        Seven-year old, castrated male pekingese was presented with sudden onset of pain and tetraparesis. He was diagnosed with multiple intervertebral disc disease (lesion: C6-7 [mild], T12-13 [mild], L2-3 [moderate] via MRI in 2006. After undergoing conservative therapy at local hospital, he had more severe symptom in December 2009 than before. In order to identify exact site, he had been taken second MRI and transferred to CNU VMTH. Definitive diagnosis is also multiple intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) with the same lesion except C3-4 (+++). The spinal cord between C3 and C4 is ventrally compressed by intervertebral disc and the compression is much more severe than other lesions. Since the symptoms were severe and took place rapidly and didn't respond to medical treatment, surgical treatment, ventral slot for new lesion(C3-4) was planned. After the ventral compression of spinal cord between C3 and C4 was achieved, he showed enhancement which is gradual return to normal neurologic response, sternal recumbency, and occasional standing. After postoperative treatment at local hospital, he fully recovered to the normal. It was considered that accurate diagnosis timely adequate treatment are essential for the cure of IVDD.

        The Resolver usually used in industry is the absolute angle analog sensor that must be in order driving BLDC (brushless DC) motor, and it needs RDC(Resolver-to-Digital converter) for changing the output signal to digital to be applied to the SVPWM(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm. Commonly used S/W RDC needs trigonometric function. What it takes a lot of calculation time of processor is gotten at weak point. In this paper, S/W RDC is realized except trigonometric functions as a result of feedback resolver outputs after filtering using FIR filter. thus, processing time is reduced. So. One-chip DSP Controller operating the Vector Control, RDC, and SVPWM can be designed.

        A 1-year 2-months old Shih-tzu dog was presented with history of abdominal distention and tenderness, vomiting, anorexia and constipation. On physical and laboratory examination, WBC count was severely elevated (48.38×10^(6)/μl). On radiographs and ultrasonographs, dilation of right renal pelvis and right proximal ureter and renal calculi of both kidney were shown. It was diagnosed as a infectious renal and ureteral urolithiasis. Pyelolithotomy of right kidney was undertaken. After operation, normal urination was observed and appetite was recovered. By ultrasonographic examination, hyperechoic mass was not observed in the right kidney.

        This paper shows that an AT-cut quartz crystal analyzer(Q.C.A) can be applied to the investigation of the microheological change of the polymer blend solution during solvent evaporation process casting blend on the surface of quartz crystal. he blend is made from various compositions of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc), and ethyl acetate as slovent. The resonant frequency and resonant admittance of the blend casting Q.C.A are measured simultaneously and the microheological behavior of the blend is analyzed during ethyl acetate evaporation. The PMMA/PVAc blend solution behaves several informative changes of resonant frequency and resonant admittance during ethyl acetate evaporation, depending on the evaporation time and the blend ratio. The PMMA/PVAc blend solution in ethyl acetate exhibited critical changes of resonant frequency and resonant admittance depending on the evaporation time and blend ratio. From this study, it is known that the quartz crystal analyzer can be successfully applicable to analyze viscoelastic changes on the microrheology and phase separation at the initial stage of the blends of PMMA and PVAc during the solvent, ethyl acetate evaporation process by maesuring the resonant freaquency and the resonant resistance in situ.

        웹 정보의 추출 및 통합을 위한 래퍼 시스템

        이 논문은 웹 정보를 추출하기 위한 래퍼 프로그램을 생성해내기 위한 XWS(XWEET Web-wrapper System)의 데이타 모델과 소프트웨어 개발방법에 대해 설명하고 있다. 다양한 정보 출처에 존재하는 정보에 접근하기 위해서는 원본 데이타를 공통된 데이타 모델로 변환하고 통합해야 된다. XWS 시스템은 XWEET 프로젝트의 부분으로 개발되었다. 우리는 효율적이고 사용하기 쉬운 Perl 프로그램 언어를 사용하여 XWS 시스템을 구현하였다. XWS은 다른 시스템과 구별되는 몇 가지 특징을 가지고 있다. 첫째, HTML 페이지로부터 정보를 추출하기 위해 사용되는 데이타모델과 연산자들은 HTML 문서의 다양한 뷰를 지원할 수 있는 통합된 모델을 사용한다. 둘째, XWS는 사용자가 래퍼 프로그램을 손쉽게 생성해 내기 위한 그래픽 인터페이스 프로그램을 제공한다. 셋째, 객체지향적으로 설계된 고수준의 스크립트 언어를 사용하였다. 또한 논문에서 DBLP 사이트로부터 검색된 논문 정보를 추출하기 위한 자세한 예제를 통해 XWS의 사용법을 보이고 있다. This paper describes the data model and software development of XWS, an XWEET Web-wrapper System for generation wrapper program. To access information from various information sources, one has to convert and integrate source data into the same data model. XWS is developed as a part of XWEET project. We have implemented the XWS system using the Perl programming language stressing efficiency and ease-of-use. XWS has a few distinct features. First, data model and operator used for extracting information from HTML support a unified model of different views of HTML document. Second, it provides a user-friendly interface program to enable wrapper programmer to generate wrapper easily. Third, XWS use the high-level script language designed by object-oriented methodology. In this paper, we also present the detail demonstration where it is useful for extracting article information from DBLP site.

        강원도 시판 막장제품의 이화학적 품질특성 및 생리활성 조사

        본 연구에서는 강원도에서 생산되는 전통 막장제품(MJ) 12종을 수집하여 이화학적 품질특성 및 생리활성 효과에 대해 조사하였다. pH는 4.43~5.69로 나타났고 MJ5가 가장 높았으며, 염도는 11.1~16.9%로 분포되어 있었고 MJ3이 가장 높았다. 명도는 26.2~36.9, 적색도는 3.9~11.5, 황색도는 6.5~16.6으로 분포되어 있어 제품들 간에 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 아미노태질소 함량은 제품에 따라 342.41~605.92 mg%로 나타났고 MJ2가 가장 높았으며, 유리아미노산 총량은 1,175.3~4,657.7 mg%로 다양하게 분포되어 있었다. 특히 MJ11의 유리아미노산 총량은 4,657.7 mg%로 제품들중 가장 높았고, 주요 아미노산은 glutamic acid, aspartic acid, alanine, lysine, leucine, isoleucine이었으며, 제품에 따라 GABA 함량이 높게(MJ12, MJ8, MJ4) 나타나기도 하였다. 지방산 총량은 1,598.6~2,874.4 mg%로 MJ10이 가장 높았고, 주요 지방산으로는 linoleic acid, palmitic acid, linolenic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid였으며, 오메가 6지방산이며 필수지방산인 linoleic acid가 지방산 총량 대비 약 37.7~46.7%를 차지하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 제품에 따라 401.48~746.67 μg GAE/mL로 분포되어 있었고, MJ11이 가장 높은 함량을 보였다. DPPH 및 ABTS 라디칼소거능은 총 폴리페놀 함량이 높은 MJ11, MJ8 및 MJ4가 가장 높았고, SOD 유사 활성은 MJ12 및 MJ2가 가장 높았다. 대장암세포주에 대한 세포 성장 억제 효과는 MJ1과 MJ12가 가장 높았고, 위암세포주에 대해서는 MJ3과 MJ5가, 유방암세포주에 대해서는 MJ5가 가장 높았다. 간세포에 대한 중성지질 축적 억제 효과는 MJ7이 가장 우수하였고, 항고혈압 효과는 MJ11이 가장 높았다. 이상의 결과에서 아미노태질소 함량과 유리아미노산 총량이 높은 막장제품뿐만 아니라, 항산화, 항암, 항고혈압 등의 효과를 보이는 막장제품들의 주요 원부재료는 메주, 보리, 고추씨 등이었으며 (자료 미기입), 이들 원부재료의 배합비에 따라 함량과 효능이 조금씩 다르게 나타났다. 향후 막장제품의 표준 제조방법 및 기준을 마련하기 위해서는 상기 결과들을 기초로 하여 막장 원부료의 정밀분석, 제조원료에 따른 제품들 간의 상관분석 등 보다 심도 있는 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. In this study, we investigated the physiochemical properties and biological activities of Gangwon-do endemic Makjang (MJ) products (12 types). The pH levels of all samples were in the range of 4.43 to 5.69, and MJ5 showed the highest pH (5.69). The salinities of all samples ranged from 11.1% to 16.9%. Hunter color values for L (lightness), a (redness), and b (yellowness) ranged from 26.2 to 36.9, 3.9 to 11.5, and 6.5 to 16.6, respectively. The amino nitrogen content of MJ2 was highest, whereas the total content of free amino acids of MJ11 (4,657.7 mg%) was highest. Total fatty acid contents of all samples ranged from 1,598.6 mg% to 2,874.4 mg%, with MJ10 showing the highest fatty acid content. The content of total polyphenolic compounds ranged from 401.48 to 746.67 μg tannic acid equivalent/mL, with MJ11 showing the highest content. The 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and 2,2"-azino- bis(3-ethylbenzothiozoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical scavenging effects of MJ11, MJ8, and MJ4 were 51.30% and 82.5%, 41.29% and 67.0%, and 49.88% and 87.7%, respectively. MJ12 showed the strongest growth inhibitory effect on lung cancer A549 cells, whereas MJ5 showed the strongest growth inhibitory effect on AGS gastric cancer cell and MCF-7 breast cancer cell. MJ7 showed greater lipid accumulation inhibitory activity in HepG2 cells than the others. ACE inhibitory activity of MJ11 was the highest among the samples.

      • Fucoxanthin bioavailability from fucoxanthin-fortified milk: <i>In vivo</i> and <i>in vitro</i> study

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Our previous study reported the improved stability of fucoxanthin (FX) fortified in whole milk (WM) and skimmed milk (SM). In this study, <I>in vivo</I> and <I>in vitro</I> FX bioavailability were investigated using FX-fortified milk (FX-SM and FX-WM) and microalga <I>Phaeodactylum tricornutum</I> biomass (Pt-powder). Organ tissue accumulation of FX and its metabolites (FXOH: fucoxanthinol, AXA: amarouciaxanthin A) after repeated oral administration was in the following order: FX-SM > FX-WM > Pt-powder. <I>In vivo</I> pharmacokinetic study with a single oral administration also demonstrated that the absorption of FXOH and AXA was the highest for FX-SM. To reinforce the <I>in vivo</I> results, <I>in vitro</I>-simulated digestion and Caco-2 cell uptake assays were performed, which revealed that FX-SM showed the highest FX bioaccessibility (release from food matrices) and cellular uptake efficiency of FX and FXOH. In conclusion, skimmed milk was validated as an excellent food matrix for FX application in terms of stability and bioavailability.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> FX-SM showed the highest organ tissue accumulation and plasma absorption. </LI> <LI> Higher bioaccessibility and cellular uptake efficiency of FX-SM increased FX bioavailability. </LI> <LI> Higher protein and Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> ion and lower fat accounted for the higher bioaccessibility and cellular uptake efficiency of FX-SM. </LI> </UL> </P>
