The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is known as a very useful decision-making model developed for obtaining the relative weights of alternatives through pairwise comparison in the context of hierarchical structure. In this paper, we propose a method to reflect the reliability of evaluators in the process of pairwise comparison. The method is applied to the evaluation of aerospace technology alternatives. We have conducted a questionnaire survey for S company that is one of the representative aerospace companies in Korea. A questionnaire was designed for obtaining both the priority with considering the reliability of evaluators' importance weights (the modified AHP priority) and the priority with assuming equally reliable evaluators' importance weights (the AHP priority) in order to compare the priority derived by each of two methods. The result shows that there exists the difference hard to neglect between the final priorities gained by two methods.

The imports of used medical equipment such as CT, MRI have been rapidly increased every year. How to manage those medical equipment has been one of critical issues in the government sector. In this study, we demonstrate how benefit/cost analysis using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) can be applied to the comparison of used CT/MRI and new CT/MRI. The final results show that the new CT/MRI is more attractive than the used CT/MRI.

One of the systematic attempts for technological forecasting is Delphi Method that externalizes and manipulates unformalized experts opinion in a particular problem or subject. It has, however, a critical shortcoming that it can not reflect the degree of interaction that exists among forecast events or subject. Gordon and Hayward(1969) criticize that when the forecast events are strongly interrelated, a totally unrealistic consensus may result. They proposed a new forecasting method that considers the interaction of events, that is, Cross Impact Analysis (CIA). A number of related models have been developed after them. In this study, we examine a variety of research results related to CIA obtained by literature survey and propose the limitation and future research direction. This analysis would be expected to help us to create a strategic scenario on future technology development at the government and firm level.

Recently, due to the primary emphasis of health industry and to the restriction of budget, setting the priorities for effective and efficient investment on the medical device and material products has been one of the critical issues in the government sector. This paper shows how an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model can be used for assessing selected medical device and material products for grant of the Ministry of Health & Welfare. The final results show that unabsorbable suture is the most attractive medical device product among 88 evaluated products, followed by IV cannula, central venous catheter.

Recently, it has become important to establish a technology appraisal system because of increasing a service of technology credit guarantee. Also, there have been many efforts to evaluate a technology in the advanced countries. The technology/credit appraisal model which can measure firms' performance was suggested by Small and Medium Business Administration. In this paper, we analyze a structural validity of the model by confirmatory factor analysis and estimate the model which can distinguish whether an investment is possible or not by discriminant analysis.
