Adaptive Writeback-aware Cache Management Policy for Lifetime Extension of Non-volatile Memory

In this paper, we propose Adaptive Writeback-aware Cache management (AWC) to prolong the lifetime of non-volatile main memory systems by reducing the number of writebacks. The last-level cache in AWC is partitioned into Least Recently Used (LRU) segment and LRU using Dirty block Precedence (DP-LRU) segment. The DP-LRU segment evicts clean blocks first for giving reuse opportunity to dirty blocks. AWC can also determine the efficient size of DP-LRU segment for reducing the number of writebacks according to memory access patterns of programs. In the performance evaluation, we showed that AWC reduced the number of writebacks up to 29% and 46%, and saved the energy of a main memory system up to 23% and 49% in a single-core and multi-core, respectively. AWC also reduced the runtime by 1.5% and 3.2% on average compared to previous cache managements for non-volatile main memory systems, in a single-core and a multi-core, respectively.

Speed management is not necessarily about reducing speed, but to a considerable extent about planning and designing the road layout and the road network in such a way that an appropriate speed is obtained. The main objective of this report was to develop recommendations for speed management strategies in our country. Safety researches related to speed was reviewed on the basis of literature studies. Also, spot speed characteristics by several road type was analyzed and speed management methods in several country are described briefly. Outlines of speed management in our country are on eliminating over speeding drivers, reducing average running speed and standard deviation, and mitigating the stop and go conditions. For this, five main strategies are recommended, that is, speed management plan for road user, consistent speed management by road types, acceptance of various traffic calming techniques, improvement driver’s awareness for speeding, and advancement of enforcement techniques. For more refined strategies, comprehensive road safety research related to speed is to be need, including speed-safety relationships, factors affecting drivers’choice of speed and development of and engineering and enforcement measures to manage speed. And an inter-agency speed management team to work on this safety issue to be review, like USA and Canada.
소규모 그룹에서의 음성 통신을 위한 TDMA 기반의 릴레이 프로토콜

근거리 무선 통신은 전송 거리에 제약이 있어 마스터 주변의 노드만이 통신이 가능하다. 기존의 블루투스와 지그비와 같은 통신은 ad hoc을 위한 기술을 제공함에도 불구하고 실시간 대화를 위한 멀티 홉 전송에는 적절하지 못하다. 본 논문은 TDMA을 이용하여 소규모의 여러 사용자들이 서로 대화할 수 있는 릴레이 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 릴레이 프로토콜은 TDMA를 이용하여 실시간으로 데이터 또는 음성의 다중 홉 재전송이 가능하다. 제안하는 프로토콜은 라우팅 경로에 따라 주파수를 달리하여 패킷을 전송하는 방법으로 이동에 따른 채널 효율의 감소를 줄여 네트워크의 성능을 높이고 있다. NS-2 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안한 프로토콜이 실시간 음성 전달에서 전송 지연과 패킷 손실률에 있어 우수한 성능을 가지고 있음을 보인다. Since the wireless communications have a limited transmission, the devices just around a master node can exchange data. Though Bluetooth and Zigbee support ad hoc, they are not appropriate for real-time voice communications. In this paper, we present a TDMA-based relay protocol for several users to communicate simultaneously. The proposed protocol can relay data or voice to other nodes in real-time by the multi-hop transmission method using TDMA. And the proposed protocol improves the network performance by allocating different frequencies to the slaves depending on the routing path scheduled by the routing table. NS-2 simulation shows that the performance of the proposed protocol is good in terms of the transmission delay and pecket loss probability in the real-time voice transmission.

After the failure of the WTO talks in Seattle, the European Union and the United States are likely to become increasingly protective, making it important to bolster competitiveness in all sectors in order to survive globalization. Korea will have to prepare for the changes in the international economic environment. New trade issues - Environment, Labor, Investment, Competitive Policy, E-Commerce...- stand out in bold relief. Like our country that depend on exports for their economic growth, this nation has not given up hope on the need for the liberalizing international trade rules. Surely, some hypothetical case studies must be designed as preparatory training for bankers, major corporations government officials. Sectors with low competitiveness must try to find ways to boost it. Trade friction in the auto, steel, pharmaceutical and ship building industries can be reduced by softening domestic regulations. Challenges lie ahead for Korea in New Round. The primary objective this study is to provide the basis of environmental quality management policies by reviewing previous studies on ISO 14000 and its case studies.
