The current study examines the nexus between the capital structure (debt-equity) and firm value (Tobin’s Q) by including profitability (alternatively Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE)) as a moderator in the companies of Saudi Arabia. The study sample consists of 102 companies listed on Tadawul (the Saudi Arabian stock exchange) from different sectors of Saudi Arabia during the period 2013 to 2020. The study estimates pooled regression, panel regression with fixed and random effects, and dynamic panel regression models to report the results. The study results report that there is a negative and significant association between capital structure and firm value in model 1, while in models 2 and 3 there is a more negative and significant impact between the two study variables compared to model 1 after the inclusion of interaction variable, i.e. profitability in terms of ROA and ROE. The comparative result shows that the companies of Saudi Arabia hold more debt in their capital structure mix, hence evidencing a decrease in the firm value. The reported results also show that models 2 and 3 are better in explaining the impact of capital structure on firm value due to the interaction of profitability compared to model 1.

In this investigation, an improved integral trigonometric shear deformation theory is employed to examine the vibrational behavior of the functionally graded (FG) sandwich plates resting on visco-Pasternak foundations. The studied structure is modelled with only four unknowns’ variables displacements functions. The simplicity of the developed model being in the reduced number of variables which was made with the help of the use of the indeterminate integral in the formulation. The current kinematic takes into consideration the shear deformation effect and does not require any shear correction factors as used in the first shear deformation theory. The equations of motion are determined from Hamilton’s principle with including the effect of the reaction of the visco-Pasternak’s foundation. A Galerkin technique is proposed to solve the differentials governing equations, which enables one to obtain the semi-analytical solutions of natural frequencies for various clamped and simply supported FG sandwich plates resting on visco-Pasternak foundations. The validity of proposed model is checked with others solutions found in the literature. Parametric studies are performed to illustrate the impact of various parameters as plate dimension, layer thickness ratio, inhomogeneity index, damping coefficient, vibrational mode and elastic foundation on the vibrational behavior of the FG sandwich plates.
The Antioxidant Activity and Thermal Stability of Lemon Verbena (Aloysia triphylla) Infusion

Because of its good sensorial attributes, lemon verbena is used as a primary ingredient in infusions and nonalcoholic drinks. The present study was designed to assess the antioxidant activity (AA) of lemon verbena infusion (LVI) as well as the thermal stability of its AA and the content of polyphenolic compounds. The values reflecting the AA of LVI, including AA index, fast scavenging rate against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity, and hydroxyl radical scavenging, are higher than those of many herbal infusions and antioxidant drinks estimated from reported data. In addition, the slope lag time and specific oxyradical antioxidant capacity values of LVI are comparable to those of a commercial antioxidant drink based on green tea. Hence, LVI is a source of bifunctional antioxidants, and thus in vivo studies of the antioxidant capacity of LVI would be useful to evaluate its potential as an ingredient in antioxidant drinks.

During the last fourteen years, Afghan media has played a significant role in empowering women and they still do. The media has a crucial responsibility in promoting women’s participation in society. It has the power to spread messages and raise awareness on the challenges that women face. Most importantly, media has given women the voice which has allowed them to actively engage with the Afghan government, interest groups and society at large. Directed by the media affect theories, numerous studies have been done on the media representing women around the world. The objectives of such studies have been to figure out how media present women and how media representation of women affects their role and perception in society. From the feminist media theory perspective, women representation in the women print media hassignificanteto make and points that can be translated and applied to the current paper. Women’s media has always been successful in using themes such as women empowerment agenda. These are then placed within certain contexts and meanings that convey the messages directly to the target audiences.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Nitrophenols are used extensively in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and pesticide industries. Recently, water pollution caused by nitrophenols has gained worldwide attention. Significant efforts have been made over the past years to develop effective treatment options for the removal of nitrophenols in aqueous phase. Photocatalysis using titanium dioxide (TiO<SUB>2</SUB>) is regarded as one of the most effective options to degrade nitrophenols in contaminated water. This review deals with the performance of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> photocatalysis for the degradation of nitrophenols and related mechanisms. The performance of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> photocatalysts is assessed by comparing basic performance metrics such as quantum yields and reaction rates before and after modification (e.g., pristine vs. modified forms). Results suggest that TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-based photocatalysis is a promising treatment option for degrading nitrophenol.</P>
Mechanical and thermal buckling analysis of laminated composite plates

The mechanical and thermal buckling analysis of laminated composite plates is presented in this document. Different theories of thick plates taking into account the parabolic distribution of transverse shear stresses and satisfying the condition of zero shear stresses on the top and bottom surfaces without using shear correction factor are presented and a comparison between the results obtained by these theories is also illustrated. The high order nonlinear stress-displacement relation of the plates was taken into consideration. The principle of potential energy is used to obtain the equations of equilibrium. The closed-form solutions of symmetric and antisymmetric cross-ply are obtained using Navier solution. Using math software Maple, the temperatures and the critical loads of buckling are determined. Finally, a parametric study of the influence of the various parameters such as: mode of buckling, the geometrical ratios a / b and a / h, Young's modulus, Coefficient of thermal expansion, loading type, the orientation of the fibers and the number of layers on the critical buckling temperature and the critical buckling charge is shown and discussed. Numerical results indicate that deformation due to transverse shear has a significant effect on both mechanical and thermal behavior of buckling of laminated simply supported plates.

In the present study, the thermal buckling behavior of functionally graded sandwich plates is studied using a new hyperbolic displacement model. Unlike any other theory, the theory is variationally consistent and gives four governing equations. Number of unknown functions involved in displacement field is only four, as against five in case of other shear deformation theories. This present model takes into account the parabolic distribution of transverse shear stresses and satisfies the condition of zero shear stresses on the top and bottom surfaces without using shear correction factor. Material properties and thermal expansion coefficient of the sandwich plate faces are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The core layer is still homogeneous and made of an isotropic material. The thermal loads are assumed as uniform, linear and non-linear temperature rises across the thickness direction. The results reveal that the volume fraction index, loading type and functionally graded layers thickness have significant influence on the thermal buckling of functionally graded sandwich plates.

There are many possible ways to configure database management systems (DBMSs) have challenging to manage and set.The problem increased in large-scale deployments with thousands or millions of individual DBMS that each have their setting requirements. Recent research has explored using machine learning-based (ML) agents to overcome this problem's automated tuning of DBMSs. These agents extract performance metrics and behavioral information from the DBMS and then train models with this data to select tuning actions that they predict will have the most benefit. This paper discusses two engineering approaches for integrating ML agents in a DBMS. The first is to build an external tuning controller that treats the DBMS as a black box. The second is to incorporate the ML agents natively in the DBMS's architecture.

This article deals with the analysis of a coupling between stationary Maxwell’s equations, the transient state Navier-Stokes and thermal equations. The resolution of these equations is obtained by introducing the magnetic vector potential A , the vorticity ξ , the stream function ψ and the temperature T. The flux density, the electromagnetic thrust, the electric power density, the velocity, the pressure and the temperature are graphically visualized. Also, the influence of the frequency is presented.
