Double primary cancer is a rare disease in which two cancers occur in an individual independently. As prolonged survival of patients with malignant tumors is expected in the future due to advances in methods of treatment, the chance of double primary cancer will be increased. We experienced one case of double primary cancer which was developed in esophagus and chest wall. A 72 year-old male visited our hospital complaining of epigastric discomfort and right chest wall mass. We studied esophagus, chest wall, and other organs including gastrointestinal tract by various methods to exclude the cancer of other sites and could diagnose squamous cell carcinoma of mid-esophagus and adenocarcinoma of chest wall. The patient underwent esophagogastrostomy following esophagectomy and wide-resection of chest wall tumor. The postoperative course was uneventful.

Because of continuous change of traffic patterns and increase in traffic volume, effective signal traffic systems should require signal system. Which can flexibly manage road situations that have been changed every hours. In this paper, we study system that can control the intersection signal autonomously with the analysis of situations related to intervals of inter-section signal and traffic volume. We propose the method that fuzzy logic controller(FLC) which is applied to fuzzy logic control traffic signal. In order to prove higher performance of the FLC presented in this paper, We have compared the regular signal systems with fuzzy signal systems.
Usefulness of the bispectral index during cardiopulmonary resuscitation -A case report-

The usefulness of using the bispectral index (BIS) for monitoring during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is not clearly understood. However, BIS has been a popular anesthetic monitoring device used during operations. The case presented is of a pregnant woman going into cardiac arrest due to an amniotic fluid embolism during a Cesarean section. CPR was performed, but neither the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) nor the return of consciousness was achieved, despite 50 min of effective CPR. However, CPR was continued based on BIS. ROSC was achieved, and an alert consciousness state was reached 1 day postoperation. This finding suggests that BIS be used as a basic monitoring device during CPR and that it may help in deciding to continue CPR.

We analyzed the destruction patterns of a turbo-molecular pump (TMP) resulting fromits sudden exposure of a foreline to the atmospheric pressure due to a destruction of theforeline connecting clamp of an ICP dry etcher for 300 mm wafers during high-vacuumoperation (5×10−6 Torr). Unlike in the case of view port’s breakage, the TMP’s rotor modulewas crashed inside the chamber. The primary damage resulted from the collision of the bladesand stators, and the secondary damage resulted from the breaking of the rotor - driving shaftassembly. The fixing screws of the rotor and axial shaft were bent and broken when theTMP controller output the maximum current even after the crash event. Electrical powerconsumption analysis of the TMP power controller confirmed it. The stress distributions wereanalyzed by a finite element method using CFD-ACE+ multi physics software. Rotating inertiaof each parts and kinetic energies were calculated as well. 68% of the rotational kinetic energyis deposited by the rotor - shaft module.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine a separation method for eacharsenic metabolite in urine by using a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). Methods Separation of the arsenic metabolites was conducted in urine by using a polymericanion-exchange (Hamilton PRP X-100, 4.6 mm×150 mm, 5 μm) column on AgilentTechnologies 1260 Infinity LC system coupled to Agilent Technologies 7700 seriesICP/MS equipment using argon as the plasma gas. Results All five important arsenic metabolites in urine were separated within 16 minutesin the order of arsenobetaine, arsenite, dimethylarsinate, monomethylarsonate and arsenatewith detection limits ranging from 0.15 to 0.27 μg/L (40 μL injection). We used GEQUASNo. 52, the German external quality assessment scheme and standard referencematerial 2669, National Institute of Standard and Technology, to validate our analyses. Conclusions The method for separation of arsenic metabolites in urine was establishedby using HPLC-ICP-MS. This method contributes to the evaluation of arsenic exposure,health effect assessment and other bio-monitoring studies for arsenic exposure in SouthKorea.
