Methyl bromide which is most popular disinfectant of soil has been prohibited from using except for an indispensable use by 2015. Therefore we pay attention to ozone as a substitute of the methyl bromide for soil sterilization, because the ozone is easily generated by dielectric barrier discharges. We have been developing an ozone generation system which is suitable to the soil sterilization and also investigating the soil sterilization with the generated ozone. So we are investigating influences of ozone generation characteristic on the screw electrode ozonizer by changing of outer electrodes, applied voltages, and flow rates of source gases. This time, in order to investigate the influence of the outer electrode form on ozone generation properties, we used two different outer electrodes; the single electrode of 11cm width and 3-divided-electrodes of $1cm{\times}3$(electrode spaces of 4cm). As results, maximum values of the ozone concentration, the ozone yield and the ozone generation efficiency were obtained when the electrode of 11cm was used for the outer electrode.

This article deals with various photochemical processes occurring at $TiO_2$ surface and its applications in practical living conditions. In the first part, we present an overview of $TiO_2$ photocatalysis under weak W illumination with a special emphasis on bactericidal and detoxification properties of $TiO_2$ films. The second part deals with the photoinduced super hydrophilic TiCt surftce which has a wide commercial applications. In the last part, we present our recent work on boehmite-based super hydrophobic surfaces containing small amount of $TiO_2$ to obtain self-cleaning effect.

In 1999, Japanese Government revised Wholesale Market Law, and changed the policy concerning what wholesale-market traders such as wholesalers and intermediate wholesalers should be. The main revision point of the law was to change the principle of the mode of dealing. That is, sales negotiations between the persons concerned have been admitted since the revision. The change in the policy of the Government is to have begun to promote the amalgamation of traders. These have corresponded with the changes of the social climate : expansion of the supermarkets, enlargement of agri-cooperatives. increase of imports, decrease of profit rate of traders, and etc. In Japan, lots of traders will amalgamate in the future, and then the number will decrease greatly. And moreover, the wholesalers will have dealing over the processed imports in order to increase their profit.
