A mathematical model to recover missing monitoring data of foundation pit

        Liu, Jiangang,Zhou, Dongdong,Liu, Kewen Techno-Press 2015 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.9 No.3

A new method is presented to recover missing deformation data of lateral walls of foundation pit when the monitoring is interrupted; the method is called Dynamic Mathematical Model - Parameter Interpolation. The deformation of lateral walls of foundation pit is mainly affected by the type of supporting structure and the situation of constraints, therefore, this paper mainly studies the two different kinds of variation law of deep horizontal displacement when the lateral walls are constrained or not, proposes two dynamic curve models of normal distribution type and logarithmic type, deals with model parameters by interpolating and obtains the parameters of missing data, then missing monitoring data could be Figured out by these parameters. Compared with the result from the common average method which is used to recover missing data, in the upper 2/3 of the inclinometer tube, the result by using this method is closer to the actual monitoring data, in the lower 1/3 part of the inclinometer tube, the result from the common average method is closer to the actual monitoring data.

Non-circular gear transmission mechanism with variable-involute and variable-cycloid composite tooth profile

        Jiangang Liu,Zhipeng Tong,Gao-Hong Yu,Xiong Zhao,Haili Zhou 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.5

Non-circular gears with small curvature radius pitch curve are often used in the mechanical transmission of special motion path, but this kind of non-circular gear produces serious undercutting. Therefore, this research presented a kind of variable-involute and variable-cycloid composite tooth profile (VIVC-CTF). A transmission ratio curve of non-circular gear was designed by using Fourier function. The tooth profile equation of VIVC-CTF and its conjugate tooth profile equation were constructed on the basis of the normal and envelope methods. The influence of slip coefficient and ellipse eccentricity on the VIVC-CTF was investigated, and the variation of slip coefficient and eccentricity on the meshing line length, theoretical contact ratio, and pressure angle at pitch curve was analyzed. The meshing experiment of the VIVCCTF non-circular gear transmission mechanism was carried out on the basis of high-speed camera technology. The theoretical results of the transmission ratio were consistent with the experimental results.

D-Galactose Induces a Mitochondrial Complex I Deficiency in Mouse Skeletal Muscle: Potential Benefits of Nutrient Combination in Ameliorating Muscle Impairment

        Liao Chang,Xin Liu,Jing Liu,Hua Li,Yanshen Yang,Jia Liu,Zihao Guo,Ke Xiao,Chen Zhang,Jiankang Liu,Xi Zhao-Wilson,Jiangang Long 한국식품영양과학회 2014 Journal of medicinal food Vol.17 No.3

Accumulating research has shown that chronic D-galactose (D-gal) exposure induces symptoms similar to natural aging in animals. Therefore, rodents chronically exposed to D-gal are increasingly used as a model for aging and delay-of-aging pharmacological research. Mitochondrial dysfunction is thought to play a vital role in aging and age-related diseases; however, whether mitochondrial dysfunction plays a significant role in mice exposed to D-gal remains unknown. In the present study, we investigated cognitive dysfunction, locomotor activity, and mitochondrial dysfunction involved in D-gal exposure in mice. We found that D-gal exposure (125 mg/kg/day, 8 weeks) resulted in a serious impairment in grip strength in mice, whereas spatial memory and locomotor coordination remained intact. Interestingly, muscular mitochondrial complex I deficiency occurred in the skeletal muscle of mice exposed to D-gal. Mitochondrial ultrastructure abnormality was implicated as a contributing factor in D-gal-induced muscular impairment. Moreover, three combinations (A, B, and C) of nutrients applied in this study effectively reversed D-gal-induced muscular impairment. Nutrient formulas B and C were especially effective in reversing complex I dysfunction in both skeletal muscle and heart muscle. These findings suggest the following: (1) chronic exposure to D-gal first results in specific muscular impairment in mice, rather than causing general, premature aging; (2) poor skeletal muscle strength induced by D-gal might be due to the mitochondrial dysfunction caused by complex I deficiency; and (3) the nutrient complexes applied in the study attenuated the skeletal muscle impairment, most likely by improving mitochondrial function.

Synthesis of core–shell structure UiO-66-NH2@Ni-MOF composite for the effective removal of uranium (VI)

        Qin Zhang,Lijiao Fan,Wenbin Liu,Yuming Xie,Jiangang Li,Guolin Huang 한국공업화학회 2023 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.124 No.-

The core–shell structure UiO-66-NH2@Ni-MOF was prepared by in-diffusion growth of 2D Ni-MOF onUiO-66-NH2 using PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone) as a structural guide. It was applied to the adsorption ofU(VI) in aqueous solution. The materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The UiO-66-NH2@Ni-MOF adsorptionto U(VI) was investigated experimentally. The study showed that the adsorption of U(VI) onto UiO-66-NH2@Ni-MOF was endothermic and spontaneous. At pH 5.00 and 308 K, the adsorption capacity was581.40 mg/g according to Langmuir model. In addition, the adsorption process can be described by thepseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity was kept at 83.83% of its original one afterfive sorption–desorption cycles, a promising indication for repetitive usage.

Quasi-optical design and analysis of a remote steering launcher for CFETR ECRH system

        Chao Zhang,Wang Xiaojie,Wu Dajun,Tang Yunying,Wang Hanlin,Li Dingzhen,Liu Fukun,Wu Muquan,Yan Peiguang,Gao Xiang,Li Jiangang 한국원자력학회 2024 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.56 No.5

In order to optimize the operational safety and reliability of the upper launcher for the CFETR ECRH system, a design of the launcher for NTM control based on the remote steering concept is currently being carried out for comparison with the front steering equivalent. This paper presents the layout design and analysis of the quasioptical system in the remote steering launcher. A 3D visual quasi-optical design tool has been developed for the quasi-optical system, which can parameterize modeling, perform general astigmatic beam calculation and show the accurate beam propagation path in the upper port. Three identical sets of quasi-optical modules are arranged in the launcher, and each one consists of two fixed double-curvature focusing mirrors, which focus and reflect the steering beams ( 12◦–12◦) from two square corrugated waveguides. The beam characteristics at the resonance layer are described, and the average beam radius is < 100 mm. The peak head loads on the surfaces of the two fixed mirrors are 1.63 MW/m2 and 1.52 MW/m2. The position and size of the beam channel in the blanket are obtained, and the opening apertures on the launcher-facing and plasma-facing sides of the blanket module are 0.54 m2 and 0.4 m2, respectively.

Molecular analysis of gastric cancer identifies subtypes associated with distinct clinical outcomes

        Cristescu, Razvan,Lee, Jeeyun,Nebozhyn, Michael,Kim, Kyoung-Mee,Ting, Jason C,Wong, Swee Seong,Liu, Jiangang,Yue, Yong Gang,Wang, Jian,Yu, Kun,Ye, Xiang S,Do, In-Gu,Liu, Shawn,Gong, Lara,Fu, Jake,Jin, Nature Publishing Group 2015 Nature medicine Vol. No.

Gastric cancer, a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, is a heterogeneous disease. We aim to establish clinically relevant molecular subtypes that would encompass this heterogeneity and provide useful clinical information. We use gene expression data to describe four molecular subtypes linked to distinct patterns of molecular alterations, disease progression and prognosis. The mesenchymal-like type includes diffuse-subtype tumors with the worst prognosis, the tendency to occur at an earlier age and the highest recurrence frequency (63%) of the four subtypes. Microsatellite-unstable tumors are hyper-mutated intestinal-subtype tumors occurring in the antrum; these have the best overall prognosis and the lowest frequency of recurrence (22%) of the four subtypes. The tumor protein 53 (TP53)-active and TP53-inactive types include patients with intermediate prognosis and recurrence rates (with respect to the other two subtypes), with the TP53-active group showing better prognosis. We describe key molecular alterations in each of the four subtypes using targeted sequencing and genome-wide copy number microarrays. We validate these subtypes in independent cohorts in order to provide a consistent and unified framework for further clinical and preclinical translational research.

Conceptual design and analysis of remote steering system for CFETR ECRH system

        Chao Zhang,Xiaojie Wang,Dajun Wu,Yunying Tang,Hanlin Wang,Dingzhen Li,Fukun Liu,Muquan Wu,Peiguang Yan,Xiang Gao,Jiangang Li Korean Nuclear Society 2024 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.56 No.2

In order to optimize the operational safety and reliability of the upper launcher for the CFETR ECRH system, a design of the launcher based on the remote steering concept is currently being carried out for comparison with the front steering equivalent. This paper presents the remote steering system's conceptual design and simulation analysis. A Square Corrugated Waveguide (SCW) of 65 × 65 mm has been designed with an optimized length of 9.35 m. By changing the relative length of the waveguide, the transmission efficiency of the SCW is optimized within the range of steering angles ±12°. Different error factors are investigated in detail, and corresponding acceptable error ranges are provided. Considering these error factors and ignoring ohmic losses and thermal effects, the relative transmission efficiency of the SCW is estimated to be >98 % within the steering angle range. A matching steering unit for the SCW is designed, which consists of an ellipsoidal focusing mirror and a steerable flat mirror. The detailed design of the steerable mirror motion trajectory is presented. Also, the influence of the possible beam incident errors caused by the steering unit on the transmission efficiency is analyzed in detail.
