The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with sanitation and cleanliness regarding the importance of family restaurant employees in the Ulsan and Basin areas. Accordingly, this study conducted a survey questionnaire consisting of 28 measures of food-service as well as major subject descriptors. From the results, the frequency, descriptive, factor, correspondence analysis, major findings and marketing implications could be summarized as follows: First, 6 factors were extracted: cooking and control factor, food and tableware handling factor, personal cleanliness condition factor, purchase and receiving factor, unit food material store factor and Kitchen utensil sanitation factor. KMO and Bartlett'stest statistics showed that the data fitted the factor analysis well. Results of factor analysis, average variance extracted estimates and shared variance showed that the convergent and discriminant validity of 6 factors are supported and Cronhach's alpha showed that the internal consistency of the 6 factors was supported. Second, correspondence analysis indicated that statistically significant relationships existed between some of the family restaurant employee sanitation and cleanliness factors and the family restaurant enterprise.

A mailed survey with structured questionnaire was conducted to study the demand of private physicians who were operating their own clinics in the community to be a attending physician at the general hospital. The responding proportion was 21.6 percent of the 960 private physicians. A total of 207 responders : 65.2 percent wanted to be a attending physician. In particular, the physicians who were male, young, surgeon and teaching hospital careered after specialist were more highly motivated. The major activities what they wanted as a attending physician were medical care for the admission patients. They responded that the hospital charges for the medical services and the responsibility of malpractice issues should be fairly shared by attending physician and hospital according to their contributions. There is growing consensus that the need of attending physician at the general hospital will become wide spread, but little organizational preparation to assure the quality of medical care of attending physicians including training of resident physicians and students. In addition, the effective reimbursement system should be develop to compensate appropriately according to the medical achievement of the attending physicians.

<P><I>Introduction</I>. Although combination therapy with herbal medicine and probiotics is gaining popularity for controlling diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS) symptoms, few studies have investigated its clinical effects. <I>Materials and Methods</I>. Fifty-three patients with D-IBS were randomly allocated into 1 of the following 4 groups: herbal medicine (<I>Gwakhyangjeonggisan</I>; GJS) plus probiotics (Duolac7S; DUO), GJS plus placebo DUO, placebo GJS plus DUO, and placebo GJS plus placebo DUO. The study period consisted of a 2-week run-in, 8 weeks of administration, and 2 weeks of follow-up. The primary outcomes were weekly adequate relief (AR) of overall IBS symptoms and the proportion of responders (PR) during the administration period. The secondary outcomes included individual IBS symptoms, stool assessment, and quality of life. Changes of intestinal microbiota and intestinal permeability were also analyzed. <I>Results and Discussion</I>. Weekly AR was not different among the 4 groups throughout the treatment period. However, the 3 treatment groups exhibited significant improvements in PR compared to the findings in the placebo group. In the intestinal microbiota assessment, herbal medicine and probiotics synergistically increased beneficial bacteria counts. <I>Conclusion</I>. Combination therapy with herbal medicine and probiotics appears to relieve overall IBS symptoms by synergistically increasing beneficial intestinal microbe counts.</P>

Background: Shift work increases the risk of chronic diseases, including metabolic diseases. However, studies on the relationship between shift work and renal function are limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between shift work and a decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Methods: Data were evaluated for 1,324,930 workers who visited the Korean Medical Institute from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020 and underwent a health checkup. Daytime workers were randomly extracted at a ratio of 1:4 after matching for age and sex. In total, 18,190 workers aged over 40 years were included in the analyses; these included 3,638 shift workers and 14,552 daytime workers. Participants were categorized into the shift work group when they underwent a specific health checkup for night shift work or indicated that they were shift workers in the questionnaire. The odds ratio was calculated using a conditional logistic regression to investigate the relevance of shift work for changes in GFR. Results: 35 workers in the shift group and 54 in the daytime group exhibited an estimated GFR (eGFR) value of < 60 mL/min/1.73m2 (p < 0.01). The difference in eGFR values between two checkups differed significantly depending on the type of work (p < 0.01); the difference in the shift work group (−9.64 mL/min/1.73 m2 ) was larger than that in the daytime work group (−7.45 mL/min/1.73 m2 ). The odds ratio for eGFR reduction to < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 in the shift group versus the daytime group was 4.07 (95% confidence interval: 2.54–6.52), which was statistically significant. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that eGFR decreases by a significantly larger value in shift workers than in daytime workers; thus, shift work could be a contributing factor for chronic kidney disease (CKD). Further prospective studies are necessary to validate this finding and identify measures to prevent CKD in shift workers.

본 연구는 자기주도적인 조리실습 수행을 위해 개발된 교수학습자료를 바탕으로 조리전공 15주차 수업에 적용하여 그 효과를 알아보기 위한 실행연구이다. 사전 설계된 4단계 학습활동 과 학습내용에 맞추어 개발된 교수학습자료를 조리실습에 적용하여 실제적인 학습효과를 알아 보고자 하였다. 교수학습자료의 수업 적용을 위해 고려한 사항은 첫째, 주차별 수업목표와 동일한 맥락으로 구성하여 학습자의 기술향상에 도움이 될 수 있도록 구성하였다. 둘째, 학습자는 새로운 학습 을 기존에 알고 있는 내용과 통합하여 지식을 스스로 구성할 수 있도록 하였다. 셋째, 교수학 습자료는 단계별 학습을 통해 스스로 작성할 수 있어야 하는 자기주도적인 활동으로 연계될 수 있도록 하였다. 넷째, 팀 활동학습을 통해 문제해결을 하고 학습 내용이 향상될 수 있도록 수업설계를 하였다. 교수학습자료를 활용한 학습과정은 철저한 수업설계를 통해 이루어져야 하며 자기성찰과정이 내포된 활동과 피드백으로 적극적인 학습활동 수행되도록 하였다. 자기주도적인 학습활동을 위한 교수학습자료를 통한 수업활동은 학습활동의 변화와 긍정적 인 효과를 가져왔으며 총체적으로 기대이상의 의미를 갖는다. 앞으로 다양한 교육분야에서 교 수학습자료에 대한 개발과 연구들이 지속되기를 기대한다. Thanks to shift of paradigm from teachers to learners, there is a need for leanrer-oriented classes where leaners themselves construct knowledge and participate.This study aims to propose the concrete self-directed class model by applying teaching and learning materials developed for such self-directed learning to the 15-week culinary class. For self-directed participation of learners throughout the class activity, teaching and learning materials have been categorized into 4 steps depending on learning goals for each week so that maximum learning efficiency can be ensured.Considerations for applying teaching and learning materials to classes include: 1) The materials shall be consistent with the class goals so that the results can be completed in self-directed ways. 2) Learners shall be able to construct knowledge by combining their existing knowledge with new learning. 3) For designing of teaching and learning materials, the materials shall be linked with class activities with enough learning. 4) Classes shall be designed so that issues can be resolved through cooperative linked with team activities and that content of the materials can be improved. There are few researches or literatures with cases where teaching and learning materials have been applied according to the schedule of 15-week course designed for implementing self-directed learning. For developmental culinary classes, further in-depth research is required for systematic teaching and learning method.
