        < 조신선전(曺神仙傳) >을 통해 본 조선후기 고소설 유통의 실상

        조선후기에 이르러 서적의 출판과 유통은 상업자본주의의 발달과 함께 비약적으로 성장하였다. <조신선전>은 18-19세기의 실존 인물로 추정되는 책쾌 조신선의 이야기이다. <조신선전>은 다산 정약용의 전 문학(biography) 작품이며, 조신선은 서유영·조수삼·조희룡 등에 의해 서도 작품화될 만큼 특별한 존재였다. 조신선을 비롯한 책쾌의 활약은 당대 문학뿐만 아니라 출판문화와 상업경제에 이르기까지 막대한 영향을 끼쳤다. 이에 본고에서는 <조신선전>에 나타난 조선후기 고소설 유통의 실상을 탐색하였다. 첫째, <조신선전>을 통해 본 서적의 유통과 책쾌의 존재에 대해 살펴보았다. 조선전기에는 지식정보에 대한 특권층의 독점으로 오랫동안 서적의 유통이 제한되었다. 조선후기에 이르러 지식에 대한 대중들의 관심이 높아지면서 서적의 수요가 증가하고, 이와 관련한 새로운 직업이 등장하였다. 그중 책쾌는 서적의 출판과 유통에서 핵심적 역할을 담당하였다. 즉 책쾌는 단순한 서적 중개인을 넘어 세책·판매·편집·기획의 역할을 모두 수행하였다. 둘째, <조신선전>을 통해 본 조선후기 고소설 유통의 실상을 살펴보았다. 조신선은 책에 관한 방대한 지식과 정보를 바탕으로 사업 수완을 발 휘했던 인물이다. 고소설도 그가 취급하는 서적 중 중요한 품목이었다. <조신선전>을 통해 볼 때, 조선후기 고소설의 발달에 있어 작가와 독자 사이를 연결해 주는 책쾌의 역할은 대단히 중요했다. 문학사회학적 측면 에서 책쾌는 당대 고소설의 성향과 흐름을 정확하게 파악하여 고소설의 유통을 주도하였다. 셋째, <조신선전>을 통해 본 조선후기 고소설 유통의 의미를 살펴보았다. 상업경제적 측면에서 책쾌는 고소설의 유통을 통해 경제 활성화에 기여하였다. 사회문화적 측면에서 책쾌는 고소설의 유통을 통해 출판 및 독서 문화의 발전에 기여하였다. 문학적 측면에서 책쾌는 고소설의 유통을 통해 작품의 양적 성장과 질적 발달에 기여하였다. By the late Joseon, publication and distribution of books were dramatically advanced along with the development of commercial capitalism. The <Josinseonjeon> is a story about the book-broker Jo Sinseon who is assumed to be a real character in the 18th-19th century. It is the biography of Dasan Jseon Yagyong, and Jo Sinseon was a special person to be expressed in the works of Seo Yuyeong, Jo Susam and Jo Huiryong. Activities of Jo Sinseon including Chaekkwaes had significant effects on the contemporary literatures as well as publishing culture and commercial economy. Thus, this paper investigates the actual state of distribution of classical novels in the last Joseon, shown in the <Josinseonjeon>. First, distribution of books and existence of Chaekkwae are examined through the <Jo Sinseonjeon>. In the early Joseon, it had long been limited due to the privileged class``s exclusive possession of knowledge information. By the last Joseon, as public increasingly gave attention to knowledge, demands for books were also increased, and new jobs related with this appeared. Among them, the Chaekkwae played a key role in publication and distribution of books. Not only did he serve as a mere book broker, but also performed Sechaek, sale, edition and initiation. Second, the actual state of distribution of classical novels in the last Joseon, based on the <Josinseonjeon>. Jo Sinseon showed his own business sense based on abundant knowledge and information regarding books. The classical novel was also an important item among book he had treated. From the <Josinseonjeon>, it is found that role of Chaekkwae was very significant for connecting authors with readers in the development of the classical novels in the last Joseon. In the aspect of literature sociology, Chaekkwae initiated the distribution of classical novels by exactly understanding their tendency and stream. Third, meanings of distribution of classical novel in the late Joseon are examined through the <Josinseonjeon>. In terms of commercial economy, Chaekkwae contributed to activation of economy through the distribution of classical novels; in the social/cultural aspect, he made a contribution to the development of publication and reading culture through it; and in terms of culture, he served to help quantitative growth and qualitative development through it.

        〈韋敬天傳〉에 나타난 전환기 사대부의 현실대응방식

        〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉 and 〈Jusaengjeon〉 are Kwon, Pill's greatest classical novels. This, 〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉 is very suitable to figure out how the author thought about the society. In the prior novel, 〈Jusaengjeon〉 is very similar in showing the pain of war. Hopeless love of the main characters, WiGyeongChun and SoSookBang ended up in a turning point and a swirl of history. This is very related with the times which the writer lived. Widely known, Kwon, Pill was an outstanding scholar and writer. Through self-examination, he expressed his own anger and pent-up rage, criticized society situation. On top of that, he delicately showed joy and anger together with sorrow and pleasure in life. Regardless of genres, he had showed his genius ability in his work. Especially in 〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉, the writer showed his own tragic romanticism and introduced new paradigm in literature of the nobleman. 〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉 illustrates repeated meetings and saying good-byes in tough reality and unexpected fate, showing the frustrated two main characters. In addition, Kwon aroused his inner recognition rather than just exhibiting conflicts between characters. Love like storm and gale, the incompatible actual and ideal and endless self-denial were the best virtue and sublimation of desperation. We can easily notice the author's trauma, which he had been defeated again and again by state of society, despite his excellent talent. Simultaneously, we can recognize most noblemen's ways to react to actuality as well. Results of experiencing a war comes into view in different ways, but in case of Kwon, that experience brought to conclusions; desperation and skepticism. These were converged into 〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉 and 〈Jusaengjeon〉. However, he let us see his romantic sensibility through his works. Kwon, an unlucky writer's only passageway connected with the world was writing a novel. And 〈Wigyeongcheonjeon〉 has an unique tragic ending, different from other classic novels. In short, this novel absolutely gave a try to show the ways of responding to the world with literature in a turning point. And this makes sure that his works could settle down into an important status.

        담낭전(談囊傳)의 문학적 특질과 의의

        <담낭전>은 조선후기 고소설에서 매우 이례적인 작품으로 알려져 있다. 제목에서 암시하듯이 ‘이야기 주머니’라는 뜻을 지닌 ‘담낭’이라는 8세 소년이 어른인 태수와의 문답을 통한 지혜 겨루기에서 승리한다는 내용의 소설이다. 이러한 구조는 설화의 하위 갈래인 민담에서 보편적으로 나타나지만, 소설 장르에서는 희소성을 지닌다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다. 본고에서는 <담낭전>의 서사구조와 문체미학을 고찰하여 여타 소설과 다른 문학적 특징을 조명하는 데 목적을 두었다.먼저 서사구조의 특징을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대립적 인물 관계이다. 이 소설은 제도권 관료와 비제도권 소년, 기성세대와 신세대, 사대부(귀족)와 평민, 관념론과 현실론으로 대표되는 두 인물이 충돌하는 지점에서 역설적 카타르시스를 제시한다. 즉 강과 약, 힘과 꾀에서 예상을 뒤엎고 결국 승리하는 쪽은 후자임을 보여 주는 민담의 일반적 패턴을 그대로 따라가고 있다. 둘째, 문답 형식이다. 세상의 이치와 삶의 지혜를 논하는 두 인물은 끊임없이 묻고 답하는 방법으로 각각 자신들의 가치관을 극명하게 보여 준다. 이 또한 문답형 지혜담의 연장선상에서 평범한 지혜가 우둔한 권력보다 우월하다는 점을 강조하고 있다. 셋째, 병렬적 구성이다. 이 소설은 주제를 보다 명시적으로 전달하기 위해 에피소드를 나열하는 방법을 취하고 있다.이어 문체미학의 특징을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대화체 방식이다. 문답 형식의 대화체는 설명이나 묘사와 같은 간접적 서술보다 작가의 의도를 선명하게 부각할 수 있다는 점에서 효과가 크다. 둘째, 간결한 문체이다. 단문단답의 촌철살인은 설화 양식의 고전적 수법으로, 특히 문답을 통한 두 인물의 간결한 대화를 통해 비판과 풍자를 극대화하고 있다. 셋째, 언어유희이다. 상황에 맞는 기지와 재치가 필요한 두 사람의 지혜 대결에서 주인공 담낭은 언어유희를 통해 태수를 압도하고 있다.<담낭전>은 전반적으로 갈등의 국면이 첨예하게 드러나고 있는 소설이 아니다. 이 때문에 사건 전개가 약하게 제시되어 있어 흥미의 요소가 반감되는 치명적 약점을 드러내고 있기도 하다. 그러나 주제를 선명하게 전달하기 위해 민담을 차용한 독특한 서사구조와 문체미학을 선택하였다. 이러한 방법을 통해 <담낭전>은 계몽적 교훈을 전달하려는 목적을 충실히 따르고 있다. <Dam Nang Jeon> is known as very exceptional work in Korean classic novel of Late Joseon Dynasty. As the title, the story is that the boy, 8 years old, called ‘Dam Nang’ which means ‘Story Pocket’ get the better of a governor-general, adult in the wisdom game with question and answer. This structure is meaningful to study because it is scare in novel but, universally appears in folk tale small genre in tale. This report has purpose to illuminate literary characteristic of <Dam Nang Jeon> different with other novel by studying its narrative structure and style aesthetics.For a start, characteristics of narrative structure are describe below. First, relationship between characters is opposite. This novel produce paradoxical catharsis at the collision point between two characters. They divided systematic official vs nonsystematic boy, the old generation vs new generation, aristocrat vs commoner, and idealism vs realism. In other words, it takes the mindam`s general pattern which eventually shows that the winner is the latter. It is against general expectation in strong vs weakness and strength vs wisdom. Second, it is question and answer. Two characters who discuss the ways of world and wisdom of life clearly present each values. It also emphasizes that natural wisdom is better than foolish authority as an extension of question-answer wisdom tale. Third, it is parallel plot. This story lists episode to present subject proposedly.Next thing, characteristics of style aesthetics are describe below. First, style is dialogue. Question-answer dialogue has greater effect than indirect narration like explanation and description on the point to highlights intention of author clearly. Second, it has a concise style. A short question and short answer is traditional way in the tale. It maximizes criticism and satire especially in conversation between two characters. Third, it is calembour. In wisdom game to need wit and tact, a governor-general was overwhelmed by Dam Nang, main character with calembour.Dam Nang Jeon> doesn`t generally have sharp conflict situation. Therefore development of an event is weak. It becomes deadly weak point which lose half its interest in. However, It chooses unique narrative structure derived from mindam and style aesthetics to transmit subject obviously. <Dam Nang Jeon> faithfully seek the purpose to transmit enlightening lesson with this methods.

        <六臣傳>의 인물 형상화에 나타난 작가의식

        본고는 <육신전>의 인물 형상화에 나타난 작가의식을 고찰한 논문이다. 이 작품은 조선 전기 세조의 왕위찬탈과 단종복위계획의 실패가 주요 배경이 된 작품이다. 또한, 조카 단종을 폐위하고 왕위에 오른 세조를 축출하려 했다가 발각된 사육신의 비극적 죽음에 대한 기록이다. 본고에서는 <육신전>에 등장하는 여섯 인물들을 작가 남효온이 어떤 방식으로 형상화했는지 분석하고, 그 특징과 의미를 고찰하였다. 첫째, <육신전>의 창작 배경과 후대의 평가를 조명하였다. 작가는 잘못된 역사를 바로잡고 훗날의 경계를 삼기 위해 <육신전>을 창작하였다. <육신전>은 정의를 위해 헌신했던 六臣에 대한 현창과 신원의 목적을 분명히 한 당대 지성의 회고적 성찰이다. 한편 <육신전>에 대한 후대의 평가에 대한 근거로 『선조실록』과 『정조실록』을 살핀 결과 긍정과 부정의 평가가 극명하게 엇갈렸다. 즉 『선조실록』에서 나타난 부정적 평가는 세월이 흘러 『정조실록』에서 긍정적 평가로 전환되었다. 이는 시대의 흐름에 따라 사육신에 대한 후대인들의 판단 기준이 역적에서 충신으로 변화했기 때문이다. 둘째, <육신전>의 서사구조와 인물의 형상화에 대해 고찰하였다. 작가는 각기 다른 여섯 명의 충신들을 염두에 두고, 그들이 지닌 개별적 행동과 성향을 기술하면서 결국 忠節이라는 주제에 집약될 수 있도록 작품을 세밀하게 설계하였다. 인물 형상화에 나타난 특징은 세 가지를 들 수 있다. 먼저 육신의 언행을 통해 청렴결백을 유지하고 지조를 굽히지 않았던 등장인물들의 성격을 제시하였다. 다음으로 등장인물 간의 갈등과 선악의 대비를 입체적이고 역동적으로 제시하였다. 끝으로 병렬 구조와 극적 환기 방식을 통해 하나의 주제로 수렴되는 集傳의 형식을 활용하였다. 셋째, <육신전>에 나타난 작가의식의 특징과 의미를 살펴보았다. 정치적 관점에서 작가는 유교적 윤리규범으로 정치관을 확고하게 천명하였다. 역사적 관점에서 작가는 반복돼서는 안 될 비극의 역사를 각성시키고자 했다. 문학적 관점에서 작가는 후세에 사육신을 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있도록 문학의 완성도를 높였다. This paper examines the writer consciousness that appeared in the representation of characters in the <Stories of Six Ministers>. Major backgrounds of this work are the seizure of the throne by king Sejo, and the failure of the plan to restore king Danjong in the early period of Joseon Dynasty. This work is also a record of the tragic death of the six martyred ministers after their attempt to oust king Sejong, who dethroned his nephew and rose to the throne, was uncovered. This paper analyzed how the characters appearing in the <Stories of Six Ministers> were represented. First, the background of creation of the <Stories of Six Ministers> and the evaluation of the work by later generations were examined. The writer Nam Hyo-on created the <Stories of Six Ministers> with the intention to correct history for precaution for later generations. Meanwhile, the 『Annals of King Seonjo』and the『Annals of King Jeongjo』were examined for the evaluation of the <Stories of Six Ministers> by later generations and according to the results, the evaluations were clearly divided into positive and negative evaluations. Second, the narrative structure of the <Stories of Six Ministers> and the representation of characters were examined. Nam Hyo-on minutely designed the work so that the stories would be integrated into the theme fidelity while describing the individual behaviors and inclinations of the six royal subjects bearing the weights of the six different royal subjects in mind. There are three characteristics that appeared in the character representation. The first one is the presentation of the personalities of the six ministers through their words and deeds. The next one is the conflicts between the characters that appeared and the contrast between good and evil. The final one is the parallel structure and the dramatic reminding method. Third, the characteristics and meaning of writer consciousness that appeared in the <Stories of Six Ministers> were examined. From a political point of view, the writer firmly declared a political view as a Confucian view of ethics. From the historical point of view, the writer wanted to awaken a consciousness about the history of tragedy that should not be repeated. From a literary point of view, the writer raised the degree of completion of literature and enabled remembering the six martyred ministers.

        〈銀愛傳〉의 문학적 특징과 교육적 효용성

        〈은애전〉은 조선 정조(正祖) 대에 일어난 살인사건을 바탕으로 한 실화의 재구성이다. 자신을 무고했던 한 노파에게 무참한 살인으로 응징을 가하는 은애의 살인행위에 대한 정당성 이 이 작품의 핵심내용이다. 〈은애전〉은 ‘법과 윤리’라는 양립적 가치 판단에 대하여 18세기 조선사회가 안고 있는 고뇌의 흔적을 보여 준다. 작가 이덕무가 〈은애전〉을 창작한 이유는 다음과 같다. 그는 먼저 이 작품을 통해 윤리의식을 고취하고자 하였다. 자신의 억울함을 풀기 위해 살인까지 저질렀던 김은애의 사건을 알려 백성의 교화 수단으로 활용하고자 했던 것이다. 또한 이 작품을 통해 교육적으로 활용하고자 하였다. 특히 여성교육의 핵심인 정절을 강조하여 가부장제 가족제도 안에서 바람직한 여성상을 제시하였다. 이 작품의 특징은 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 윤리적 주제의 부각이다. 이는 〈은애전〉을 읽는 독자들에게 가장 강력하게 제시하는 당위적 개념이다. 둘째, 사실과 허구의 양면적 구성이다. 작가는 객관적 서술방식을 통해 사실성을 확보하며 허구를 넘나드는 입체적 구성을 보여주었다. 셋째, 인물의 성격과 갈등상황을 역동적으로 제시하였다. 이 작품은 인물을 개성 있게 그려내고 사건을 생동감 넘치게 재현하여 소설적 느낌을 잘 살리고 있다. 〈은애전〉은 문학 교육적 효용성을 전제하고 지은 작품이다. 도덕정치의 꿈을 이루고자 백성들에 대한 교육의 수단으로 문학을 생각한 정조의 사상은 〈은애전〉 편찬에 반영되었다. 또한, 정조의 어명을 받은 작가 이덕무는 여성교육의 필요성을 인식하고 도리를 실천하기 위한 방편으로 〈은애전〉의 교육적 활용을 염두에 두었다. 〈Enaejeon〉 was reconstituted based on a true story of a murder case which occurred during the Reign of King Jeong Jo in the Joseon Dynasty. A key content of this work is involved with explaining justification of the act of Enae’s killing an old woman cruelly who accused her. 〈Enaejeon〉 contains traces of mental anguish Joseon society had in the 18th century in relation to the ambivalent value judgment of ‘law and morality’. The reason why a writer, Yi Deok Moo created 〈Enaejeon〉 is as follows: First of all, he tried to instill ethics through this work. He intended to let the public know about the case of Kim Eun Ae who killed a person in order to disentangle an injustice. In addition, he tried to use this work in an educational way. In particular, he proposed a desirable image of a woman in the patriarchal family system stressing fidelity which was a core of the education of women. The characteristics of this work are summarized as follows: First, one of them is involved with an emphasis on ethical themes. It is an essential notion which is proposed to readers reading 〈Enaejeon〉 the most strongly. Second, it is involved with twofold composition of facts and fiction. The author secures realism through an objective narrative style and showed three-dimensional composition covering both facts and fiction. Third, he provided personalities of characters and their conflict situations in a dynamic way. This work portrays the characters uniquely and reproduced the incident vividly to show feelings of a novel well. 〈Enaejeon〉 is a work written for the purpose of educational utility of literature. King Jeong Jo’s ideology was reflected in the publication of 〈Enaejeon〉 to consider literary as a means of teaching people in order to realize his dream of moral politics. In addition, Yi Deok Moo who received King Jeong Jo’s royal command recognized a necessity of the education of women and kept the educational use of 〈Enaejeon〉 in mind as a means of practicing morality.

        고전소설의 연행과 장르 변개 양상 - 사설시조와의 상관성을 중심으로 -

        Classical novel is a representative epic style of the post Chosun Dynasty when the prosaic sprite started. This style has been developed as a main Korean epic literature. For this, it was necessary that there be an endless heaping and growing of many materials. And it was used for the communicating between receivers and the advance of beauty.<br/> This treatise is written for investigating a literary status with classical novel through consideration of performance of classical novel and aspects of changing genres.<br/> Summarizing the results of this study is following.<br/> First, classical novel has showed the more developed aspects of changing genres. And it's compared with a performance which had been a main role in its circular process. Through this, classical novel was no more fixed within a text but a literature focused on reality. Especially, expanding the reader's want about literature, the post Chosun Dynasty when genres had dissolved and represented modern inclination includes sings about changing whether lyric literature or epic literature. On this basis, the performance of classical novel had changed into more professional and commercial by spread of demand. And the appearance of professional narrator brought more sophisticated and advanced delivery methods in circulation of the novel. It also showed that classical novel had become cubic as a show.<br/> Next, classical novel brought the varied new style by growing and branching out and it made the different style of literature and itself give and take their own effects. Specially, changing mode of classical novel gave and took some relative effects with a form of sijo with no restriction on the length of the first two verses. And in the course where a form of sijo with no restriction on the length of the firs two verses had received the novel's character, I can see the whole changing process of the classical novel. So, by making a format of the changing process, I can make up the following three intensive ways ; acceptance of novel materials in a form of sijo with no restriction on the length of the first two verses, making a form of sijo with no restriction on the length of the first two verses by condensation of novel contents, acceptance of novel's telling method in a form of sijo with no restriction on the length of the first two verses. As a results, I can see the various changing aspects of classical novel and it's main function in dissolving literature style, ranging a passive reception about materials for novel and an actively reception about novel's telling method.<br/> Lastly, classical novel that represents the history of epic literature has had changing mode of genre in not only sijo but whole field of poetic literature. Through this, a new concept literature has shown up and this was different from a fixed idea's genre. This caused by the historical background that feudalism was dissolved. The epic literature was the common people's thought and it was from their own special character. And this epic literature tried to find a new point to contact with other genres. Therefore, novel has had the result which another intention has extended by communicating with poetic literature. And this has showed that novel played an important role in the epic literature as well as the whole Korean literature.(Hanbat National University)

        〈酒肆丈人傳〉과〈郭索傳〉에 나타난 權韠의 作家意識

        Kwon Pil is a writer who had raised the status of ancient novels in the late of 16th and the early of 17th century, the important turning point of Joseon Dynasty. He succeeded in remarkable literary accomplishments by revealing his heart through self-examination and satirizing the wrong social aspects. Thanks to his literary talent, he made his fame in his times but, ironically it also made him drove to his death. He was a man of letters, who criticized contradiction of those times with his critical intelligence. In this thesis, I have reconfigured Kwon, Pil’s his attitudes in life and his literary world with two of his works, 〈JusaJanginJeon(주사장인전)〉 and 〈GuakSakJeon(곽삭전)〉. Even though these are not the main stream of his literature, they are well represented with his spirit of criticism and satire. The times he lived was before and after of Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. At that time, there were various changes in many aspects, especially in appearance of diverse writers and their words and description way as narrative literature had been flourish. For that example, there were other writers in his days, Huh Gyun and Jo Wi-Han. Both of them were remarkable authors in history of novel. Like arts, literature can get synergistic effects through leading a main stream of literature by some group of writers. And these could be done with interacting each other. Actually, the literary interaction between them made the former term which literary fiction could afford to leap after the 17th century. In this atmosphere, Kwon Pil produced brilliant achievements and broadened out his literary realm in descriptive literature as well as lyric letters which had been considered only for the gentry. He left four descriptive letters, which played an important connecting role between the former fictions and the later ones in literature history of ancient times. From then on, novel literature not only had extended denotation but contributed to raising its quality. Specially, Kwon showed very high quality in art character with unique expressive ways of morphology in his each work. 〈JusaJanginJeon〉 and 〈GuakSakJeon〉 are different from his other works such as 〈JusangJeon〉 and 〈WigyeongchunJeon〉. That is, he sublimated the beauty of satire and criticism by allegorically illuminating the motif with pretext and personification. This means he accepted the traditional descriptive expression ways and bridged the later new types of literature like allegorical story and personification story. Literature tends to show the spirit of times and the way a writer reacts because it is from his personality and his outlook on the world with letters. In this point, 〈JusaJanginJeon〉 and 〈GuakSakJeon〉 have characteristics in common that seriously criticized and satirized the society in those days. A flash of wit of Kwon’s literary talent was figured, as it is, in literary words with his experience and insight. Also, he did not limit the boundary of literature. Therefore, 〈JusaJanginJeon〉 and 〈GuakSakJeon〉 are the best works that represented author awareness on his satirical and critical spirit.

        <용夫傳>에 나타난 조선전기 사대부의 규범 일탈과 문학성

        〈용夫傳〉은 成侃이 지은 조선전기 假傳의 대표적 작품으로, 전체233자의 한자로 이루어진 단편이다. <용부전〉은 이처럼 지극히 짧은 분량이면서도, 당대 사대부들이 지녔던 규범의 인식이 예리하게 표현되어 있어 가치가 매우 높다. 특히 고려시대에 비해 상대적으로 희소한 조선전기의 가전이라는 점, 조선중기에 촉발한 ‘마음의 의인화’기법을 구현했다는 점에서 문학적 의미가 있다 또한 앞선 고려시대 이규보의 〈용諷〉을 이어받고, 작가의 아우인 성현의 〈嘲용〉에 계숭되는 .게으름’을 주제로 하나의 문학적 계통을 세웠다는 점은 이색적인 흥미를 던져주고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 〈용부전〉에 나타난 조선전기 사대부의 규범과 일탈의 의미를 탐색하였다. 첫째, <용부전〉의 형성 배경과 창작 동기를 살펴보았다 작가 성간은 心性을 본격적으로 다룬 전대 작품 이규보의 〈용풍〉에 영향을 입어〈용부전〉을 창작하였는데, 기존의 주제 의식과 변별하여 ‘게으름’의 가치를 존중하는 주제를 보여주었다. 둘째, <용부전〉에 나타난 조선전기 사대부의 규범과 일탈의 의미를 살펴보았다. <용부전〉은 용부(게으름)와 근수자(부지런함)를 등장시켜용부의 게으름을 근수자가 학문으로 고치지 못하고 음주가무로 고치게 되었다는 내용이다. 이 작품에서 작가는 인간의 존엄성과 고귀함을 통해 자신의 세계관을 표현하려 하였다 작가가 지향하는 궁극적 세계관은 당대 규범을 벗어난 인간 본연의 자유로움이며, 이를 통해 인생의 여유를 즐기려는 태도를 지니고 있다. 셋째. <용부전〉의문학적 가치를 살펴보았다 먼저 〈용부전〉은 고려시대로부터 이어져 오는 가전문학을 조선전기에 계승·발전시킨 작품이다. 또한, <용부전〉의 등장 이후 조선중기에 이르러 발달했던 천군소설은 고소설의 하위장르로 ‘마음의의인화’라는 독특한 기법으로 구성되었다. 끝으로 〈용부전〉은‘게으름’이라는 소재를 통해 극히 드문 문학적 형상화를 보여주었다. (Yong Boo Jean) written by Seong-kan is a representative Gajeon(literary genre to personify objects and describe them in biographic fashion) in the early Joseon Dynasty. It is a short story composed of 233 Chinese characters. (Yang Boo jean) is very short but it sharply expresses life standard nobleman have in that time so it is very valuable. Especially it is Gajeon in the early Joseon Dynasty which is relatively infrequent in compared with works in the Goryeo Dynasty. Also, It has unique and interesting that it inherits spirit from (Yong Poong) written by Lee Gyu-bo in the precedent Gorye Dynasty and it builds a literary system as subject, "laziness" inherited from <Jo Yong) written by Seong-Hyun who is Seong-kan``s brother. Therefore, this thesis investigates standard and deviation of the early Joseon Dynasty nobleman in (Yang Boo jean) First, these are examined the background and writing motive in (Yong Boo Jean). When the writer, Seong-kan creates < Yang boo jean), his work is influenced by < Yong Poong) written by Lee Gyu-bo, which treated subject as nature. It shows the subject respecting "laziness" in different from existing subject of other works. Second, it is studied life standard and deviation of nobleman in < Yong Boo jean). < Yong Boo Jean) ``s main characters are Yong Boo(laziness) and Guen Su Ja(diligence). It has a story that Guen Su Ja couldn``t adjust Yong Boo``s laziness as study but could adjust him as drinking singing and dancing. In this work, writer wants to express his world-view as dignity and honorable of person. Writer``s world-view aims for freedom of person nature and he has attitude enjoying life. Third, it is examined the literary value in < Yang Boo jean). < Yang Boo jean) is the work that improves Gajeon inherited from the Goryeo Dynasty to the early Joseon Dynasty. Also, it is specially consist of personification of mind that the Cheon-Goon novel which developed in the middle Joseon Dynasty on and after appearance of < Yang Boo jean). At last, < Yang Boo jean) shows rare literary imagery as material, "laziness".
