The purposes of this study were to manufacture sirofil yarn using tencel roving and low melting polyester filaments and to analyze the physical properties of sirofil yarns with yarn count, in order to develop composite yarn for high glossy and luxury textile fabrics. The surface morphology of sirofil yarn was observed with the SEM. Tensile and bending properties of sirofil yarn were examined with the yarn count. The tensile fracture of sirofil yarn was shown with a two-step process. Firstly, tencel yarn having low elongation was broken and then the low melting polyester filaments were fractured with very high elongation. Bending properties of sirofil yarn were measured with the KES-FB. The bending rigidity of sirofil yarn was between that of tencel spun yarn and that of low melting polyester. Also, the surface property of sirofil yarn was evaluated in terms of the hairiness coefficient. It was shown that stress, strain, bending rigidity, bending hysteresis and surface hairiness coefficient of sirofil yarn decreased as yarn count increased.

Blended yarns comprising CDP and Tencel (TA) were produced for fabrics with improved color intensity. Their tensile force and extension and bending properties were investigated to evaluate their ease of handling during use. Their surface properties were also assessed by SEM and evaluating hairiness. Tensile force and extension decreased with increasing TA content due to slippage between CDP and TA. Bending strength was directly proportional to TA content.

In this work, the annealing characteristics of chemically recycled cation dyeable poly(ethylene terephthalate) (CD PET) fibers were investigated and compared with those of regular CD PET. Recycled CD PET was polymerized using chemically recycled monomers of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), which is chemically recycled from final products such as bottles and fibers. Mechanical properties and structural changes were studied for different annealing temperatures and times. The tensile properties and structural changes of recycled CD PET show similar behavior to those of regular CD PET. The crystal structure of chemically recycled CD PET developed well with increasing annealing temperature and time. At annealing temperature of $180^{\circ}C$, thermal shrinkage decreases to below 2% even after 10 min of annealing.
