Effects of ratio of mixed gases on the surface roughness and nano-hardness of a-C:H films

Haiyang Dai,Hui Jiang,Changyong Zhan,Ningkang Huang 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.52 No.-

Methane-argon mixed gases were used for assistance in growing hydrogenated amorphous-carbon a-C:H) films. a-C:H films on p-type (100) silicon wafers were produced by middle frequency unbalanced magnetron sputtering technique at different ratios of the methane-argon gases. These films were characterized by atomic-force microscopy, nanoindentation, and Raman spectroscopy. The experimental results reveal that the nano-hardness and surface roughness of the films increase with increasing Ar concentration from 17% to 50%, while they decreased when the Ar concentration was above 50\%. The sp³/sp² ratio increases with increasing Ar concentration from 17% to 50%, but it decreased when the Ar concentration exceeded 50%, based on the results of the measurements of Raman spectroscopy. Surface-functionalized Hexagonal Mesoporous Silica Supported 5-(4-Carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl Porphyrin Manganese(III) Chloride and Their Catalytic Activity

        Wei-jie Zhang,Pingping Jiang,Ping-bo Zhang,Jia-wei Zheng,Haiyang Li 대한화학회 2012 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.33 No.12

Manganese(III) 5-(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphyrin chloride (Mn(TCPP)Cl) was grafted through amide bond on silica zeolite Y (HY), zeolite beta (Hβ) and hexagonal mesoporous silica (HMS). XRD, ICP-AES, N2 physisorption, SEM, TEM, FTIR and thermal analysis were employed to analyse these novel heterogeneous materials. These silica supported catalysts were shown to be used for epoxidation and good shape selectivity was observed. The effect of support structure on catalytic performance was also discussed. The catalytic activity remained when the catalysts were recycled five times. The energy changes about epoxidation of alkenes by NaIO4 and H2O2 were also computationally calculated to explain the different catalytic efficiency.

      • Enhanced beamforming design and sum-rate maximization for two-way multi-relay networks

Duan, Wei,Yan, Yier,Hai, Han,Jiang, Xueqin,Yu, Haiyang,Lee, Moon Ho SpringerOpen 2016 Eurasip Journal on Wireless Communications and Net Vol.2016 No.-

In this paper, we investigate an enhanced relay beamforming design for two-way relay networks (TWRN). In order to reduce the computational complexity, we derive a sum of the inverse of the signal-to-noise ratio (SI-SNR) problem equivalent to the objective sum-rate (SR) problem. The SI-SNR problem can be reformulated as a simple optimization problem by using the Cholesky decomposition and Cauchy-Schwarz inequality, and solved by the interior-point method. The numerical results show that the proposed SI-SNR method can not only reduce the computational complexity but also have the same SR performance as that of the conventional works.

An efficient Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method for aflatoxin generation fungus Aspergillus flavus

        Guomin Han,Qian Shao,Cuiping Li,Kai Zhao,Li Jiang,Jun Fan,Haiyang Jiang,Fang Tao 한국미생물학회 2018 The journal of microbiology Vol.56 No.5

Aspergillus flavus often invade many important corps and produce harmful aflatoxins both in preharvest and during storage stages. The regulation mechanism of aflatoxin biosynthesis in this fungus has not been well explored mainly due to the lack of an efficient transformation method for constructing a genome-wide gene mutant library. This challenge was resolved in this study, where a reliable and efficient Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) protocol for A. flavus NRRL 3357 was established. The results showed that removal of multinucleate conidia, to collect a homogenous sample of uninucleate conidia for use as the transformation material, is the key step in this procedure. A. tumefaciens strain AGL-1 harboring the ble gene for zeocin resistance under the control of the gpdA promoter from A. nidulans is suitable for genetic transformation of this fungus. We successfully generated A. flavus transformants with an efficiency of ~ 60 positive transformants per 106 conidia using our protocol. A small-scale insertional mutant library (~ 1,000 mutants) was constructed using this method and the resulting several mutants lacked both production of conidia and aflatoxin biosynthesis capacity. Southern blotting analysis demonstrated that the majority of the transformants contained a single T-DNA insert on the genome. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of genetic transformation of A. flavus via ATMT and our protocol provides an effective tool for construction of genome-wide gene mutant libraries for functional analysis of important genes in A. flavus.

Transcriptome analysis reveals critical genes and key pathways involved in early phyllotaxy development in maize

        Yang Zhao,Xiaojian Peng,Wenbo Chai,Yingquan Tan,Qing Dong,Haiyang Jiang,Beijiu Cheng 한국유전학회 2017 Genes & Genomics Vol.39 No.1

Integrated networks of gene expression, hormonal signaling and metabolite sensing regulate phyllotaxy pattern development. In this study, we characterized differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between maize plants with alternate and opposite phyllotaxies. Gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses showed that 2432 DEGs were involved in biological processes, molecular functions, cellular components and many pathways. Importantly, we identified 19 DEGs related to plant hormone signal transduction. Additionally, we identified four main alternative splicing types: skipped exons, retained introns, alternative 50-splice sites, and alternative 30-splice sites, which exhibited different characteristics in the alternate and opposite phyllotaxy libraries. The reliability of the sequencing data was verified through using quantitative real-time reverse transcription PCR analysis of the 19 genes: 15 were validated to play a role in phytohormone signal transduction pathways. Taken together, our data provide new insight into the mechanisms of phyllotaxy pattern development, and will increase our understanding of how relative changes in gene expression determine alternate/opposite phyllotaxy in maize.

Functional analysis of the HD-Zip I gene ZmHDZ1 in ABA-mediated salt tolerance in rice

        Qianqian Wang,Kangyong Zha,Wenbo Chai, Yu Wang,Bin Liu,Haiyang Jiang,Beijiu Cheng,Yang Zhao 한국식물학회 2017 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.60 No.2

The homeodomain-leucine zipper I (HD-Zip I) transcription factors play crucial roles in the regulation of abiotic stress responses, whereas, up to now, most of them are still functionally unknown. In present study, we identified a maize HD-Zip I gene, designing as ZmHDZ1, and investigated its potential roles in salt stress response. The qRT-PCR results showed that expression of ZmHDZ1 was induced by ABA and salt stress. Transactivation assay and transient expression analyses indicated that ZmHDZ1 protein was located in the nucleus in tobacco leaf cells and had the transactivation activity in yeast. Over-expression of ZmHDZ1 in rice reduced tolerance to salt stress, thus, led to greater accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA) as well as higher level of relative electrolyte leakage (REL) compared to WT plants. In addition, the transgenic seedlings also increased sensitivity to exogenous ABA. Furthermore, the expression levels of four salt responsive genes were different between transgenic and WT rice under normal or NaCl treatment. These results suggested that ZmHDZ1 function as a negative regulator in response to salt stress through the ABAmediated signal transduction pathways.
