Calculating break-even price of calf production is closely associated with reproductive efficiency. To determine the price, we need data from reproduction records including number of claves weaned, number of cows exposed for breeding, and annual cash coast per cow, and average weaning or market weight of claves sold and retained. Unfortunately, the data were not available in Korea native cow (Hanwoo). To evaluate the performance and the price, we collected calving interval from about 60,000 cows for last 10 years and estimated reproductive performance. Calving interval was increased 4.3% and pregnancy rate was decreased about 1.4∼2.8% year-on-year. Increases in growth rates of number of cow and semen per calf supported the low reproductive performance. Finally, break-even price was calculated using estimated percent calf crop and demonstrated that growth rate of break-even price is larger than that of annual cash per cow, suggesting cow-calf profitability and financial efficiency in Korea native cow (Hanwoo) is getting worse

This experiment was carried out to obtain some imformations about the ecological variations of the heading time of the newly breeded Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees according to the seasonal changes of the seeding date, day length and temperature. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1) At all varieties, days to heading showed a straight reduction according as the seeding time was delayed. 2) At the group of Japonica varieties, the days to heading of early maturing varieties were much shortened and that of medium or late maturing varieties were little or not shortened under high temperature condition but at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees, days to heading were significantly elongated under high temerature condition. 3) At the group of Japonica varieties, the effect of the short day condition on the days to heading was significantly high at the medium and the late maturing varieties than at the early maturing varieties, however, the short day effect on the reduction of days to heading was not related with the earlyness of each varieties at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigress. 4) Days to heading of all varieties under the high temperature condition were longer than that under the ordinary culture. On the other hand, the days to heading of Japonica varieties under the short day treatment were shorter than the days to heading of ordinary culture but at the group of Indica x Japonica varieties/pedigrees, the days to heading under the short day treatment were longer than ordinary culture. 5) At both varieties groups, the days to heading at each seeding time were significantly correlated with days to heading at ordinary cultivation. 6) At the group of Japonica varieties, relatively high correlation(p=0.1) was recognized between the days to heading by delay of seeding time, but at the group of Indica x Japonicava rieties/pedigrees, correlation between the ordinary heading date and the shortening rate of days to heading was very low.

The goal of this study is estimate the required urban facilities of 4 cities within Chollabuk Province Region by using the simple and multiple regression analysis at the horizon of 1996 and 2001. Before the estimation of urban facilities, first, the socio-economic factors to influence the urban facilities are evaluated by using the simple regression analysis with the stastical year book of Korea. Secondly, the 8 urban facilities are estimated with 7 socio-economic factors as independent variables using multiple regression analysis. Naturally we have had the problem of selecting the number of independent variables in the multiple regression midel for each facilities.
제초제 2, 4-D에 대한 고려인삼의 반응 1 : 2, 4-D의 농도가 인삼의 생육 및 근수량이 미치는 영향

제초제 2, 4-D의 처리가 인삼의 생육 및 근수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 2, 4-D 제초제량 (유제 :70ml/100 /10a, 수화제 : 250g/100 /10a)의 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 배액을 2년, 3년 및 4년생 인삼에 대하여 출아후 40일에 각각 엽면처리아여 경엽의 상육과 장과의 착생 및 근수량의 변이를 조사하고 무처리대조구와 비교 분석하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 2년, 3년 및 4년생 인삼에 2, 4-D를 일반제초약량의 2배로 경엽산포하여도 지상부의 전체적인 생육상은 무처리구와 차이가 없었으며 특별한 약해현장도 나타나지 않았다. 2. 2년, 3년 및 4년생 인삼에 있어 무처리구와 2, 4-D 유제 및 수화제 처리 농도간에 엽장, 여폭, 경장 및 경직경 등 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 3. 3년생 및 4년생 인삼의 장과착생수는 2, 4-D 유제를 일반체초제의 2배로 처리한 구에서도 무처리구와의 유의차는 인정되지 않았으며 외관상의 형태에도 전혀 이상이 없었다. 4. 4년생 인삼에 있어 무처리구와 2, 4-D 유제 및 수화제의 처리농도간에 근장, 근식경, 지근수 및 근주의 차이는 인정되지 않았다. 5. 묘삼에 2, 4-D 유제 및 수화제의 일반제초제량을 경엽처리할 경우 줄기가 연화되어 구부러졌으며 특히 수화제 처리시는 잎의 끝이 백화고사되는 약해현장을 나타내었고 구부러진 줄기는 2~3일 후 다시 상향으로 회복되기는 하였으나 이상신장된 결과를 보였다. Weeds may compete detrimentally with the ginseng for moisture and nutrients but hand weeding is the only practical means of eliminating weeds after crop establishment. To define the effects of 2, 4-D herbicide application on the plant growth and root yield of Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer). the herbicide 2, 4-D was applied as a foliar spray with the rates of 0.5. 1.0. 1.5 and 2.0 times of the recommended herbicide dosage 70ml/l0a. The Korean ginseng treated with 2, 4-D in the rate of two times concentration was indistinguishable from nontreated plants in visual rating for foliar symptoms. There were no significant differences of the leaf length and width as well as the stem length and diameter in check plants and those recieving 2, 4-D treatments. The. berry maturing in 3 and 4-years old ginseng was not inhibited with 2, 4-D treatment. The root weight of the 4-years old ginseng plant was not reduced by 2, 4-D application of 2 times dosage. However. when the ginseng seedling was treated with 2, 4-D. detrimental phenomena as stem bending and dicoloration of marginal part of seedling leaf were occured but stem bending was recovered in a few days.
