This study aims to examine the effects of neighborhood environment characteristics and walking activities on the level of social capital in Seoul, Korea. Social capital, which consists of trust, network, reciprocity, and participation, could be formed through daily interactions among residents. In addition, neighborhood-level social capital is one of the most important components in urban regeneration and social sustainability. This study focuses on the mediating effects of walking activity between neighborhood environmental characteristics and social capital, using the survey data of 2,500 residents in Seoul. The survey includes the respondents social environment, perceived physical environment and walking activity. This study also considers objectively measured neighborhood physical environment variables. The results indicate that the perceived neighborhood environment including accessibility to public transportation and accessibility to park and river as well as objectively measured built environment are associated with walking activities and social capital. In addition, this study confirms the mediating effects of walking activity between neighborhood environmental characteristics and the level of social capital.

This study aims to examine the causal relationships between perceived neighborhood environments, walking activity, and social capital based on theoretical frameworks. Recently, the importance of social capital has been increased for sustainable urban regeneration and qualitative growth. Social capital has positive effects on community development, strengthening the foundation of social integration through enhancing network and trust in social relationships. Using the survey data collected from 484 residents of Seoul, this study analyzes the causal relationships between subjectively measured neighborhood environment, walking activity and social capital by applying the structural equation model. The results of our analysis indicate that the perceived neighborhood environment has significant associations with walking activity and social capital. The results also show that the perceived land use mix and accessibility to neighborhood living and public transportation facilities are significantly associated with the social capital. In addition, the perceived neighborhood environments show indirect effects on social capital through the walking activities. Overall, this study confirms the causal relationships between perceived neighborhood environments, walking activity, and social capital, and suggests the importances of perceived neighborhood environment and accessibility to neighborhood and public transportation facilities to cultivate social capital in a neighborhood.

이주민의 약국 이용 및 의약품 사용 경험과 인식

Pharmacy utilization among immigrants in Korea is increasing amid the rapidly rising number of immigrants living in the country. However, few studies have investigated immigrants’ pharmacy utilization. This qualitative study used group interviews to explore immigrants’ experiences and perceptions of drug use and pharmacist services in Korea. The study participants consisted of 30 immigrants who had lived in Incheon and Gyeonggi for at least one year and had used pharmacies. The analysis results are grouped under three themes: “Reasons for visiting and selecting a pharmacy,” “Experience and perception of pharmacy and pharmacists’ services,” and “Experience and perception of taking medicine.” Our study shows that immigrants in Korea face language barriers when visiting pharmacies and struggle with Korea’s prescription-dispensing systems, forcing them to rely on their home country communities. However, immigrants who build a relationship of trust with a certain pharmacy tend to visit it regularly. Therefore, Korean pharmacists must strive to build good relationships with immigrants in order to help them adapt to Korea’s healthcare system.

프레스티지 유아복 시장에서 브랜드 개성과 부모의 자아이미지 일치성이 만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  본 연구는 프레스티지 유아복의 구매ㆍ소비시 부모들에게 브랜드 개성차원이 자아이미지 일치성, 긍정적 소비감정, 그리고 만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 분석하였다. 이는 기존의 자아이미지 일치성에 대한 연구가 본인이 직접 사용할 제품 또는 브랜드를 구매하고 소비하는 상황하에서 이루어진 연구들과 구별되어지며, 심리적ㆍ감성적 측면에 대한 연구를 위해 긍정적 소비감정을 포함하여 연구하였다.<BR>  연구결과 첫째, 프레스티지 유아복 브랜드 개성 차원은 역량ㆍ세련, 활기, 성실이란 3가지 차원이 추출되었다. 둘째, 브랜드 개성차원 중 역량ㆍ세련과 활기차원이 성실차원보다 부모의 자아이미지 일치성에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 부모들은 프레스티 유아복 브랜드를 통해 역량있고 세련되며 활기찬 자아이미지를 표현하고자 하였다. 셋째, 부모들은 자신의 자아이미지와 일치하는 프레스티지 유아복을 구매하여 유아에게 착용시켰을 때 긍정적 소비감정이 높아지며 이에 따라 부모들의 만족도 높아졌다.<BR>  본 연구결과는 기업이 경쟁우위를 점하기 위해서는 능동적이고 적극적인 브랜드 개성의 관리와 소비자에게 긍정적 소비감정을 경험하게 하는 마케팅활동의 필요성을 시사점으로 제공한다.   This research analyzed that the brand personality dimension of prestige infant apparel has influences on the parental self image congruity, positive consumption emotion, and satisfaction. Most past studies were conducted by a person purchasing and using a brand, but this research examines the prestige infant apparel purchased by parents and used by infants. The positive consumption emotion was included for the research from a psychological and emotional aspects. The results of this research are as follow.<BR>  First, the brand personality of prestige brand for infant apparels consists of three components: Competency/sophistication, Excitement, and Sincerity.<BR>  Second, the brand personality dimension of prestige infant apparel had a positive impact on parental self image congruity. The parents tried to express their competence, sophistication, and active self image through the prestige infant apparel.<BR>  Third, when the parents purchase the prestige infant apparel that corresponded with their self image and dressed their infants in them, the satisfaction of parents increased while the positive consumption emotion rose.<BR>  Results from this research show that there is a need for marketing activities that administers the brand personality in a dynamic and positive manner and gives consumers a positive consumption emotion for a company to gain a competitive edge.

보행목적별 보행활동시간에 영향을 미치는 근린환경 특성분석

This study examined the relationship between walking activity and neighborhood environmental characteristics using the survey data including 500 residents in Seoul. Focusing on the weekly walking time by walking purposes such as utilitarian walking and leisure walking, this study focused on the different impacts of subjectively measured- and objectively measured- neighborhood environments on walking activity time. The results indicated that the total time of utilitarian walking has significant associations with personal characteristics, residential duration, subjectively measured land use mix, and the number of bus stops. In contrast, the total time of leisure walking is significantly associated with personal characteristics such as health condition and the number of close neighbors and subjectively measured neighborhood environments such as land use mix and access to a neighborhood park. Notably, this study found that health condition and subjectively measured land use mix variables are significant for both walking activities. Finally, this study suggested that both subjectively measured- and objectively measured- neighborhood environments should be considered for an analysis of the relationship between walking activity and neighborhood environment.

본 논문에서는 GPS 기반의 자율주행 군사로봇에 사용된 각종 센서들의 융합(Sensor Fusion)에 대하여 다루고 있다. GPS 를 통한 자율주행의 경우 GPS 의 성능에 따라 정확도 차이는 있으나 특별한 지형지물 없이 로봇의 현재 위치를 파악할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 하지만 GPS 만 이용하여 자율주행 알고리즘을 구성하는 경우 로봇의 진행 방향을 특정하지 못한다는 문제점이 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 RTK GPS 와 Lidar, IMU 센서를 ROS 환경에서 Robot_Localization 과 EKF(Extended Kalman Filter)를 이용하여 융합하는 방법에 대하여 다루었다.

An instantaneous environmental noise simulation method emitted by a moving high-speed train by quasi-stationary analysis is proposed in this study. In the method, the propagation attenuations from stationary point sources on segmented railways to a receiver are calculated using a general purpose environmental noise prediction program ENPro based on the ISO 9613-2 method. Then, the instantaneous environmental noise at a receiver due to a moving high-speed train considering convection effect is evaluated with the information on the propagation attenuations from the instantaneous train location to the receiver and the sound power levels and directivity of stationary point sources evaluated by German Schall 03 (2006). To demonstrate the validity of proposed method, simulated and measured time history of instantaneous noise for KTX-I and KTX-II on running are compared and the results show that the method can be utilized for the train noise source identification as well as the simulation of instantaneous environmental noise emitted by a high-speed train.
