The Role of the Holy Spirit in Christian Schools
Bondy John Kenneth 한국기독교교육정보학회 2011 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.19
The purpose of Christian Schools in the 21st century faces the challenges keeping the Holy Spirit central in education. The question must be posed where Christian education might be straying from the balance of orthodoxy. Christian schools speak of the role of the Holy Spirit in education. What is the role of the Holy Spirit and how is it propagated in Christian schools? Christian journaling can be an effective media for providing a place for the Holy Spirit to work in education. Holistic Christian education needs three elements that involve a balance of learning, moral, and spiritual. The challenge of 21st century Christian education is to provide an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit in education and teach the role of the Holy Spirit in life. A cursory survey of a Christian university indicates students are not knowledgeable of the role of the Holy Spirit in education.
The Responsibilities of the Board in Quality Christian Education
Linda Bondy 한국기독교교육정보학회 2011 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.19
The board's visionary and authoritative roles in developing a quality Christian school will be discussed by looking at the major roles of a board member. From the discussion on the characteristics of a board of a successful Christian school, six reasons should compel Korean Christian schools to work on accreditation from an agency that is independent of the individual educational institution. They are the need for a good public image, a reflective mirror, recognition of cultic thought, resources, support, and a reflective analysis. In summary, it is important for Christian schools to seek accreditation from an agency outside of their local church or denomination to allow for quality and excellence in their schools.

International Students’ Challenges
John Bondy 한국기독교교육정보학회 2012 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.22
Christian education faces new challenges in the 21 st century which includes people studying abroad as international students in multicultural environments. Using Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, this study researched the concerns and emotional essentials of international students on a multicultural campus. International students in a multicultural seminary were surveyed with the goal of learning emotional needs. A few actual incidents were also included where confidentiality could be protected. It is written from a biblical perspective of treating foreigners with the Christlike concept of the Golden Rule and to acknowledge the anxiety of culture shock. This study explored the needs of international students and ponders the angst they suffer which provides valuable insights for international students, host students, leadership of international universities, seminaries and institutions. It provides optimism for the rapprochement of unity in diversity.
The Critical Importance of Curriculum That Transmits Denominational Core Values
John Bondy 한국기독교교육정보학회 2007 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.11
Curriculum has always been the core structure of Christian education. This paper argues that denominational curriculum has not always been consistent with its commitment to denominational core values or doctrinal tenants. These inconsistencies can be found in children’s denominational curriculum. Denominational doctrines or core values are null, if they are not contained in the children’s curriculum. If denominationally produced children’s curriculum does not contain the core values of a particular denomination, then that church, as it is known, is at risk. This article reiterates the importance of curriculum in Christian education. Specifically, it emphasizes that denominationally produced children’s curriculum must integrate the core values within each church regardless of children’s age.
Educational Methods of Susanna Wesley: Implications for Christian Education
John Bondy 한국기독교교육정보학회 2004 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.6
This paper explores Susanna Wesley's Christian educational methods. Susanna has earned the title as one of the greatest mothers in church history. The fruits of her pedagogical methods were reflected in her children, especially John and Charles Wesley. This work explains the educational principles she used with implications for Christian education. As a Godly mother she was deeply concerned about shaping the character of all of her children in preparation for eternity. A well educated woman, she believed in a daily schedule that included reading the Bible in a home of peace and respect. Mrs. Wesley advocated that it was crucial for the sinful will of children to be shaped very early in order to prepare them to fulfill God's purposes in their lives. Mrs. Wesley's eight educational bylaws are quoted with discussion given to the importance of early childhood education taking place in the home on mother's knee. A table is provided as a summary for possible application to Christian education. Five educational implications evident from Susanna Wesley's methods are given Christian education will benefit from the valuable contributions of Susanna Wesley.
When a Virus is not a Parasite: The Beneficial Effects of Prophages on Bacterial Fitness
Joseph Bondy-Denomy,Alan R. Davidson 한국미생물학회 2014 The journal of microbiology Vol.52 No.3
Most organisms on the planet have viruses that infect them. Viral infection may lead to cell death, or to a symbiotic relationshipwhere the genomes of both virus and host replicatetogether. In the symbiotic state, both virus and cell potentiallyexperience increased fitness as a result of the other. The viruses that infect bacteria, called bacteriophages (orphages), well exemplify the symbiotic relationships that candevelop between viruses and their host. In this review, wewill discuss the many ways that prophages, which are phagegenomes integrated into the genomes of their hosts, influencebacterial behavior and virulence.
Christian Journaling and Christian Education
John Bondy 한국기독교교육정보학회 2008 Journal of Christian education information tech Vol.0 No.13
Historically, Christian journaling was integral to Christian formation. As a discipline in the 21st century Christian education has almost vanished. The reasons that Christian journaling has fallen into virtual extinction are listed and briefly explored. While Christian educators continually seek efficient methods to facilitate learning, Christian journaling can be one component that facilitates growth. Christian journaling is defined as opposed to secular journaling. The difference between a diary and Christian journaling are explained. Christian journaling is a key element in the affective domain or orthopathos bringing God's creative love to the inner life and the heart to a deeper spiritual growth beyond the outward or intellect.
