Ali, Shahad M.,Alshahrani, Razan F.,Hadadi, Amjad H.,Alghamdi, Tahany A.,Almuhsin, Fatimah H.,El-Sharawy, Enas E. International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.1
CPU is considered the main and most important resource in the computer system. The CPU scheduling is defined as a procedure that determines which process will enter the CPU to be executed, and another process will be waiting for its turn to be performed. CPU management scheduling algorithms are the major service in the operating systems that fulfill the maximum utilization of the CPU. This article aims to review the studies on the CPU scheduling algorithms towards comparing which is the best algorithm. After we conducted a review of the Round Robin, Shortest Job First, First Come First Served, and Priority algorithms, we found that several researchers have suggested various ways to improve CPU optimization criteria through different algorithms to improve the waiting time, response time, and turnaround time but there is no algorithm is better in all criteria.

This study focuses on enhancing the photostability of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) by incorporating it with a nanocomposite (CeO2/Sm2O3) synthesized through a chemical method. The nanocomposite’s characteristics, including the crystallite size (21.23 nm), grain size (27 nm by field emission scanning electron microscope, 23 nm by transmission electron microscope), and X-ray diffractometer analysis, were investigated. Thin PVC films with and without the nanocomposite were fabricated and analyzed for optical and morphological properties using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Photostability was assessed through indices (ICO, IPO, IOH), weight loss measurements after UV radiation exposure. Results indicate a noticeable reduction in PVC film decomposition, showcasing the nanocomposites' potential as effective light stabilizers. AFM and microscopic analyses further support the stabilizing efficiency. This research contributes valuable insights into utilizing CeO2/Sm2O3 nanocomposites for enhancing PVC photostability.

A new, sensitive, and reliable flow injection methodology was investigated for the determination of lead ion (II) in vegetables’ samples using a laboratory-prepared reagent 2-[(6-methoxy-2-benzothiazoly)azo]- 4-methoxy phenol (6-MBTAMP). Infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectrophotometry, Energy dispersive Xray spectroscopy (EDX), Elemental Analysis (CHN), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy 1HNMR, and 13CNMR techniques were used to characterize the reagent and lead (II) complex. The method is based on lead ion (II) reacting with the reagent (6-MBTAMP) in a neutral solution to produce a green-red complex with a maximum absorbance at 670 nm. The optimum conditions, such as flow rate, lead ion (II) volume, reagent volume, medium pH, reagent concentration, and reaction coil length were thoroughly examined. The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were determined to be 0.621 mg·L−1 and 2.069 mg·L−1, respectively, while Sandell's sensitivity was determined to be 0.345 μg·cm−2.

Healthcare organizations are overwhelmingly embracing smart value-based care strategies, which focuses on providing superior treatment at a significantly lower cost and quality of service (QoS). For these purposes, fifth generation (5G) of mobile service provides an innumerable improvement that clearly outperforms previous generations e.g., 3G and 4G. However, as with most advancements, 5G is projected to introduce new challenges, prompting the community to think about what comes next. This research was conducted to examine the most recent smart 5G technology applications and the solutions they provide to the healthcare industry. Finally, the paper discusses how the upcoming 6G technology has the potential to transform the future of healthcare sector even beyond the current 5G systems.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that have an impact on public policy, green products and technology in Kuala Lumpur, given government initiatives to boost the environment awareness. The data used in this study was collected by distribution questionnaires randomly in six areas of Kuala Lumpur and 400 respondents were interviewed. Based on a literature review, three hypotheses were stated and tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). SEM is a statistical analysis method that involved two or more variables in analyzing structural relationships among the variables. The SEM model shows that green products and government policies have a direct influence on environmental awareness. However, green technology does not have a direct influence on environmental awareness. Since, knowledge on green technology does not have a significant impact on raising environmental awareness among the public, a much more pragmatic awareness campaign needs to be put in place to use green technology as a part of modern living. The study suggests that the urban population needs to be more aware of the environmental issue as cities tend to have better infrastructure to raise public awareness on green issues. Moreover, the government should increase the environmental awareness among younger generation through workshops, seminars, campaigns, and pamphlets.

Nowadays, many kindergartens in Malaysia are striving toward using English in their daily activities with their children and some even use English language as their medium of instruction. However, some of the early childhood educators were not well equipped with the knowledge of English language. This paper aims to report the rationale for digitising English language learning through the development of Kindy Talk Application in terms of approach, content and design. Kindy Talk Application is a mobile application for Malaysian early childhood educators to utilise accurate language in their daily routine interactions and instructional language typically used at daycare centres. This development of the application stemmed from a series of workshops with 2 modules, namely Communication English and Storytelling techniques. These workshops aimed at increasing 30 Pahang early childhood educators’ professional development. To ensure the sustainability of the training, the Kindy Talk Application, which uses augmented reality technology was developed to allow users to practise the daily routine and instructional language using their mobile phones in a safe autonomous learning environment. This enhances the language proficiency and confidence of Malaysian early childhood educators.

Background: To assess the diagnostic potential of tumor-associated high molecular weight DNA in stool samples of 32 colorectal cancer (CRC) patients compared to 32 healthy Malaysian volunteers by means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Methods: Stool DNA was isolated and tumor-associated high molecular weight DNA (1.476 kb fragment including exons 6-9 of the p53 gene) was amplified using PCR and visualized on ethidium bromide-stained agarose gels. Results: Out of 32 CRC patients, 18 were positive for the presence of high molecular weight DNA as compared to none of the healthy individuals, resulting in an overall sensitivity of 56.3% with 100% specificity. Out of 32 patients, 23 had tumor on the left side and 9 on the right side, 16 and 2 being respectively positive. This showed that high molecular weight DNA was significantly (p = 0.022) more detectable in patients with left side tumor (69.6% vs 22.2%). Out of 32 patients, 22 had tumors larger than 1.0 cm, 18 of these (81.8%) being positive for long DNA as compared to not a single patient with tumor size smaller than 1.0 cm (p <0.001). Conclusion: We detected CRC-related high molecular weight p53 DNA in stool samples of CRC patients with an overall sensitivity of 56.3% with 100% specificity, with a strong tumor size dependence.
