Physicochemical Properties of Starches Isolated from New Potato Cultivars in Korea

Physicochemical properties of starches isolated from 3 new potato cultivars developed by Potato Valley Ltd. were investigated and compared to those of starch isolated from ‘Superior’ being distributed prominently in Korea. Significant differences were observed in physicochemical properties such as granule size, amylose content, phosphorus content, water binding capacity, swelling power, solubility, and in vitro digestibility of starches from different potato cultivars. Thermal properties were evaluated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and onset gelatinization temperatire (To), peak temperature (Tp), and enthalpies of gelatinization (ΔH) of different potato cultivars ranged as 58.0±0.3-61.7±0.4℃, 63.7±0.2-66.5±0.0℃, and 15.6±0.5-17.0±0.3 J/g, respectively. Pasting properties were evaluated using a rapid visco analyzer (RVA), and pasting temperature, peak viscosity, and final viscosity of different potato cultivars ranged as 65.0±0.1-68.9±0.1℃, 8,163.7±196.3-9,035.7±6.4 cp, and 4,397.7±166.7-7,025.0±271.3 cp, respectively. Especially, ‘Gogu valley’ starch showed the highest values in the amylose and phosphorus content among tested potato cultivars and higher water binding capacity, swelling power, and solubility than those of other tested starches. And it also showed high pasting temperature, peak viscosity, trough viscosity, and final viscosity as compared to other tested starches.
Selective Laser Direct Patterning of Indium Tin Oxide on Transparent Oxide Semiconductor Thin Films

For a wider application of laser direct patterning, selective laser ablation of indium tin oxide (ITO) film on transparent oxide semiconductor (TOS) thin film was carried out using a diode-pumped Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser at a wavelength of 1064 nm. In case of the laser ablation of ITO on indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) film, both of ITO and IGZO films were fully etched for all the conditions of the laser beams even though IGZO monolayer was not ablated at the same laser beam condition. On the contrary, in case of the laser ablation of ITO on zinc oxide (ZnO) film, it was possible to etch ITO selectively with a slight damage on ZnO layer. The selective laser ablation is expected to be due to the different coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) between ITO and ZnO.
정교화된 베케-존슨 교환 포텐셜 모델 기반의 제일원리 시뮬레이션을 통한 인장력이 가해진 Si<SUB>1-x</SUB>Ge<SUB>x</SUB>의 물성 분석

In recent days, there have been efforts to employ Ge into Si for improved electrical and optical performances. In particular, as one of the functional materials for CMOS extension, Ge is gaining popularity, which is explicitly revealed in the most recent semiconductor technology roadmaps. Tensile strain on Si is intentionally scheme by employing Ge atoms into the Si matrix for higher carrier mobilities. In this study, a series of atomic-level simulations have been conducted in consideration of the modified Becke-Johnson (mBJ) model for extract the bandgap energies and tensile strains in the SiGe alloy. It is found that the determination of conduction band minimum is turned from △valley to L valley at 77.5% of Ge fraction in the SiGe alloy. Further study demonstrates that SiGe under proper amount of tensile strain transits from indirect-bandgap material to direct-bandgap one.

본 연구에서는 1MW급 조류발전기에 적용될 제어시스템과 전력변환장치에 대한 설계와 분석을 수행하였다. 1MW급 조류발전시스템이 울돌목 해역의 조류발전 실해역 시험장에 설치되는 조건으로 저압형 AC 690V 전력변환장치를 설계하였으며 현재 제작 중에 있다. 제어시스템은 직접구동형 영구자석형 발전기, 피치시스템, 나셀시스템, HVAC, 빌지(bilge) 등으로 구성된 시스템의 제어요소와 이들에 대한 제어방법에 대하여 분석하였다. In this study, we was studied on the control and power conversion system(PCS). It is applied to the 1MW tidal power generation system. A AC 690V PCS is being designed and manufactured as a condition that a tidal current generator be installed at sea test bed for tidal current power in the Uldolmok sea area. The control system analyzed the control elements and control methods of the system consisting of direct driving PMSG(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator), pitch systems, nacelle systems, HVACs, bilge, etc.

개체명 인식은 효과적인 정보추출 시스템을 구축하기 위해 반드시 선행되어야 하는 작업이다. 지금까지의 개체명 인식에 관한 연구는 인명이나 조직, 장소와 같은 일반적인 개체명 인식 작업이 대부분이었다. 그러나, 효과적인 정보추출을 위해서는 이런 일반적인 개체명들을 더욱 세분화할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 SVM기반 기계학습법과 기구축된 사전과의 편집거리 비교법을 이용하여 개체명을 세분화하는 방법을 제시한다. 실험은 개체명과 세분화된 범주가 부착된 공연 관련 문서 100개 중 80개는 학습집합, 20개는 실험집합으로 사용하였고 성능 평가 척도는 정확도(accuracy)를 이용해 개별적으로 평가하였다. 실험 결과 기계학습법과 사전을 이용한 방법을 결합한 모델이 가장 좋은 성능(정확도 72.91%)을 보였다.
효율적인 질의 응답시스템 개발을 위한 BM25기반의 단락 검색 시스템

본 논문은 문서 단위 보다 작은 단락 단위의 검색 시스템을 사용하는 효율적인 질의 응답 시스템 개발을 위하여 문서 검색에서 성능이 검증된 Okapi 시스템의 BM25 알고리즘을 응용한 단락 검색 시스템을 제안하고, 단락 검색 시스템의 성능을 분석하고자 한다. 100만 건의 문서로 구성된 TREC Q&A track 테스트 컬렉션을 색인에 사용하고 TREC Q&A track 질의 집합 중 1~100번까지의 질의를 사용하여 실험한 결과 재현율이 100%가 되기 위해서는 문서 검색은 약 12만 문장을 검색해야 하는 반면, 단락 검색에서는 문서 검색의 약 1/17인 1700문장만으로도 100%의 재현율을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다. This paper proposes a passage retrieval system based on Okapi’s BM25 for developing an efficient QA system and evaluates performances of the passage retrieval system. The test collection of TREC Q&A track which is composed of about one million documents was indexed and a hundred queries of TREC Q&A track are used as testing queries. The experimental results shows that the proposed passage retrieval system can reach to 100% recall rate by searching in only 1700 sentences while the conventional document retrieval system have to search about 120 thousands sentences which are about 70 times more than the proposed passage retrieval system.
Modeling and Simulation of Aircraft Motion on the Ground: Part I. Derivation of Equations of Motion

Developed in these two series of paper is a complex dynamic model representing the motion of aircraft on the ground and a computer program for numerical simulation. The first part of paper presents the theoretical derivation of equations of motion of the landing gear system based on the physical principle. Developed model is 'structured' in the sense that the undercarriage system is regarded as an assembly of strut, tire, and wheel, where each component is modeled by a separate module. These modules are linked with two external modules-the aircraft and the runway characteristics-to carry out dynamic analysis and numerical simulation of the aircraft motion on the ground. Three sets of coordinate system associated with strut, wheel/tire and runway are defined, and external loads to each component and response characteristics are examined. Lagrangian formulation is used to derive the undercarriage equations of motion relative to the moving aircraft, and the resultant forces and moments from the undercarriage are transformed to aircraft body axes.
