Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability of 3D-inertia measurement unit (IMU) based shoes in gait analysis· This was donewith respect to the results of the optical motion capturing system and to collect reference gait data of healthy subjects with this device· Methods : The Smart Balance® system of 3D-IMU based shoes and Osprey® motion capturing cameras were used to collect motion data simultaneously· Forty four healthy subjects consisting of individuals in 20s (N=20), 40s (N=13), and 60s (N=11) participated in this study voluntarily· They performednatural walking on a treadmill for one minute at 4 different target speeds (3, 4, 5, 6 km/h), respectively· Results : Cadence (ICC=·998), step length (ICC=·970), stance phase (ICC=·845), and double-support phase (ICC=·684) from 3D-IMU based shoes werein agreement with results of optical motion system· Gait data of healthy subjects according to different treadmill speeds and ages were matched toprevious literature showing increased cadence and reduced step length for elderly subjects· Conclusion : Conclusively, 3D-IMU based shoes in gait analysis were a satisfactory alternative option in measuring linear gait parameters·
드롭 랜딩에서 발끝자세가 무릎관절 운동역학에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the toe headings on the biomechanics of knee joint in drop landing in an attempt to find the potential risk of non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Seventeen male college students (20.5±1.1 yrs; 175.2±6.4 cm; 68.8±5.8 kg), having no neuromuscular injury within an year, participated in this study. Three different toe headings such as toe-in (TI), neutral (N), and toe-out (TO) positions were tested. Motion capturing system consisting of eight high speed cameras and two force platforms were used to collect three-dimensional motion data and ground reaction force data during landing. Results indicated joint angles and peak joint moments were significantly affected by the toe headings. TI position produced larger valgus angle due to reduce knee distance in addition to higher flexion and valgus moment than other positions, which was somewhat vulnerable to the potential risk of non-contact ACL injury. TO position caused the largest internal rotation angle with smaller joint moments. Therefore, it is recommended that athletes need to land on the ground with neutral toe-heading position as possible in order to minimize the potential risk of non-contact ACL injury.
턱걸이 운동의 갈고리형 스트랩 사용이 근활성치에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 턱걸이 운동 시 스트랩 사용이 상체와 팔근육 활성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 실시하였다. 연구대상자는 최근 1년간 근골격에 이상이 없고 턱걸이를 10회 이상 할 수 있는 30명의 C대학 체육교육학과 대학생 5명 이었다. 맨손 턱걸이와 스트랩을 사용한 턱걸이를 각각 실시하게 하였으며, 무선 근전도 장비를 사용하여 상체와 팔근육의 근전도 데이터를 비교하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 두 조건사이에 턱걸이에 걸린 운동 시간은 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 최대 근활성치와 적분근전도 값은 맨손 턱걸이 운동과 스트랩 턱걸이 운동 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 동작시간 1% 단위로 시계열에 따른 근활성치 비교 결과 광배근, 전면삼각근, 상완이두근, 상승모근, 중승모근, 하승모근의 동작 구간 별 근활성치는 스트랩을 착용한 턱걸이가 맨손 턱걸이보다 일부 구간에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다(p<.05). 한편 대흉근, 후면삼각근의 근활성치는 스트랩을 착용한 턱걸이 동작이 맨손 턱걸이 동작보다 통계적으로 유의하게 일부 구간에서 낮았다(p<.05). 이상의 결과를 종합하면 스트랩 착용은 전완근의 근활성치를 줄여주며 이에 대한 보상으로 등근육들의 근활성치를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. This study was purposed to investigate the effect of strap usage on the activities of upper body and arm muscles during chin-up exercise. Subjects were thirty college students in the Department of Physical Education who have had no musculoskeletal diseases in last one year and can do chin-ups more than 10 times. They performed two different sets of chin-up such as bare hands and strapped hands, respectively, and the electromyography (EMG) data of the upper body and arm muscles were collected by a wireless EMG system. As a result there was no statistically significant difference in the movement time between the two different chin-up conditions. Secondly, the values of maximum muscle activity and integrated EMG were no different between bare-handed and strap-handed chin-ups. Thirdly, when we looked into mean differences of EMG from the perspective of time-series by 1% of normalized movement time, the muscle activities of back muscles, front deltoids, biceps brachia, trapezius muscles for strap-handed chin-up were significantly higher than bare-handed one in some temporal region(p<.05). On the other hand, the muscle activities of pectoralis major muscle and posterior triceps for strap-handed chin-up were significantly lower in some temporal region than the bare-handed one (p<.05). In summary, it was concluded that wearing a hook-style strap during chin-up reduces muscle activities of forearm muscles but tends to increase muscle activities of back muscles as a result of compensation.
