Phthalate plasticizers residue in food is a serious threat to public health. Spores of Ganoderma lucidum are easy to be contaminated with phthalates during collection and processing. In this study, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was performed to remove phthalates in spores of G. lucidum, and the effects on acid and peroxide values of spores’ oil were also evaluated. The results showed SFE removed 100% of the residual di-iso-butyl phthalate, di-nbutyl phthalate and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate in the spores of G. lucidum. No significant differences in polysaccharides content and fatty acid composition were observed between SFE and control spores. However, the triterpenoid extracts of SFE spores had a 7.45% increase, significantly higher than that in control spores. Accelerated oxidation tests further implied that SFE could improve the stability of spores’ oil. Our results suggested SFE is a potential approach to remove phthalate from food related products.

Li, Lu-Ning,Jiang, Kai-Tong,Tan, Peng,Wang, Ai-Hua,Kong, Qing-Yin,Wang, Cui-Yue,Lu, Hua-Rong,Wang, Jing Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.9
The chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) has been widely used in diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). However, there is no current consensus on the impact of CXCR4 on CRC patients. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic and clinicopathological importance of CXCR4 in CRC patients. Databases, such as PubMed, Cochrane library, CBM and EMBASE updated to 2014 were searched to include eligible articles. We analysed correlations between CXCR4 expression and clinicopathological features and overall survival (OS). A total of 1, 055 CRC patients from twelve studies were included in the study. The pooled odds ratios (ORs) which indicated CXCR4 expression was likely to be associated with TNM stage (OR=0.43, CI=0.34-0.55, P<0.00001), lymph node status (OR=2.23, CI=1.23-4.05, P=0.008) and vascular invasion (OR=2.21, CI=1.11-4.39, P=0.02). Poor overall survival of CRC cancer was found to be significantly related to CXCR4 overexpression (hazard ratio (HR) 1.36 CI=1.17-1.59, P<0.0001), whereas combined ORs revealed that CXCR4 expression had no correlation with gender or differentiation. Based on the published studies, CXCR4 overexpression in patients w ith CRC indicates poor survival outcome and clinicopathological factors.

The antiproliferative effects of all the target molecules on A549 cell growth were investigated and it was found that the 14 novel compounds could suppress A549 lung cancer cell growth. Among them, compound 6b was the most effective compound in inhibiting the proliferation of A549 cells.
Theoretical formulation for vehicle-bridge interaction analysis based on perturbation method
Yongchao Tan,Liang Cao,Jiang Li 국제구조공학회 2022 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.82 No.2
A three-mass vehicle model including one rigid mass and two unsprung masses is adopted to predict the vehicle-bridge interaction (VBI) and to establish the nonlinear coupled governing equations. To overcome the numerical instability and large computation problems concerning the vehicle-bridge system, the perturbation method is used to convert the nonlinear coupled governing equations into a set of linear uncoupled equations. Formulas for bridge’s natural frequencies considering both the VBI and the dynamic responses of bridge and vehicle are proposed. Compared with the numerical results obtained by the Newmark-β method, the theoretical solutions for natural frequencies and dynamic responses are validated. The effects of the important factors of unsprung mass, vehicle damping, surface irregularity on the natural frequencies and dynamic responses of bridge and vehicle are discussed, based on the theoretical solutions.
Long-core experimental study of different displacement modes on fractured-vuggy carbonate reservoirs
Wenfang Li,Jiang Chen,Xiqun Tan,Ping Liu,Yun Li,Limin Wang 한국자원공학회 2018 Geosystem engineering Vol.21 No.2
It is difficult to utilize real fractured–vuggy carbonate cores to conduct long-core displacement experiments due to the special structures of fractured and vuggy. Aiming to not affect the porosity and permeability of the original core structure, a special filling method on the sunken space of the core surface was created to meet the requirements of long-core experiments. Long-core experiments of depletion drive, water flooding, gas drive, and water alternating gas (WAG) drive were performed to simulate the actual conditions of one-dimension oil reservoir and systematically study the influence of different development approaches on the recovery of vuggy carbonate reservoirs. Results show that the optimal conversion pressure of water flooding is between 80% bubble point and bubble point pressure. In the high-pressure and high water-cut stage, the development effect of gas–water alternative drive becomes significant, it can effectively reduce water cut and improve oil recovery. The most suitable and effective displacement mode is adopted depletion drive first and converts water flooding when the pressure decreases between 80% bubble point and bubble point pressure. When the water cut approximately reaches 80%, then WAG flooding is performed. The experiments provide data and technical support for the rational development of vuggy carbonate reservoirs.

Identification and characterization of presence/absence variation in maize genotype Mo17
Lu Jiang,Yuanda Lv,Tan Li,Han Zhao,Tifu Zhang 한국유전학회 2015 Genes & Genomics Vol.37 No.6
Presence/absence variation (PAV), a major class of genome structure variation, is pervasive in the maize genome. PAVs present in the B73 but absent from the Mo17 genome have been reported in previous studies. Here, the next-generation sequencing was used to identify the PAVs present in Mo17 but absent from B73. A total of 119 PAVs were identified, of which 57 were validated by PCR. Using the intermated B73 9 Mo17 segregating population, 57 validated PAVs were mapped into the genetic map. These PAVs were dispersed on the ten chromosomes. Also, several large genetic regions of PAVs were identified. This suggested the possibility that large genetic fragments in Mo17 were absent from the B73 genome. Several PAVs were also found to be related to disease resistance suggesting that presence/absence variations in the genome may play a role in disease resistances in maize. In addition, the majority of the genes within PAV were transcriptionally silenced or expressed at low levels in some tissues, especially for PAVs related to disease resistance. The results of this study not only provided the identities of additional PAVs in maize but also helped understand the functional role of PAVs in this agriculturally important crop.

Excessive cardiac fibrosis is central to adverse cardiac remodeling and dysfunction leading to heart failure in many cardiac diseases. Histone methylation plays a crucial role in various pathophysiological events. However, the role of histone methylation modification enzymes in pathological cardiac fibrosis needs to be fully elucidated. Here, we identified lysine demethylase 5B (KDM5B), a histone H3K4me2/me3 demethylase, as a key epigenetic mediator of pathological cardiac fibrosis. KDM5B expression was upregulated in cardiac fibroblasts and myocardial tissues in response to pathological stress. KDM5B deficiency markedly ameliorated cardiac fibrosis, improved cardiac function, and prevented adverse cardiac remodeling following myocardial infarction (MI) or pressure overload. KDM5B knockout or inhibitor treatment constrained the transition of cardiac fibroblasts to profibrogenic myofibroblasts and suppressed fibrotic responses. KDM5B deficiency also facilitated the transformation of cardiac fibroblasts to endothelial-like cells and promoted angiogenesis in response to myocardial injury. Mechanistically, KDM5B bound to the promoter of activating transcription factor 3 (Atf3), an antifibrotic regulator of cardiac fibrosis, and inhibited ATF3 expression by demethylating the activated H3K4me2/3 modification, leading to the enhanced activation of TGF-β signaling and excessive expression of profibrotic genes. Our study indicates that KDM5B drives pathological cardiac fibrosis and represents a candidate target for intervention in cardiac dysfunction and heart failure.
Self-assembled micelles of the natural medicine ginsenosides for cancer metastasis therapy
Xia-Rong Tan,Chao-Li,Ke-Ke Feng,Jing-Qing Le,Jiang-Wen Shen,Jing-Wei Shao 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.116 No.-
The nanocarrier-based drug delivery systems have become an alternative strategy for cancer treatment. Whereas, increasing studies find that the utilization of drug carriers may result in poor biocompatibility, lower drug loading capacity and unpredictable side reactions. Therefore, we herein reported selfassembledmicelles based on herbal product ginsenosides, which are the main active ingredients ofPanax ginseng C.A. The ginsenosides-based micelle system exerts excellent biosafety, better stability, highdrug capacity, and lower cytotoxicity compared to free ginsenosides. Meanwhile, ginsenosides micellesexhibits superior inhibitory effects on cancer cell adhesion activity, especially the expression of intercellularadhesion molecule-1, which is the critical factor of cancer metastasis. Importantly, ginsenosidesmicelles results in remarkably therapeutic efficacy on lung metastasis of liver cancer. All these resultshighlight the potential utilization of ginsenosides micelles in the clinic. Meanwhile, the carrier-freenano-drugs self-delivery system of ginsenosides showed great promise to become an emerging approachfor cancer metastasis therapy.
