type and the presence of metabolic syndrome (MetS). [Methods] Data from 2,266 young adults (aged >39 years and <60 years) were obtained from the KNHANES. We analyzed the differences in energy intake and PA levels according to household type and MetS. The presence or absence of MetS was determined by measuring waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride, and HDL-C levels. [Results] Regarding total nutritional intake, no relationship with MetS was observed regardless of household type (interaction between MetS and household type: p = 0.875). No differences in total PA were observed between multiple- and single-person households (interaction between MetS and household type: p = 0.122). The relationship between MetS and MetS components according to nutritional intake showed that participants with a higher energy intake had a 27% lower prevalence of low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) (p < 0.05) and a 36% higher prevalence of high blood pressure (p < 0.01). The relationship between MetS and MetS components according to the PA level showed significantly reduced prevalence of MetS by approximately 39%, 35%, and 43% (p < 0.01, 0.01, and 0.001) in subjects who were somewhat active, active, and very active, respectively, compared to inactivity. [Conclusion] Middle-aged men showed no difference in nutritional intake and PA between multiple- and single- person households. However, the risk of MetS was significantly higher in participants with approximately 1.5 times the energy intake compared to the group with the lowest energy intake. Moreover, higher levels of PA had a marked positive effect on the risk factors and prevalence of MetS. Therefore, we suggest that reducing the total energy intake and increasing total PA are important for preventing MetS in middle-aged men regardless of household type.

This research introduces variable discharging/charging experiments and their electrochemical characteristics analysis of a prismatic LiNiMnCoO2 (NMC) cell with a large rated capacity. This cell can be clearly considered as the representative cell for electric-powered application such as electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) with purposes of an operating power source and grid-connection with renewable sources, respectively. Some differences in electrochemical characteristics between prismatic cells and cylindrical 18650/26650 cells that has a small rated capacity are discussed in this research. According to three discharging current rate (C-rate) conditions, some internal parameters such as discharge capacity, open-circuit voltage (OCV), nominal voltage, internal resistance and surface temperatures at 25°C are measured and compared. From these extensive experiments, it is possible to get useful information in order to establish the battery management system (BMS) for efficient discharging/charging of electric-powered application. For reference, in order to accomplish the purpose of this research, a 94Ah prismatic NMC cell was used.
