<P>In this work, we have successfully fabricated lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite (LSCF)-gadolinium-doped ceria (GDC) composite cathodes by inkjet printing and demonstrated their functioning in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The cathodes are printed using a low-cost HP inkjet printer, and the LSCF and GDC source inks are synthesized with fluidic properties optimum for inkjet printing. The composition and microstructure of the LSCF and GDC layers are successfully controlled by controlling the color level in the printed images and the number of printing cycles, respectively. Anode-support type SOFCs with optimized LSCF-GDC composite cathodes synthesized by our inkjet printing method have achieved a power output of over 570 mW cm(-2) at 650 degrees C, which is comparable to the performance of a commercial SOFC stack. Electrochemical impedance analysis is carried out to establish a relationship between the cell performance and the compositional and structural characteristics of the printed LSCF-GDC composite cathodes.</P>
Impact of multi-vessel vasospastic angina on cardiovascular outcome

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background and aims</B></P> <P>Since clinical characteristics and prognosis of patients with multi-vessel vasospastic angina (VSA) are not clear, we investigated the nature and prognosis of multi-vessel VSA in Koreans.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Among 2960 patients enrolled in the VA-KOREA (Vasospastic Angina in Korea) registry, 104 definite multi-vessel VSA patients, 163 single vessel VSA patients and 737 non-VSA patients were identified using the intracoronary ergonovine provocation test.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>Multi-vessel VSA and single vessel VSA groups showed similar baseline characteristics and medical treatment on discharge, but different from the non-VSA group. The primary composite endpoint (cardiac death, acute coronary syndrome, and symptomatic new onset arrhythmia) over a 36-month follow-up period was significantly higher in the multi-vessel VSA group than in the single vessel VSA and non-VSA groups (8.7% <I>vs</I>. 1.8% and 1.1%, each log-rank <I>p</I> < 0.05, respectively). The rate of death and acute coronary syndrome of the multi-vessel VSA group was higher than in the single vessel VSA and non-VSA groups (5.8% <I>vs.</I> 1.2% and 0.9%, each log-rank <I>p</I> < 0.05, respectively). In addition, multi-vessel VSA was an independent predictor of the primary composite endpoint at 36 months (HR 8.5, 95% CI [2.6–27.2], <I>p</I> < 0.0001).</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>Patients with multi-vessel VSA had worse clinical outcomes than single vessel VSA and non-VSA groups, suggesting that the existence of multi-vessel VSA itself is highly prognostic.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Prevalence of multi-vessel vasospastic angina (VSA) is not low (39.0%) by strict definition. </LI> <LI> Baseline characteristics of multi-vessel and single vessel VSA groups were similar, but different from non-VSA group. </LI> <LI> Multi-vessel VSA group had worse clinical outcomes than the single vessel and non-VSA groups. </LI> <LI> Multi-vessel VSA itself is one of the independent predictors for MACE. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

administered orally over 7 days for an acute attack of gouty arthritis. The resultant multi-organ diseases, including gastrointestinal toxicity, acute renal failure, bone marrow suppression, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, hepatic dysfunction, myopathy, and alopecia, were managed sucessfully with fluid resuscitation, antibiotic treatment, mechanical venatilation, hemodialysis and other supportive therapies. For pathologic confirmation of colchicine myopathy, we performed quadriceps femoris muscle biopsy and electron microscopic examination, in which some sarcolemmal vacuoles were found but sarcolemmal membranous bodies characteristic to colchicine myopathy were not seen. We report the first case of colchicine toxicity in Korea with literature review and emphasize that severe systemic toxicity can be induced by inadvertent oral administration of colchicine in patients with risk ractors such as renal insufficiency, hepatic dysfunction, or old age.

This paper calculates the effective capacity of EES providing the primary frequency control service based on its contribution to the frequency response of the power system. The amount of governor response from conventional generators which can be replaced by the primary frequency control from EES keeping the frequency response of the power system is defined as the effective capacity. The proposed method for calculating the effective capacity of EES is verified through case studies employing Korean power system. Furthermore, the application of the effective capacity of EES to power system operation is also discussed.

Mycobacterium chelonae is a rapidly growing atypical mycobacteria that can cause both systemic and cutaneous infections as a human pathogen. This saprophyte is ubiquitous in the environment and has been found in water, soil, and dust particles Clarithromycin is a highly specific drug against M. chelonae. A 53-year-old man had a nodule on the dorsum of his right hand that had developed in 3~4 months. The lision was a slightly tender 2.0×1.5㎝ erythematous nodule and had an overlying ruptured pustule. Culture demonstrated atypical mycobacterim, with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) which confirmed M. chelonae. (Korean J Dermatol 2004;42(3):320~323)
