        제7차 과학과 교육과정에서 물질 개념에 대한 고찰

        The purpose of this study was to examine the 7th national science curriculum (chemistry domain) regarding the meanings of ‘mulgil' (Korean), the particulate nature of matter, and the state of matter. It was found that the term of ‘mulgil' was being used vaguely as representing material, matter, or substance without clear definition. This was problematic by reason that it could hinder students from having the concept of substance. Regarding the particulate nature of matter, molecule was introduced as a basic unit of matter at grade 7, prior to atom and ion, which were introduced at grade 9 and 10, respectively. It is necessary to reconsider the sequence of each particle concept to provide students with more consistent and comprehensive understanding of structure of matter. In the case of change of state, key concepts such as conservation of matter or reversibility were omitted in the curriculum document, and explanations based on various aspects of particles were somewhat insufficient. The concept of matter is fundamental to chemistry, and we must recognize it as a concept that needs to be taught clearly. Implications for curriculum revision were discussed.

        대학 과학 학습에 영향을 주는 요인에 대한 대학생과 고등학교 과학교사의 인식

        This study examined factors influencing college science learning from the perspectives of college students and high school science teachers. Using a survey created based on focus group interviews, college science majors and high school science teachers rated various factors of high school learning that positively influenced college science learning. Findings suggested that the perceptions differed by college major: the physics major students considered math proficiency and logical thinking skills as the important factors; chemistry major students and biology major students considered English proficiency and basic scientific knowledge as the most important factors. Both college students and science teachers emphasized basic science knowledge and math proficiency. However, differences between the two groups were also found in that the students perceived more need to learn about experimentation than the teachers whereas the teachers had a priority in increasing advanced science content.

        고등학교 화학 Ⅰ교과서의 STS 교육 내용 및 구성 방식 개선 방안

        The purpose of this study was to examine for high school chemistry I textbooks published by the 6th curriculum and some foreign STS programs such as Chemistry in the Community, Science and Technology in Society, Chemistry: The Salter's Approach by analyzing STS contents, students' activity, overall structure of the books and space devoted to STS, and to provide improvement schemes for developing high school chemistry I textbooks to be developed by the 7th curriculum in future. It was found that STS topics in the high school chemistry I textbooks were related only to 'social problems and issues', 'applications of science', 'multiple dimensions of science', and STS contents were presented mostly by narration. Students' activities were limited to discussion and survey, and none of the topics were related to 'career awareness', and 'cooperative work on real problems' in high school chemistry I textbooks. On the contrary, a variety of STS topics and activities such as case study related to local and community, practicing decision-making strategies, role play, practical work career awareness were included in foreign STS programs. Desirable directions for the improvement of STS contents and structure of present high school chemistry I textbooks were proposed in this paper.

        광염색체이상시험의 광발암성 예측능력에 대한 평가

        Photo-mutagenic compounds have been known to alter skin cancer rates by acting as initiators or by affecting subsequent steps in carcinogenesis. The objectives of this study are to investigate the utility of photo-chromosomal aberration (photo-CA) assay for detecting photo-clastogens, and to evaluate its ability to predict rodent photocarcinogenicity. Photo-CA assay was performed with five test substances that demonstrated positive results in photo-carcinogenicity tests: 8-Methoxypsoralen (photoactive substance that forms DNA adducts in the presence of ultraviolet A irradiation), chlorpromazine (an aliphatic phenothiazine an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent), lomefloxacin (an antibiotic in a class of drugs called fluoroquinolones), anthracene (a tricyclic aromatic hydrocarbon a basic substance for production of anthraquinone, dyes, pigments, insecticides, wood preservatives and coating materials) and Retinoic acid (a retinoid compound closely related to vitamin A). For the best discrimination between the test substance-mediated genotoxicity and the undesirable genotoxicity caused by direct DNA absorption, a UV dose-response of the cells in the absence of the test substances was firstly analyzed. All 5 test substances showed a positive outcome in photo-CA assay, indicating that the photo-CA test is very sensitive to the photo-genotoxic effect of UV irradiation. With this limited data-set, an investigation into the predictive value of this photo-CA test for determining the photo-carcinogenicity showed that photo-CA assay has the high ability of a test to predict carcinogenicity. Therefore, the photo-CA test using mammalian cells seems to be a sensitive method to evaluate the photo-carcinogenic potential of new compounds.

        대학생의 생활양식, 스트레스 및 삶의 만족도가 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 : 작업치료학과 대학생을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects for lifestyle, stress and life satisfaction on sleep quality in university students. The participants were 46 university students attending the department of occupational therapy. Participants responded to responses to the lifestyle questionnaire and Morning and Evening Questionnaire-Korean version(MEQ-K). The levels of stress and life satisfaction reported by participants were obtained using the Korean version of Perceive Stress Test-4(K-PSS-4) and Korean version of Satisfaction With Life Scale(K-SWLS). The quality of sleep was assessed using Korean Modified Leeds Evaluation Questionnaire(KMLSEQ). An independent t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to investigate factors related to quality of sleep. The analysis of correlations between health status, morning type of chronotype, and life satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation between quality of sleep. As a result of analyzing the quality of sleep according to the chronotype, the main family house and dormitory group showed higher sleep quality than the boarding group. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the chronotype predicts quality of sleep. This study could provide information to improve the quality of sleep for university students by identify factors affecting sleep for university students in occupational therapy.

        우리나라의 중점녹색기술수준 조사・분석 및 시사점

        우리나라 정부는 ‘저탄소 녹색성장’을 새로운 국가발전 패러다임으로 제시한 이래로 ‘녹색기술 연구개발 종합대책(’09.1)’을 통해 27대 중점 녹색기술을 도출하는 등 녹색성장의 중심으로 녹색기술 개발전략을 수립?추진해 왔다. 본 연구에서는 대규모 녹색기술 전문가 집단이 참여하여 델파이 조사 기법을 활용한 27대 중점 녹색기술 내 총 131개의 전략제품?서비스 기술을 대상으로 기술수준 조사를 실시하였다. 2011년 기준으로 중점 녹색기술 전체에 대한 주요 5개국의 기술수준은 세계최고기술보유국(미국) 대비 EU(99.4%), 일본(95.3%), 한국(77.7%), 중국(67.1%) 순이며, 한국은 5개국 중 4위를 차지하였다. 세계최고기술보유국(미국)과 한국과의 기술격차년수는 4.1년으로 EU(3.9년), 일본(3.1년)에는 뒤져 있는 반면, 중국에는 2.1년 앞선 것으로 조사되었다. 우리나라의 기술수준이 가장 높은 중점 녹색기술은 ‘개량형 경수로 설계 및 건설기술(90.1%)’이며, 이어서 ‘실리콘계 태양전지의 고효율 저가화 기술 (85.0%)’, ‘고효율 저공해 차량기술(84.5%)’ 순으로 나타났다. 중점 녹색기술의 투자유형에 따른 기술수준은 단기(85.0%), 중기(77.3%), 장기(71.1%) 집중형 순이며, 기술수준이 낮을수록 중장기적인 투자를 요하는 것으로 나타나 전반적인 투자유형 설정은 적절한 것으로 조사되었다. Korea government has established and pursued green technology development strategy as the core of green growth, for example, withdrawal of 27 key green technologies through ‘green technology research and development comprehensive plan (’09.1)’ since ‘low carbon green growth’ was proposed as a new national development paradigm. In this study, we performed the Delphi survey of technology levels of 131 strategic product and service technologies derived from 27 key green technologies, utilizing large-scale group of green technology experts. The survey of technology level among main five nations resulted in the world’s leading nation (US) versus EU (99.4%), Japan (95.3%), Korea (77.7%), China (67.1%) and Korea was ranked fourth. The technology gap between the world’s leading nation (US) and Korea is 4.1 years behind EU (3.9 years) and Japan(3.1 years), but 2.1 years earlier than China. For our nation, key green technologies with high technology level are ‘improved light water reactor (90.1%)’, ‘silicon-based solar cell (85.0%)’, ‘high-efficiency low-emission car (84.5%)’ in order. Depending on the investment type of key green technologies, technology level is represented as short-term (85.0%), mid-term (77.3%) and long-term (71.1%) in order, indicating that lower technology level requires midto long-term investment and that the investment type is set appropriate.

        대학수학능력시험 화학 2 문항에 대한 학생들의 응답 분석

        In this study, the students` responses on the items of chemistry Ⅱ in the College Scholastics Ability Test (CAST) implemented for the past 3 years since 1999 was investigated. The number of applicants and mean score of chemistry Ⅱ, average percent correct by contents and inquiry process, and the items with high and/or low percent correct are analysed and discussed. The percentage of applicants for natural science track is reduced each year. However, more than 25% of natural science track applied to chemistry Ⅱ, which ranked second to biology Ⅱ. The mean score of chemistry Ⅱ was increased in 2001 along with those of other subjects. There is no difference in average percent correct either by contents or inquiry process. Students performed generally poor at solving test items relating to `colligative properties of solution` such as `boiling point elevation` or `osmotic pressure`, and very well at solving test items relating to `reaction rates`, Educational implications are discussed.
