市販 ?茶를 20℃에서 相對濕度를 달리하여 저장하면서 吸濕特性을 조사하였다. ?茶의 吸濕速度는 貯藏相對濕度가 높을수록 컸으며 貯藏時間이 경과함에 따라 점차 감소하였다. ?茶의 等溫吸濕曲?은 전형적인 Sigmoid 형태를 나타내었으며 相對濕度가 일정할 때 저장시간과 흡습속도와의 관계에서 다음과 같은 式을 구할 수 있었다. ln(dw/dt)=nln(t) + ln c B.E.T. 式에 의해 구한 ?茶의 單分子層水分含量은 7.01~7.87%로 나타났다. 貯藏時間과 吸濕速度關係式에서 구한 계산치 수분함량과 실측치수분함량을 비교한 결과 거의 유사한 경향이었다. The sorption characteristics of green tea were investigated at 20℃ with various relative humidities. Particle size showed little effect on the sorption behavior of green tea. At low relative humidities below 57%, the sorption equilibrium were easily attained, but a high relative humidities above 75%, the sorption equilibrium were not reached after 10 days. From the estimation of sorption rate at arbitrary humidities an empirical equation was obtained; Ln(dw/dt)=nLn(t) + Ln c The monolayer moisture contents of green tea obtained by B.E.T. equation were found to be 7.87%(powder) and 7.01%(whole), respectively.
결핵 환자의 치료 순응도 향상을 위한 자기 간호교육의 효과

Objectives : Good compliance to standard guideline might be the most important factor for success of tuberculosis treatment. This study was performed to propose the way to promote the compliance through evaluating the effect of self-care education in pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. Methods : The subjects were 100 patients(male 82, female 18) admitted in the national tuberculosis hospital, and study period was from December 1, 2000 to March 31, 2001. Study method was a direct interview survey with questionnaire that consisted of knowledges, attitudes, compliances about tuberculosis treatment, and some characteristics of subjects. The pre- and post-educational data were compared by chi-square test and paired t-test using SPSS(ver 10.0) with α-error=0.05. Results : The mean age of the subjects was 41.8±12.8years, and most of them was male. Half of them was still drinking and smoking, and the tuberculosis treatment categories of WHO was categoryⅢ 42%, categoryⅣ 22%, categoryⅡ 21%, categoryⅠ 15% when admitted. Average prevalent period was 56.8 months, and 68% of them showed positive sputum smear test. The average knowledge level was increased from 6.88±1.85 when admitted, and 8.02±1.57 when two months after(p〈0.001), that means, the effect of education was recognized. In contrast, recognition and attitudes showed no difference. And, the frequency of subjective aggravation was higher in the group of low compliance: voluntary medication stop(p=0.022). Conclusions : This study had some limitations; lack of representativeness because the subjects were limited to the patients in one tuberculosis hospital, and, not sufficient sample size etc. Nevertheless, because the effect of the education was partly recognized, to enhance the effect of tuberculosis treatment, the contents of self-care education would be changed toward the practice with a close monitoring of the patients' compliance.

The “preventive glass ionomer restoration ”was first described by Garcia-Godoy in 1986, which was a variation of the preventive resin restoration. The preventive glass ionomer restoration has disadvantages of low wear resistance, technique sensitive, and no long term clinical evaluation. However, it has advantages as mininal setting shrinkage, fluoride release, chemical bonding to dentin and enamel, coefficient of thermal expansion sinilar to that of tooth structure, and low pulpal toxicity. Therefore, applying this technique on low stress bearing area of initial carious lesion can be a good restorative method.
두경부 종양세포주에 대한 Mithramycin A의 세포자멸사 유도성 및Cisplatin 항암작용 증가효과

Background and Objectives : Cisplatin (CP) is a major chemotherapeutic agent for head and neck cancer. However, cancer cells can get drug resistance through recovering the DNA damage by CP. Mithramycin A (MA) can inhibit gene expression of multidrug resistance gene 1, c-myc or h-ras. The goal of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of MA alone and combination of MA and CP on head and neck cancer cell lines. Materials and Methods : Two head and neck cancer cell lines (AMC-HN4, AMC-HN7) were treated with MA. The cellular proliferation, apoptosis and protein expression were measured with XTT assay, FACS analysis, and western blotting, respectively after MA treatment in cell lines. In order to know the combination effect of MA with CP, the cancer cell lines were treated with MA, CP, and MA/CP combination, and cellular proliferation, apoptosis and expression of apoptosis-associated proteins were measured. Results : MA inhibited the proliferation of head and neck cancer cells and induce dapoptosis. Increase of caspase activation, PLC-?1 fragmentation and percent apoptosis by MA treatment was blocked by z-VAD-fms, but not blocked by N-Acetyl Cystein. Combination of MA and CP significantly inhibited cancer cell growth and increased apoptosis compared to MA and CP alone, and it also suppressed the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins such as XIAP and Mcl-1. Conclusions : The present study suggests that MA alone andMA/CP combination chemotherapy could be a potential regiment for the control of the head and neck cancer.
The Performance Evaluation of NSSS Control Systems for UCN 4

NSSS Control Systems automatically mitigate transient conditions and leads to a stable plant condition without operator actions when a transient occurs during normal power operation. In this paper, the function and performance of NSSS control systems were examined and evaluated by comparing the predicted results with the measured data for the selected events. Loss of a Main Feedwater Pump and Load Rejection to House Load Operation events were selected for the evaluation among the transient tests peformed during the Power Ascension Test (PAT) of UCN unit 4. The overall schematic control actions of NSSS control systems can be evaluated easily through the observation of these two typical events. The selected events were analyzed by the KISPAC computer code[l] which had been used in developing the control logic and determining the control setpoints during the plant design. Additionally, the performance of FWCS during low power operation was evaluated. The result of evaluation showed that the NSSS control systems were designed properly and the performance of the NSSS control systems was excellent and also the computer code had a good prediction capability.

<P>The oxidative damage initiated by reactive oxygen species (ROS) is a major contributor to the functional decline and disability that characterizes aging. The anti-oxidant flavonoid, quercetin, is a plant polyphenol that may be beneficial for retarding the aging process. We examined the restoring properties of quercetin on human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs). Quercetin directly reduced either intracellular or extracellular ROS levels in aged HDFs. To find the aging-related target genes by quercetin, microarray analysis was performed and two up-regulated genes <I>LPL</I> and <I>KCNE2</I> were identified. Silencing <I>LPL</I> increased the expression levels of senescence proteins such as p16<SUP>INK4A</SUP> and p53 and silencing <I>KCNE2</I> reversed gene expressions of EGR1 and p-ERK in quercetin-treated aged HDFs. Silencing of <I>LPL</I> and <I>KCNE2</I> decreased the expression levels of anti-oxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase and catalase. Also, the mitochondrial dysfunction in aged HDFs was ameliorated by quercetin treatment. Taken together, these results suggest that quercetin has restoring effect on the cellular senescence by down-regulation of senescence activities and up-regulation of the gene expressions of anti-oxidant enzymes in aged HDFs.</P>

We experienced a case of Herpes Simplex Encephalitis in a 3 year-old boy. The diagnosis was made by clinical symptoms, CSF study, serologic test, EEG and brain CT. Herpes simplex virus specific antibody was detected from serum and cerebrospinal fluid on 36th hospital day. Patient was treated with acyclocvir and improved in association with neurological sequallae. Brief review of literatures was made.
