        Size-tunable palladium nanoparticles synthesized using the solution plasma process and their electrocatalytic activities

        <P>In this work, for fuel cell applications, size-tunable Pd nanoparticles were synthesized by adjusting the applied voltage in a range from 2.4 to 3.2 kV in solution plasma. The crystalline structure and morphology of the size-tuned Pd nanoparticles were examined using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). The results revealed that the size of the Pd nanoparticles could be varied by tuning the Pd concentration in the plasma, which could be achieved by changing the applied voltages. The size of the Pd nanoparticles gradually decreased with increasing voltage, and the smallest Pd nanoparticles of 4.7 nm in diameter were observed at the highest voltage of 3.2 kV. According to the cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry tests, the Pd nanoparticles of 5.7 nm in diameter exhibited the enhanced catalytic activity and durability for methanol oxidation since the Pd surface was less covered by OH species.         ERP, AT 실무교육이 취업 특성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 ERP, AT 실무교육이 취업특성에 미치는 영향을 검증하기 위하여 Pearson’s correlation coefficient를 이용한 상관관계 분석과 평균차이 분석, 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 유의수준 p<0.1( 90%)에서 해석하였다. 본 연구의 구성은 다음과 같다. 제Ⅰ장에서는 연구의 배경 및 연구의 목적, 연구의 범위 및 방법을 기술하였고, 제Ⅱ장에서는 본 연구와 관련된 선행연구와 가설설정을 서술하였으며, 제Ⅲ장 연구설계에서는 연구모형과 변수정의에 대하여 기술하였다. 그리고 제Ⅳ장 실증분석에서는 기술통계 결과를 제시하고 상관관계분석의 결과 및 해석과 평균차이분석의 결과 및 해석, 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석의 결과 및 해석을 기술하였으며, 마지막 제Ⅴ장에서는 연구의 결과와 시사점을 기술하였다. 본 연구모형의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 및 해석을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구모형 1-1의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에서는 ERP 인사정보관리사 자격취득이 취업시기에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 연구가설이 채택되었다. 그리고 연구모형 1-2의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에서도 ERP Master 자격취득, ERP물류 정보관리사 자격취득, ERP생산 정보관리사 자격취득이 취업기업 규모에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 연구가설이 채택되었다. 또한 연구모형 1-3의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에서는 ERP물류 정보관리사 자격취득, ERP생산 정보관리사 자격취득이 취업지역에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 연구가설이 채택되었다. 둘째, 연구모형 2-3의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에서는 TAT 2급 자격취득이 취업지역에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 연구가설이 채택되었다. 셋째, 연구모형 3-2의 이분형 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과에서는 본사방문 여부와 임원특강 참여여부가 취업기업 규모에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타남으로써 연구가설이 채택되었다. Correlation analysis using pearson’s correlation coefficient, mean difference analysis and binary logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the effects of employment characteristics of accounting practical education, such as ERP and AT using significance level p<0.1 (90%). For this study, we made following contents. Chapter 1 describes research background, research purpose, research range and research method. Chapter 2 describes precedent researches literatures related and research hypothesis, Chapter 3 which is research design describes the research models and definitions of variables. Chapter 4 which is empirical analysis provides the results of descriptive stastics and describes the results and explanations on the correlationa analysis, mean difference analysis and binary logistic regression analysis. And chapter 5 describes the implications and results of the research. This analysis registered samples at A university in Gwangju. Compositions of this study are following. The first chapter described backgrounds of study, objects of study and methods of study. The second chapter described advanced research and hypothesis. So, the third chapter described research model and defined variable. And the fourth chapter analyzed and interpreted the correlation analysis and the multiple regression analysis. Finally, the fifth chapter suggested conclusion of the study, limitation of the study and future direction of the study. Following is the summary of the results and explanations of binary logistic regression analysis of this research model. First, the result of binary logistic regression analysis of research model 1-1 shows that the acquisition of license of ERP (personnel information manager model) made significant effects to the employment period accepting the research hypothesis. Second, the result of binary logistic regression analysis of research model 2-3 shows that the acquisition of license of TAT 2 made significant effects to the employment locations accepting the5 research hypothesis. Third, the result of binary logistic regression analysis of research model 3-2 shows that the visiting headquarter and participation on the directors’ special speech made significant effects to the size of employment company accepting the research hypothesis.

        Investigation of Ginsenosides and Antioxidant Activities in the Roots, Leaves, and Stems of Hydroponic-Cultured Ginseng (Panax ginseng Meyer)

        There has been very little reported on ginsenoside composition and antioxidant activity of hydroponic-cultured ginseng roots (HCR), leaves (HCL), and stems (HCS). We profiled 6 ginsenoside compounds in HCR, HCL, and HCS using high-performance liquid chromatography. Antioxidative activity of HCR, HCL, and HCS were evaluated using total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free-radical-scavenging activity assays, and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. Total ginsenoside contents of HCL and HCS were significantly higher than that of HCR (P<0.05). Rb1 was detected in HCR (23.02 mg/g) but was detected at very low levels in HCL and HCS (2.07∼7.30 mg/g). Rg1 was the most abundant ingredient in HCL, followed by Rd; this was different than for HCR and HCS. The TPC and TFC ranged from 52.82∼155.31 mg gallic acid equivalent/100 g and 194.71∼256.52 mg quercetin equivalent/100 g, respectively, of which HCL contained the highest levels. Moreover, HCL was the most effective in both DPPH and FRAP activities. In this study, we also evaluated the inhibitory effect of HCR, HCL, and HCS on the activities of mushroom tyrosinase through whitening activity test. The inhibitory effect of HCL on tyrosinase activity was higher than that of HCR and HCS. This study provides information about ginsenoside contents and the antioxidative activity of hydroponic-cultured ginseng, and suggests that the whole ginseng plant (including roots, leaves, and stems) may be a beneficial functional vegetables.

        Structural assessment of the tetramerization domain and DNA-binding domain of CP2c

        Although the transcription factor CP2c has been recently validated as a promising target for development of novel anticancer therapy, its structure has not been solved yet. In the present study, the purified recombinant protein corresponding to the tetramerization domain of CP2c appeared to be well folded, whereas the Elf-1 domain showed a largely unfolded conformation. Particularly, the Elf-1 domain, which contains the putative DNA-binding region, showed a conformational equilibrium between relatively less-ordered and well-ordered conformers. Interestingly, addition of zinc shifted the equilibrium to the relatively more structured conformer, whereas zinc binding decreased the overall stability of the protein, leading to a promoted precipitation. Likewise, a dodecapeptide that has been suggested to bind to the Elf-1 domain also appeared to shift the conformational equilibrium and to destabilize the protein. These results constitute the first structural characterization of the CP2c domains and newly suggest that zinc ion might be involved in the conformational regulation of the protein.

        A diaminomaleonitrile based selective colorimetric chemosensor for copper(<small>II</small>) and fluoride ions

        <P>A new and simple colorimetric receptor <B>1</B>, based on 2,3-diaminomaleonitrile and julolidine moieties, has been synthesized and characterized. <B>1</B> showed a selective colorimetric sensing ability for copper(<SMALL>II</SMALL>) ions by changing color from yellow to colorless, and could be utilized to monitor Cu<SUP>2+</SUP> over a wide pH range of 4–12. The detection limit of <B>1</B> (2.1 μM) for Cu<SUP>2+</SUP> ions is much lower than that recommended by WHO in drinking water (30 μM). Moreover, the receptor <B>1</B> can also detect fluoride by color change from yellow to orange, distinguishing the fluoride ions effectively from anions such as CH<SUB>3</SUB>COO<SUP>−</SUP> and CN<SUP>−</SUP>. It was also found that the <B>1</B>–F<SUP>−</SUP> complex was reversibly bound and could be simply reverted back through treatment with a proper reagent such as HCl.       • Preparation of Surimi-like Materials Using Spent Hen

        To investigate the manufacturing methods of surimi-like materials (SLM) from breast muscle of spent hen, the muscles were diced, chopped and washed with distilled water or sodium chloride solution at 0.1, 0.5 and 1% level and then washed with distilled water to extract myofibrillar protein. When used only distilled water to extract myofibrillar protein, washing was repeated 3 times followed by homogenization and centrifugation of breast muscle after each washing (CM; conventional method). Whereas, to extract myofibrillar protein using sodium chloride solution had sufficient to do 2 times washing by distilled water after 1 time washing by sodium chloride followed by homogenization and centrifugation of breast muscle after each washing (NM; new method). The both batter and cooked SLM gel from NM had significantly (p<0.05) lower redness compared with CM. Again, SDS-PAGE with sarcoplasmic protein fractions showed that the bands of phosphorylase had increased staining intensity in NM compared with CM. These results indicated that the brightness was related to sarcoplasmic protein fractions. SDS-PAGE with myofibrillar protein showed that the bands of myosin had increased staining intensity in NM compared with CM. Data implied that myofibrillar protein extraction with sodium chloride solution had the better adaptability for the breast muscle of spent hen then the commonly used distilled water method.

        Blockade of central vascular endothelial growth factor-A pathway attenuates inflammatory orofacial pain in rats

        The present study investigated the role of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-A pathway in inflammatory pain transmission in the orofacial region of rats. Complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA; 40 μL) or formalin (5%; 50 μL) was administered subcutaneously in the vibrissa pad of male Sprague-Dawley rats (weight: 230-280 g) to induce inflammatory pain. The findings showed that subcutaneous injection of CFA increased thermal hypersensitivity 1 day after injection, while administration of formalin produced a biphasic nociceptive behavioral response. Furthermore, subcutaneous pretreatment with VEGF-A164 antibody did not affect head withdrawal latency time in either treatment group. In contrast, intracisternal injection of VEGF-A164 antibody (1, 5 μg) significantly suppressed thermal hypersensitivity in the CFA group and the number of scratches observed in the second phase in the formalin group. Furthermore, intracisternal administration of VEGF-A type 1 (100 μg) and VEGF-A type 2 (20 μg) receptor inhibitors resulted in attenuation of the number of scratches observed in the second phase in the formalin group. These results suggest that blockade of the central VEGF-A pathway can serve as a potential therapeutic approach for the onset of inflammatory pain in the orofacial region.
