Based on the Articles Published in the Journal of Korean Forestry

2003 Journal of Forest Science Vol.19 No.-

The articles, published in the Journal of Korean Forestry from Number 1(1962) to number 6, Volume 91(2002), were surveyed and investigated for the research trend analysis about resource-plants for special use or purpose, i.e edible plants, medicinal plants, feed resource, landscape plants, fiber plants, industrial usage, and bee plants. If the purpose or subject matter of the research was construction or furniture timber production, mushrooms and/or pulp and Paper, such research was not included in this study. These articles were classified again depending on the content of research into 14 categories : habitat environment, ecology, physiology, propagation, silviculture(tending and culture), genetics and breeding, identification, insect and disease control, animal-related research, cemponent analysis, vegetation survey, biotechnology, management, and review. Among the total 1,434 articles published, 396 ones (27,6%) were related with plants for special use or purpose. Vegetation survey was 60(15.2%) ; physiology 56(04.1%) ; genetics and breeding 56(14.1%) ; propagation 53(13.4%) ; and ecology 37(9.3%). Siviculture research field included 11 articles (2.8%), which indicates that the management of resource-plants is to far from economic income as seen in the low number of management research filed articles, i. e., only 6 reports(1.5%). Korean white Pine was most popular for research and included 42 articles ; Robinia pseudoacacia 23 Castanea crenata 14 : and ginkgo tree 14, Research related with these species had focused mainly or propagation, physiotogy, genetics and breeding, ecology and pest control. Based on this survey and analysis, the followings are suggested : 1. More research is required on forest herbaceous plants. 2. Cooperative research work with other industrial and/or scientific area is recommendable for commercialization including medicine, cosmetics, and food etc. 3. Research resource-plant conservation. which includes biology, social education and policy, should be supported for next generation. 4. Mutual correspondence and information exchange about the research results between researchers and institutes is more necessary than now.

High aspect ratio microdisplay and thin optical component for glass-like AR devices

        Kang Chan-mo,Shin Jin-Wook,Choi Sukyung,Kwon Byoung-Hwa,Cho Hyunsu,Cho Nam Sung,Lee Jeong-Ik,Lee Hyunkoo,Lee Jeong Hwan,Kim Hokwon,Cho Ara,Park Sang Hyun,Kim Minseok,Park Soon-gi,Kim Youngjoon,Ha Jeon 한국정보디스플레이학회 2021 Journal of information display Vol.22 No.3

Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) microdisplays have attracted much attention as displays for small form factor augmented reality (AR) devices. To realize glass-like thin and wide field of view (FoV) AR devices, we designed a display module with a high aspect ratio microdisplay and a thin optical component. For the high aspect ratio microdisplay, we developed the color OLED microdisplay with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 0.8-inch diagonal ∼2,490-ppi CMOS backplane. To express color and reduce optical crosstalk, wefabricated the color filter (C/F) patterning directly on the white OLED. We also developed a pin mirror lens with 11 pin mirrors to improve the optical efficiency and quality with a thin lens. By combining the microdisplay with LetinAR’s pin mirror lens, we successfully demonstrated an AR device with a wide horizontal FoV of 46° but with a small form factor 4mmlens.

      • High-frequency organic rectifiers through interface engineering

Kang, Chan-mo,Shin, Hyeonwoo,Lee, Changhee Cambridge University Press (Materials Research Soc 2017 MRS Communications Vol.7 No.4

        <▼1>Abstract
</▼1><▼2>
The demand for high-frequency (HF) and low-cost rectifiers has encouraged many researchers to investigate organic rectifiers. Recently, organic rectifiers with enhanced intrinsic carrier mobility and charge injection efficiency have enabled operating frequencies to reach up to a gigahertz (GHz). The metal/organic and organic/organic interfaces have played a significant role in determining the electrical properties of the organic rectifiers. In this prospective article, we review the structure of organic rectifiers and present the current state-of-the-art to attain their HF performance. We discuss methods for improving their electrical properties using interface engineering and present future prospects for practical use of GHz-operable organic rectifiers.
</▼2>

      • High-Performance, Solution-Processed Indium-Oxide TFTs Using Rapid Flash Lamp Annealing

        Chan-mo Kang,Hoon Kim,Yeon-Wha Oh,Kyu-Ha Baek,Lee-Mi Do IEEE 2016 IEEE electron device letters Vol.37 No.5

In this letter, we discuss the temperature distribution of light-illuminated Si substrates with time and the successful fabrication of high-performance, solution-processed indium-oxide thin-film transistors within an annealing time of 2 min using a high-power flash lamp under ambient conditions. The precursor films are completely converted into oxide films within 30 s using flash lamp annealing (FLA). As a result, we obtained the high performance of indium-oxide TFTs with the mobility of impressive 38.9 cm(2)V(-1)s(-1) with the on/off ratio of similar to 10(4) for the irradiation time of 2 min and the mobility of 10.3 cm(2)V(-1)s(-1) with the on/off ratio of similar to 5x10(6) for the irradiation time of 10 s for three times, which is the highest mobility ever reported using FLA. This result will be helpful for breaking the barrier in the mass production of the next-generation semiconductors.

Organic Rectifier with Transfer-printed Metal as a Top Electrode

2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.21

We fabricated a pentacene diode with a transferred top electrode and demonstrated the pentacene rectifier. A Au top electrode was formed successfully on the MoO₃/ pentacene layer by using transfer printing. The current density of the transferred diode was 100 times lower than that of the evaporated one. The rectifier with the transferred electrode operated well at 14 MHz, and output voltage was 2.5 V when a 10-V input voltage was applied. Although the device performance of transferred diode was lower than that of the evaporated one due to poor contact and degradation of the pentacene film, further optimization of the transfer process may improve the device performance.

Vol.59 No.-

In Land by Park, Kyung-Ri, the tragic and sad story of sufferings on the migration into Gando of Seo-hee in the Vice Minister, Choi's house and people of Pyoungsa-ri was described well. These people tried to drown their sorrow in Gando where there was no one to talk to and their long-cherished desire was to return to Pyoungsa-ri, hometown. What this thesis focused on was that people of Pyoungsa-ri formed the Diaspora based on community culture and tradition in other country and endured the period of colonies. The meaning of 'Diaspora' meant the dispersed Jews and its community who left the original Palestine area and were living worldwide, and it can be interpreted as a national breakup or a national dispersion. Though the concept of the Diaspora showed a rather different scope of definition depending on each scholar, all scholars showed the common opinion of 'Dispersion' and this thesis was based on the Diaspora by Prof. Kyoung-Sik Seo who was the fine arts scholar residing in Japan. The core of Diaspora by Prof. Kyoung-Sik Seo was focused on 'dispersion forced by violence'. Gando was the place where symbolized this Diaspora typically and the root cause why the people of Pyoungsa-ri retained their own culture in the place of sufferings and could return to their hometown was explained as the horizontal human relationship for the vital principles of Confucianism. Park, Kyoung-Ri emphasized the weak responsive ability of Confucianism possessed by the learned man vertically to the reality through the village schoolmaster Kim's migration into Gando and revealed through value system of Han-Bok, Young-Pal and rustic parents of Lee Yong, Sunyoung Bongsa that Confucianism as the vital principles among the public people became the foundation for the return to hometown as for the people of Pyoungsa-ri. In addition, people of Pyungsa-ri returned to hometown from Gando but, the second generation of Gil-Sang and people of Pyoungsa-ri did not return, remained in Gando and developed the Diaspora there. Especially, Gando directivity of Lee Hong who returned to hometown with his father was the point where the strategic intention over Gando of the writer was well revealed. Gando directivity of Le Hong recognized Gando as the land of mother whereas people of Pyoungsa-ri recognized it as the strange land. The writer demonstrated well that the ultimate purpose of the Diaspora was associated with the return to the place where they left and at the same time, it showed the tough vitality of the Diaspora which took root in the strange country and was expanded through the localization of their culture.
