Objectives: It was recently reported that the administration of T during antithyroid drug(ATD) therapy resulted in a significant decrease of antibodies to TSH receptors as well as the rate of recurrence of active Graves' disease following discontinuance of ATD treatment. But, there is still controversy whether combination therapy is efficient. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of T4 administration of patient with Graves' disease who were being treated with ATD. Methods: We studied 56 patients received methimazole(MMI) alone(Group 1) and 48 patients received methimazole plus T4(Group 2). They are diagnosed active Graves' disease at department of internal medicine, Kwang ju Christian Hospital from January, 1994 to December, 1995. AU the patients were treated initially with 30mg of methimazole daily for one month after then, in the Group 1(methimazole alone), the dose of methimazole was adjusted as necessary to achieve normal serum concentrations of T3, T4, and TSH. The patients of Group 2(methimazole plus T4) continue to receive the combination of T4 at a dose of 100 μg daily. Simultaneously, we estimated the serum concentratio n of T3, T4, TSH and Thyroid-stimulating immunoglob ulin(TSI) antibody at every three months. Results : We obtained the following result. In the group 1, mean TSI values were 50.1%(first visit), 30.6%(6months), and 24.7%(1year). And, in the group 2 mean TSI values were 51.8%(first visit), 33.6%(6months), and 22.7% (1year). After 6 months of discontinuing of therapy, the recurrence rate was no significant difference in the two groups (the recurrence rate were 55.4%, 50.0%, respectively P>0.05). Conclusion : These results suggest that T4 administration in combination with MMI therapy have no significant effect in a decrease in levels of TSH receptors antibodies and recurrence rate within 6 months discontinuing MMI therapy as compared with MMI treatment alone.
아파트 동남향․서남향 배치에 따른 물리적 주거환경에 대한 비교연구

Apartments with a southern exposure are often thought to have advantages in receiving winter sunlights and summer natural ventilation. However, as due-south-apartments increase recently, the consideration for residential environment for households with no southern exposure is necessary. In case of due-south-apartments, residents prefer east-sided apartments than west facing apartments which might receive more hot sunlight in the afternoon; however in case of west-oriented apartments with active ventilation, the interior area is bright until late afternoon without unpleasant heat and has advantage in light environment aspects. This study aims to compare and analyze merits and demerits of air flow and sunlighted environment of buildings through sunshine duration simulation using CFD simulation ad sunlights about southeast-sided and southwest-sided apartments based on general opinions for apartment directions. As results of the interior natural ventilation analysis, as the average air flow speed in southwest-sided apartments was 1m/s faster than that of southeast-sided, it has effects of lowering sensory temperature of residents in summer, and for sunlighted environment, southwest-sided apartments are advantageous for sunlighted area for duration time inside. As a result of the research, the calculation of physical residential environment of apartment residential space should be reached through integrated evaluation of natural ventilation and sunlighted time from placement and facing direction of the buildings considering characteristics and environment of each apartment, not based on general opinions.

The purpose of this study is to present the method of selecting the most suitable Double Skin system in thermal performance, which is often applied when building Green building and renovating old constructions, by comparing load features in direction of system and types.<br/> By simulating heating and cooling load in summer and winter of an office-building before and after remodelling with Double Skin system, this study analyzed the energy saving effect. Also, by comparing the skin performance from stack effect when different types of double skin system have been applied will show the influence of application of the various double skin system on the construction's energy performance.

The purpose of this study was to develop the entrepreneurial mentoring scale on start-up mentoring situation. In recent years, as the needs for entrepreneurship have grown from domestic to foreign, entrepreneurship education is actively being carried out. The entrepreneurial mentoring is strengthening its weight and contents in entrepreneurship education. However, research on the mentoring function scale designed to reflect the characteristics of entrepreneurial mentoring is rarely performed in Korea. In this study, we conducted a qualitative and quantitative research to achieve the research goal. First, we derive the entrepreneurial mentoring scales through literature review and expert group discussions, and we conducted the empirical analysis to draw conclusions. The results of this study are as follows. In the first step, literature review was conducted. In the second step, four major factors and questionnaires were derived through expert group discussion. In the third step, the doctoral level specialists developed 16 questionnaire items to measure the four factors of entrepreneurial mentoring derived from the second step and verified the content validity and the facial validity in fourth step. As a result of this survey, we conducted questionnaires on founding mentors who belonged to 17 Creation Economic Innovation Centers nationwide (153) and analyzed the problem solving, networking, communication, and motivation formation through exploratory factor analysis. This questionnaire was used to survey the entrepreneurial mentors who belonged to the 17 Center for Creative Economy and Innovation under the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning of South Korea(153). In fifth step, as the results of factor analysis such as EFA and CFA, we could confirm four factors including problem solving, networking, communication, and motivation. The significance of this study is as follows. First, academic significance was the first study of the entrepreneurial mentoring function scale reflecting the characteristics of entrepreneur mentoring as a qualitative and quantitative approach in Korea. Second, it is hoped that practitioners will be able to better measure the mentoring function of entrepreneurial mentors and contribute to improving the quality of future entrepreneurial mentoring programs.

Praecoxin A, an ellagitannin, purified from Alnus hirsuta var.microphlla was evaluated on the antitumor activity. Praecoxin A had the significant cytotoxicity to s ix tumor cell lines: human chronic myelogenous leukemia K-562, human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60, mouse leukemia P388, mouse lymphocytic leukemia L-1210, sarcoma-l8O, mouse lymphoma L5178Y except L-1210. And the most sensitive cell line was K-562 ($ED_{50}=2.43{\mu}g/ml$). The $ED_{50} of praecoxin A against HL-60, P388, L-1210, sarcoma7l8O and L5178Y were 6.28, 8.66, 10.00, 7.01, $9.32{\mu}g/ml$, respectively. Praecoxin A showed the increasing effect in life span by 36.8% on the 1st day after treatment of 10mg/kg in mice bearing sarcoma-180 tumor cells (ascitic form) via NCI (National Cancer Institute, U.S.A.) protocol in vivo assay. As a result, praecoxin A is considered to show the antitumor activity.
