Recently, we can find news about toxic and combustible gas accident. So, we have to develop gas detector that can measure gas at non-dangerous area and be possible to monitor gas detection at real time. In this paper, we analyze and estimate a gas sensor module and combustible gas detector that is already developed, by using standard gas sample manufactured Korea Gas Safety. We apply result analyzed data from experience for developing next generation combustible gas detector.

본 글은 소규모이고 비용이 저렴하며 친환경적이고 인간의 얼굴을 하고 있는 적정기술에 대하여 교육을 실시하기 위한 프로그램 개발을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 중고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 적정기술 체험 및평가활동을 개발하여 기술평가카드를 가지고 각각의 선정된 적정기술의 특성을 이해하고 평가하도록 하였다. 그 결과 참가한 학생들이 적정기술의 과학적 이론, 공학적 지식, 사용방법 등에 많은 관심을 가지고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었 다. 또한 적정기술평가카드를 활용한 적정기술 제품들을 평가한 결과 전반적으로 필요성, 편리성, 그리고 친환경성 측면이 우수한 반면 수리용이성 측면에서 개선이 필요하다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며 이로부터 본 활동이 적정기술에 대한 이해와 평가에도 유용하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나, 금번 적정기술 체험 및 평가활동은 향후 더욱 다양한 적정기술 제품을 소개하고 교육효과와 관련하여 활동 후 심층 설문을 실시해야 할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 금번 적정기술 교육프로그램은 적정기술의 이론적 측면과 해외사례에 편중된 측면이 있으므로 향후에는 적정기술에 대한 개념적 지식과 실제 응용 및 실습을 균형 있게 진행되는 것이 필요하다고 하겠다. This paper aims to develop an education programme for appropriate technology which is a small scale, affordable, environmentally friendly, and human-faced one. To this end, an activity for experience and evaluation of appropriate technology has been developed together with a technology evaluation card and then applied in an education programme for appropriate technology with middle and high school students, in order to ensure that the activity can sufficiently help them understand and evaluate the characteristics of each appropriate technology. Consequently, it has been noted that participating students have strong interest in scientific theory, engineering knowledge, and usage of appropriate technologies. In addition, it was further notable that the application of the technology evaluation card concluded that the selected appropriate technologies satisfied the requirements of necessity, convenience, and environmental friendliness, but needed to be improved in terms of local repair such that the activity would be useful in assisting students to understand and evaluate appropriate technologies. The activity, however, needs to be further improved by including more various appropriate technologies and implementing follow-up in-depth surveys on its effects. Finally, it has been noted that existing education programmes on appropriate technology is likely to be biased towards theoretical aspects and overseas examples of appropriate technologies. It has been thus recommended based on the case study that a future education programme on appropriate technology should keep in balance between delivery of conceptual knowledge on appropriate technologies, and their actual application and practices.
