Creep Property and Correlation of Diffusion-Welded Alloy 800H Tubes for Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers and Steam Generators

        Dong‑Ha Kim,Sunghwan Yeo,Jun‑Hwan Kim,In‑Jin Sah,Jong‑Bae Hwang,Sang‑ji Kim,Young‑Kook Lee 대한금속·재료학회 2023 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.29 No.10

Thermal creep tests were conducted on diffusion-welded Alloy 800H tubes at 700 °C under various hoop stresses between 70 and 140 MPa using an in-situ creep measurement system. The tube-type creep specimens obtained from diffusion-welded Alloy 800H plates at 1150 °C and 10 MPa for 2 h achieved a uniform thickness with only 1.8% variation. The primary and secondary creep regimes were clear in the stain curves, while tertiary creep and subsequent material rupture were not observed due to the premature leakage of Ar gas at the interface of diffusion welding. The acquired creep strain data do not match well with the reference creep data of the Alloy 800H, which requires further work to explain the whole details. In such a context, a modified Garofalo correlation was used to fit the acquired creep data resulting in the meaningful parameters for primary creep strain and secondary creep rate. The Ar gas leakage at the interface of diffusion welding was confirmed by leakage test and microstructure investigations. The current study points to the requirement for a better diffusion welding process for Alloy 800H for use in printed circuit heat exchangers and steam generators.

고시 수재 의약품 중 피라세탐 정 및 브롬화수소산페노테롤 정의 용출시험법 개발

        김은정,이진하,박찬호,손경희,김인규,김동섭,사홍기,최후균,Kim, Eun-Jung,Lee, Jin-Ha,Park, Chan-Ho,Sohn, Kyung-Hee,Kim, In-Kyu,Kim, Dong-Sup,Sah, Hong-Kee,Choi, Hoo-Kyun 대한약학회 2011 약학회지 Vol.55 No.4

Although the dissolution test can serve as an effective tool for quality control and predictor of in vivo performance, there are a number of drugs with no established dissolution specifications in Korean Pharmaceutical Codex (KPC). Among those commercially available, Piracetam Tablets and Fenoterol hydrobromide Tablets were selected to develop the dissolution testing method. The dissolution condition was determined based on the "Guidelines on Specifications of Dissolution tests for Oral dosage forms" of Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA). The dissolution test for Piracetam Tablets was carried out under sink condition with distilled water as dissolution medium, paddle rotation speed at 50 rpm and medium volume of 900 ml. More than 80% of its label claim was released within 30 min. In case of Fenoterol hydrobromide Tablets, distilled water was also found to be suitable to ensure sink condition. The rotation speed of 50 rpm and 900 ml of dissolution medium were used to evaluate the dissolution profile. The dissolution rate of fenoterol hydrobromide was over 90% in 15 min. The HPLC analysis methods were validated in terms of accuracy, precision, specificity, linearity, quantitation limit and range. The results suggested that the analytical methods used are simple and suitable to measure the dissolution rate of piracetam and fenoterol hydrobromide. Therefore, the analysis methods could be utilized in setting dissolution specifications of Piracetam Tablets and Fenoterol hydrobromide Tablets in the revised version of KPC.

Vol.14 No.1

The mechanical design procedure is studied for the PCHE(printed circuit heat exchanger) with electrochemical etched flow channels. The effective heat transfer plates of PCHE are assembled by diffusion bonding to make a module. PCHE is widely used for industrial applications due to its compactness, cost efficiency, and serviceability at high pressure and/or temperature conditions. The limitations and technical barriers of PCHE are investigated for application to nuclear components. Rules for design and fabrication of PCHE are specified in ASME Section VIII but not in ASME Section III of nuclear components. Therefore, the calculation procedure of key dimensions of PCHE is defined based on ASME section VIII. The effective heat transfer region of PCHE is defined by several key dimensions such as the flow channel radius, edge width, wall thickness, and ridge width. The mechanical design procedure of key dimensions was incorporated into a program for easy use in the PCHE design. The effect of assumptions used in the key dimension calculation on stress values is numerically investigated. A comparative analysis is done by comparing finite element analysis results for the semi-circular flow channels with the formula based sizing calculation assuming rectangular cross sections.

Creep and creep-rupture of Alloy 617

        Wright, J.K.,Lillo, T.M.,Wright, R.N.,Kim, Woo-Gon,Sah, In-Jin,Kim, Eung-Seon,Park, Ji-Yeon,Kim, Min-Hwan Elsevier 2018 Nuclear engineering and design Vol.329 No.-

Abstract

The Ni-Cr-Mo-Co material Alloy 617 is the leading candidate for VHTR intermediate heat exchangers operating above 750°C. Time-dependent properties are an important consideration in qualifying the alloy for construction of nuclear components. Creep behavior of several different heats of Alloy 617 has been evaluated in the temperature range of 800–1000°C. Power law creep behavior was observed for the minimum creep rate, with a stress exponent of 5.6 and activation energy of approximately 400kcal/Mol. The Monkman-Grant approach relating minimum creep rate to time to rupture gave a reasonable representation of the data for all of the testing with a slope of −0.84. Similarly, a modified Monkman-Grant fit the strain to failure data reasonably well. A Larson-Miller analysis was carried out to compare rupture behavior determined in the current experiments and historical data with well-known provenance over a wide range of conditions. It appears that the properties of modern heats of material are near the lower bound of rupture behavior when all of the data are considered in the same analysis.

        박인우,김희연,천진홍,사은호,사복석,김기봉,Park, In Woo,Kim, Hee Yun,Cheon, Jin Hong,Shih, Yin-hao,Sah, Bok Seok,Kim, Ki Bong 대한한방소아과학회 2018 대한한방소아과학회지 Vol.32 No.1

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the clinical data of atopic dermatitis patients and to report the therapeutic effect of Jageum-Jung. Methods We conducted a retrospective study on the effects of treatment on atopic dermatitis patients who took Jageum-Jung from August 1, 2017 to December 20, 2017. The patients visited three times during the treatment period. The SCORAD Index score was measured and analyzed. Results Atopic dermatitis patients were 2 adults and 5 children. Both 2 adults were male (100%). Among the children, 1 child was a male (20%) and 4 children were females (80%). For adults, average age was 29.5 years, average weight was 72.75 kg, average height was 1.76 m and average BMI was $23.49kg/m^2$. For children, average age was 6.2 years, average weight was 23.92 kg, average height was 1.2 m and average BMI was $16.08kg/m^2$. The atopic dermatitis patients' average SCORAD Index score was 18.04 at first visit, 11.46 at second visit, and 7.64 at third visit. The scores lowered significantly after every visit. Conclusions The SCORAD Index in atopic dermatitis patients who took Jageum-Jung significantly decreased and it is expected that Jageum-Jung will be clinically effective in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.
