        Maximum Node Interconnection by a Given Sum of Euclidean Edge Lengths

        This paper proposes a solution to the problem of finding a subgraph for a given instance of many terminals on a Euclidean plane. The subgraph is a tree, whose nodes represent the chosen terminals from the problem instance, and whose edges are line segments that connect two corresponding terminals. The tree is required to have the maximum number of nodes while the length is limited and is not sufficient to interconnect all the given terminals. The problem is shown to be NP-hard, and therefore a genetic algorithm is designed as an efficient practical approach. The method is suitable to various probable applications in layout optimization in areas such as communication network construction, industrial construction, and a variety of machine and electronics design problems. The proposed heuristic can be used as a general-purpose practical solver to reduce industrial costs by determining feasible interconnections among many types of components over different types of physical planes.

        Maximum Terminal Interconnection by a Given Length using Rectilinear Edge

        This paper proposes a method to find an optimal T' with the most terminal of the subset of T' trees that can be connected by a given length by improving a memetic genetic algorithm within several constraints, when the set of terminal T is given to the Euclidean plane R<sup>2</sup>. Constraint (1) is that a given length cannot connect all terminals of T, and (2) considers only the rectilinear layout of the edge connecting each terminal. The construction of interconnections has been used in various design-related areas, from network to architecture. Among these areas, there are cases where only the rectilinear layout is considered, such as wiring paths in the computer network and VLSI design, network design, and circuit connection length estimation in standard cell deployment. Therefore, the heuristics proposed in this paper are expected to provide various cost savings in the rectilinear layout.

        소비의 관계적 지리와 윤리적 지리교육

        본 연구의 목적은 학생들의 일상적 소비의 맥락 속에서 인간-비인간, 장소에 대한 이해의 관계적 전환에 기반하여 윤리적 지리교육의 가능성을 모색해보는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 학생들이 소비하는 상품 네트워크가 탈 국지화되면서 타자에 대한 책임과 배려의 윤리가 축소되는 상황에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이어서 학생들이 소비와 윤리의 문제를 책임과 배려의 관계적 윤리라는 관점을 통하여 바라볼 수 있는 안목의 토대로서 장소와 인간-비인간의 관계적 이해라는 관점을 제시한다. 마지막으로 휴대폰 커넥션을 사례로 소비, 관계적 지리, 책임과 배려의 윤리의 관계를 살펴보았다. 윤리적 지리교육의 역할은 학생들이 자신들의 삶 속에서 부재하는 현존으로서 다양한 인간 및 비인간들과 연계감을 가지고 이들에 대하여 더 많은 책임과 배려를 제공할 수 있는 인식적, 실천적 능력을 가지도록 하는데 있다는 점을 주장한다. The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of ethical geography education, based on the ‘relational turn’ of understanding of human/non-humans and place in the context of the student’s daily consumption. To do this, rst and foremost, due to the de-localization of product networks that students consume, it has been discussed the situation that the ethics of responsibility and care is reduced. Then, this paper suggests an understanding of place and human/non-humans in a relational view, as a basis for the student’s ability to look at matters of consumption and ethics through the viewpoint of relational ethics of responsibility and care. Finally, this research examined relation of commodity consumption, relational geographies and ethics of responsibility and care through ‘mobile phone connection’. It is argued in the paper that the role of ethical geography education lies also in allowing students to feel connected to various humans/non-humans as a absent presence in his own life and to acquire cognitive and practical skills to provide more responsibility and care for their socio-ecological environment, thus making a better world.

        일본 중등 지리교육의 독도 관련 영토교육 내용 분석 - 학습지도요령 및 해설과 지리교과서를 중심으로 -

        이 연구의 목적은 일본의 중・고등학교 지리 학습지도요령 및 해설과 교과서에 나타난 일본의 독도 관련 영토 교육의 방향을 이해하는 데 있다. 중·고등학교 학습지도요령 해설은 ‘독도는 일본의 고유 영토’, ‘한국의 불법 점거’, ‘한국에 항의’, ‘독도 영유권 문제의 평화적 해결 노력’과 같은 내용들을 통해 독도 영유권에 대한 강한 의지를 드러내고 있음을 알 수 있다. 2015년, 2016년 검정을 통과한 중・고등학교 교과서에서 일본의 독도 영유권 주장과 관련한 내용을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 독도는 일본 고유의 영토이며, 한국이 독도를 불법으로 점거하고 있고, 일본은 이에 대해 한국에 지속적으로 항의를 하고 있다. 또한 일본은 이의 문제를 평화적 수단으로 해결하기 위해 국제사법재판소에 회부하였지만 한국이 응하지 않고 있다는 논리로 구성되어 있다. 이처럼 일본의 독도 영유권 관련 영토교육은 학습지도요령 및 해설 그리고 지리 교과서에서 분명하게 보여주고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to understand the direction of Japanese territorial education related to Dokdo in the middle school and high school geography curriculum guidelines, commentaries and textbooks of Japan. The curriculum guidelines and commentaries of middle and high school education show a strong commitment on the territorial sovereignty over Dokdo throughdescriptions such as “Dokdo is integral part of Japanese territory,” “illegal occupation of Korea,” “protest to Korea,” and “peaceful resolution of the Dokdo issue.” According to the middle and high school geography textbooks that passed the screening in 2015 and 2016, the logic of Japan’s claim to the territorial sovereignty over Dokdo is as follows: Japan has been attempting to refer to the International Court of Justice to resolve the Dokdo issue through peaceful means, however Korea has not responded. It can be considered that Japan’s territorial claim to Dokdo is clearly shown in its curriculum guidelines, commentaries and geography textbooks.

        2022 개정 고등학교 융합선택과목 『기후변화와 지속가능한 세계』 교육과정 개발의 쟁점과 내용

        This study focused on identifying and presenting the development process and main contents of the “Climate Change and Sustainable World” curriculum. The main contents of this curriculum are as follows. First, this curriculum consists of four themes: ‘Humans and Climate Change’, ‘Climate Justice and Regional Issues’, ‘Ecological Transformation for a Sustainable World’, and ‘Co-existence World and Ecological Citizenship’. Second, in the content system, knowledge and understanding, process and function, value and attitude content elements were presented for each topic to strengthen content understanding, process and function knowledge, value and attitude cultivation. In particular, the process and function included a series of processes such as setting up tasks, establishing solution plans, performing solutio`ns, and obtaining results, and value and attitude included perspective formation, practice, and participation. Third, two to four achievement standards were set for each subject, and knowledge, understanding, process, function, value, and attitude were balanced, such as acquiring knowledge of the subject, investigating and identifying realistic situations and problems and issues of climate change. Fourth, the guidance on the direction of teaching, learning, and evaluation of this subject guided the teaching and learning methods and evaluation directions necessary to achieve the goal of fostering ecological citizenship.

        Survey of Plant Diseases in Horticultural Crops in Cheorwon, South Korea, in 2024

        A field survey was conducted from January to October 2024 to investigate the occurrence of plant diseases caused by fungal, bacterial, and viral pathogens in major horticultural crops cultivated in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea. Eight representative crops, including paprika and tomato, were examined using specific primers for pathogenic microorganisms via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR). As a result, five fungal pathogens were detected: Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium oxysporum, Phytophthora capsici, P. infestans, and Pythium ultimum. Among them, P. ultimum and P. infestans were predominant, each accounting for 40% of the total fungal detections, jointly representing 80.00% of all fungal cases. Three bacterial pathogens were identified: Clavibacter michiganensis, Pectobacterium carotovorum, and Ralstonia solanacearum, with R. solanacearum showing the highest incidence (75%). Seven viral pathogens were also detected, including broad bean wilt virus 2, cucumber green mottle mosaic virus, cucumber mosaic virus, pepper mottle virus, pepper mild mottle virus, tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), and watermelon mosaic virus, with TSWV being the most prevalent (64.86%). Spatial analysis showed that R. solanacearum and TSWV were found across all six surveyed regions of Cheorwon-gun, indicating widespread distribution. Seasonal patterns revealed that fungal diseases were most prevalent in May, bacterial diseases peaked during July and August, and viral infections were primarily detected between May and July. These findings provide baseline data for the development of effective disease monitoring and management strategies in horticultural crop production in Cheorwon-gun.

        2023 파프리카 종자의 Fusarium oxysporum 오염에 의한 철원지역 파프리카 모잘록병 대발생

        In 2023, symptoms like damping-off disease were observed in 74 paprika growing in greenhouses in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea. In this study, we tried to find the cause of the damping-off disease outbreak. We collected symptomatic seedlings and observed the typical crescent-shaped conidia of Fusarium oxysporum by microscope. To confirm the presence of F. oxysporum in the samples, polymerase chain reaction was performed using primers specific for F. oxysporum; the resulting sequence showed 99.11% identity with F. oxysporum. To confirm the pathogenicity of the F. oxysporum (CW) isolated from the samples, healthy paprika plants were inoculated with F. oxysporum CW and damping-off symptoms were observed 2 weeks later. To investigate whether the damping-off disease outbreak in Cheorwon-gun was caused by F. oxysporum-contaminated seeds, 100 paprika seeds were disinfected and placed in Murashige and Skoog medium. Typical pink F. oxysporum hyphae were found only in control non-disinfected seeds. An 18S rRNA-based and a TEF genebased phylogenetic analysis showed that the F. oxysporum CW isolate was not grouped with a F. oxysporum isolate reported from Cheorwon-gun in 2019. This study is the first report that an outbreak of damping-off disease in paprika in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, Korea, was caused by contamination of F. oxysporum seeds.

        인터넷의 확산과 무선 통신의 발달로 인해 이동 컴퓨팅과 정보가전의 인공지능이 급속 하게 발전하고 있다. 이에 따라 무선 인터넷으로 데이터를 처리하고 검색하는 서비스에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으며, 정보가전의 데이터 관리 능력이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특징들을 지원하기 위한 경량 데이터베이스 관리 시스템의 기능 및 최신 연구 주제를 요약하고자 한다. The mobile computing and the artificial intelligence of information appliance have developed rapidly through the diffusion of internet and development of wireless communication. Hence, the demand of data processing and information retrieval services using wireless internet is increasing, and the data management ability of information appliance is required. In this paper, we study and summary the features and the state-of-art on the small database management system for supporting these features.
