        치은연 하방으로 파절된 치아의 탈회냉동건조골을 이용한 Intra-alveolar transplantation

        외상으로 인하여 치아가 받는 여러 가지 손상형태 중 치관-치근파절이 나타나는 빈도는 영구치에서 5%, 유치열에서는 2%라고 알려져 왔다. 치조정 하방에 파절선이 존재하고 치수노출을 동반한 치관-치근 파절에서는 크게 두가지의 보존적인 치료방법이 있다. 첫째, 교정력에 의해 정출시키는 방법과 둘째, 치조와내에서 교합면 방향으로 재위치시키는 Intra-alveolar transplantation 등이 있다. 외과적 정출법은 1970년대에 소개된 이래로 교정적 정출법의 대안으로 많이 시행되고 있으며 높은 성공률을 가진 술식으로 여겨지고 있다. 본 증례는 외상으로 인해 상악 우측 중철치의 치수노출을 동반한 치관-치근 파절이 발생한 경우로 외과적 정출을 시행하기로 하였으나, 치근단 파절편의 길이가 짧아서 치아를 발거 후 회전시켜 재식하는 방법만으로는 파절선을 치조정 상방으로 위치시킬 수가 없었다. 따라서 치아를 발거한 후 파절편의 지지를 위해 치조와의 치근단부에 탈회냉동건조골을 이식한 후에 치근단 파절편을 노출한 후 suture splint를 시행하였다. 1년 3개월간의 관찰결과, 치조백선이 회복되고 정상적인 동요도를 보였으며, 염증성, 대체성 치근흡수 등과 같은 합병증은 발생되지 않았다. 주요어 : 외과적 정출, 탈회냉동건조골, 치관-치근 파절, 치근흡수

      • ELSEVIER : Ubiquitination-dependent CARM1 degradation facilitates Notch1-mediated podocyte apoptosis in diabetic nephropathy

        Podocyte apoptosis induced by hyperglycemia is considered a critical factor in the development of diabetic nephropathy. Recent studies have implicated Notch signaling in podocyte apoptosis; however, its regulatory mechanisms are not fully understood. In this study. we found that high-glucose treatment increased Notchl and jagged-l expression, the transcriptional activity of Hes. and podocyte apoptosis, and decreased the expression of coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 (CARMI) in rat podocytes. Transient transfection of CARMI reversed high-glucose-induced Notchl expression. the transcriptional activity of Hes, and podocyte apoptosis. Moreover. the silendng of CARMI using siRNA increased Notchl expression. the transctiptional activity of Hes, and podocyte apoptosis. However, the Glu266-mediated enzymatic activity of CARMI was not necessary for Notch signaling activation and podocyte apoptosis. Here, we demonstrate that AMP-activated protein kinase alpha (AMPKa) and cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB,R) are regulated by CARMI and that high-glucose-induced podocyte apoptosis is mediated by a CARMl-AMPKa-Notchl-CB,R signaling axis. We also show that highglucose-induced CARMI downregulation is due to ubiquitination-dependent CARMI degradation. Finally, we demonstrate that CARMI expression in podocytes was diminished in rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes compared to vehicle-treated rats. Together, our data provide evidence that ubiquitination-dependent CARMI degradation in podocytes in diabetes promotes podocyte apoptosis via Notch 1 activation. Strategies to preserve CARMI expression or reduce the enzymatic activity of a ubiquitin ligase specific for CARMI could be used to prevent podocyte loss in diabetic nephropathy. ⓒ2014 Published by Elsevier lnc.

        Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a New Pentanary Thiophosphate, K<sub>0.5</sub>Ag<sub>0.5</sub>Nb<sub>2</sub>PS<sub>10</sub>

        Single crystals of the new pentanary thiophosphate, $K_{0.5}Ag_{0.5}Nb_2PS_{10}$ has been prepared through reactions of the elements with halide fluxes. The structure of $K_{0.5}Ag_{0.5}Nb_2PS_{10}$ has been analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The structure of $K_{0.5}Ag_{0.5}Nb_2PS_{10}$ is made up of one-dimensional ${^{\infty}_1}[Nb_2PS_{10}]$ chains along the [001] direction and these chains are separated from one another by $Ag^+$ and disordered $K^+$ ions. This chain is basically built up from bicapped trigonal prismatic [Nb2S12] units and tetrahedral [PS4] groups. The [$Nb_2S_{12}$] units are connected together to form the linear chain, ${^{\infty}_1}[Nb_2S_9]$ by sharing the S-S prism edge. Short (2.885(2) $\AA$ or 2.888(2) $\AA$) and long (3.743(1) $\AA$) Nb-Nb distances are alternating along the chain, and the $S_2{^2-}]\;and\;S^{2-}$anionic species are observed. The distorted octahedral coordination around the $Ag^+$ ion can be described as [2+4] bonding interaction.

        Range Extension of Light-Duty Electric Vehicle Improving Efficiency and Power Density of IPMSM Considering Driving Cycle

        Recently, the trend of zero emissions has increased in automotive engineering because of environmental problems and regulations. Therefore, the development of battery electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid/plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs/PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) has been mainstreamed. In particular, for light-duty electric vehicles, improvement in electric motor performance is directly linked to driving range and driving performance. In this paper, using an improved design for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), the EV driving range for the light-duty EV was extended. In the electromagnetic design process, a 2D finite element method (FEM) was used. Furthermore, to consider mechanical stress, ANSYS Workbench was adopted. To conduct a vehicle simulation, the vehicle was modeled to include an electric motor model, energy storage model, and regenerative braking. From these results, using the advanced vehicle simulator (ADVISOR) based on MATLAB Simulink, a vehicle simulation was performed, and the effects of the improved design were described.

        <P>Three MOF-74-type Co(II) frameworks with one-dimensional hexagonal channels have been prepared. Co(II) spins in a chain are ferromagnetically coupled through carboxylate and phenoxide bridges. Interchairi antiferromagnetic couplings via aromatic ring pathways operate over a Co-Co length Shorter than similar to 10.9 angstrom, resulting in, a field-induced metamagnetic transition, while being absent over lengths longer than similar to 14.7 angstrom.</P>

        The Dimensionality of Reference Price and its Impact on Brand Choice

        Much research on the existence and the role of reference price in consumer behavior has appeared in the marketing literature. As a necessity, most of these research studies propose and use one or more operational measures of the concept. While most of the measures used in the literature are in line with the theories behind the formation of reference price in consumers` minds, each seem to capture only certain aspects of it. Such concern has also been raised by various researchers(c.f., Blattberg and Neslin, 1990; Kalwani et. al., 1990). This research sets out to explore the possible dimensions that may underlie the numerous measures of reference price that are reported in the literature. We first identified 11 measures of reference price that have appeared in the literature and conducted a factor analysis. The analysis uncovered at least two dimensions underlying the set of measures and the dimensions were found to be quite intuitively appealing. The first dimension comprised of measures that assume that reference price is updated each time a price is encountered by the consumer(Continuous Adjustment). The second dimension comprised of measures that assume that reference price is updated only when a `significantly` new price level is encountered by the consumer(Stepwise Adjustment). This result confirms the expectation that the various operational measures used in the literature are in fact representing only certain aspects of the reference price concept. The study then analyzed the impacts of the different reference price dimensions on consumer choice behavior using the multinomial logit choice model. The results showed that the Stepwise Adjustment dimension produced a marginally higher explanatory power than the Continuous Adjustment dimension and that the impacts of the two dimensions on brand choice were quite different.

        Totally Thoracoscopic Ablation in Patients With Recurrent Atrial Fibrillation After Catheter Ablation

        Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of totally thoracoscopic ablation (TTA) in patients with recurrent atrial fibrillation (AF) after radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA). Methods: From February 2012 to May 2020, 460 patients who underwent TTA were classified into two groups: CA (presence of RFCA history, n = 74) and nCA groups (absence of RFCA history, n = 386). Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) analyses were used to adjust for confounders. The primary endpoint was freedom from the composite of AF, typical atrial flutter, atypical atrial flutter and any atrial tachyarrhythmia, lasting more than 30 seconds during the follow-up. All patients were followed up at 3, 6, and 12 months via electrocardiogram and 24-hour Holter monitoring. Results: Bilateral pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) was conducted in all patients and the conduction block tests were confirmed. In the CA group, difficult PVI occasionally occurred due to structural changes, such as pericardial adhesion and fibrosis of the pulmonary venous structure, caused by a previous catheter ablation. Early complications such as stroke and pacemaker insertion were not different between the two groups. The normal sinus rhythm was maintained in 70.1% (317/460) patients after a median follow-up period of 38.1 months. The IPTW-weighted Kaplan-Meier curves revealed that freedom from AF events at 5 years was 68.4% (95% confidence interval, 62.8–74.5) in the nCA group and 31.2% (95% confidence interval, 16.9–57.5) in the CA group (P < 0.001). In IPTW-weighted Cox regression, preoperative left atrial diameter, persistent or long-standing AF, the presence of congestive heart failure and catheter ablation history were associated with AF events. Conclusion: Patients in the CA group showed a higher recurrence rate of AF than those in the nCA group, while TTA was safely performed in both the groups.

        Parametric study of propeller boss cap fins for container ships

        The global price of oil, which is both finite and limited in quantity, has been rising steadily because of the increasing requirements for energy in both developing and developed countries. Furthermore, regulations have been strengthened across all industries to address global warming. Many studies of hull resistance, propulsion and operation of ships have been performed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This study examined the design parameters of the propeller boss cap fin (PBCF) and hub cap for 6,000TEU container ships to improve the propulsion efficiency. The design parameters of PBCF have been selected based on the geometrical shape. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis with a propeller open water (POW) test was performed to check the validity of CFD analysis. The design of experiment (DOE) case was selected as a full factorial design, and the experiment was analyzed by POW and CFD analysis. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine the correlation among design parameters. Four design alternatives of PBCF were selected from the DOE. The shape of a propeller hub cap was selected as a divergent shape, and the divergent angle was determined by the DOE. Four design alternatives of PBCF were attached to the divergent hub cap, and the POW was estimated by CFD. As a result, the divergent hub cap with PBCF has a negative effect on the POW, which is induced by an increase in torque coefficient. A POW test and cavitation test were performed with a divergent hub cap with PBCF to verify the CFD result. The POW test result showed that the open water efficiency was increased approximately 2% with a divergent hub cap compared to a normal cap. The POW test result was similar to the CFD result, and the divergent hub cap with the PBCF models showed lower open water efficiency. This was attributed to an increase in the torque coefficient just like the CFD results. A cavitation test was performed using the 2 models selected. The test result showed that the hub vortex is increased downstream of the propeller.
